I wasnt going to renew either Karen...but ours expired on the 28th of May..and the closer it got to June 28th (30 day grace period) the itchier my palms got and the tic of my eye got worse and I started experienced PAP renewal related Tourettes! I would yell out obscene words like, ANNUAL!
RENEWAL! MONEY SAVED! TIME TICKING! NO LAST MINUTE TRIPS!
Well you get the picture....sigh and DVC didnt make it any easier by offereing such a kick booty disc on PAP renewal....Then I was only going to do mine..but that darn PAP Touretets kicked in again....ALONE! NO BUDDY! NEED ONE KID AT LEAST! So I was going to renew one of theirs...again with the disease...WHICH KID?MEAN MOMMY! PLAYING FAVORITES!

Last night Aubrey decided for some reason to check our tickets to Vancouver - I couldn't believe what I saw they were booked for a day earlier than we were going!!!!
Checked the pre-cruise hotel which I knew was correct.
He went to Delta and luckily they had 2 seats on the non-stop for the correct day - cost us to change but beats paying for the hotel and the extra day out of town as we will be gone fo 17 days already!!!

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 wonder why I had a stressful day today!!!

when r u going again??

Well, that was obscure. I get that it's something Mouse Matters. But what does that mean?

Oh, I happen to know someone who wrote something for a certain feature on an unnamed website.

But I don't know how much I can divulge.....Mike, Mouse Matters, DIS. :)

I was going to bank all my points and keep my POP ressie originally, but then the whole thing happened with the wallet....so now I am trying to cut costs on this trip...hmmm what to do what to doo...If I stay OKW and add dining it will really only save me about $200....but if I stay OKW no dining....then it costs me nothing and we can eat on the cheap for the week....HEADACHEyet? I try not to confuse you all to often, but I could use your opinions......WWYD?

I would stay at OKW with no dining plan. (waitlisted for BWV!) The dining plan is great if you want to eat ridiculous amounts of food, but with a little planning, you can eat economically. Have lots of healthy snacks on hand for in between meals.

Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth..... :sunny:

I would like to BUT I am just not certain that it is worth the extra points??Plus I hae a bad habit of sticking with what I know,, and I was really comfortable at OKW..but I would like to try something different. Are the studios at SSR difficult to get? Do you have any pics Karen? How was the pool?

Pictures are on the photo disk. Are you getting one? Do you need pictures before then? If so I can photobucket a few. Pool, IMHO, was great. Slide was alright (nothing compares to the water park slides, of course) Don't know if studios are hard to get at SSR. We had a 1 BR. I have one for October (waitlisted for one day in the middle) but it is F&W so that probably affected it.

Food court was great! They had more than just burgers and dogs. They had AWESOME flatbreads. Also their daily specials looked really good. And the "grocery" area looked bigger than OKW's or VWL's. And had everything we would normally get at Publix (Raisin Bran, chocolate doughnuts, OJ, milk, etc)

U TOP!!! Shared with Amanda! :)

Amanda - I agree with Laura. Stay at DVC with no dining plan. You are driving down right? Head on over to Publix and for what you would spend eating one day on Disney food you can load up for the week. Cereal, sandwhiches, etc. You could even buy burgers and hot dogs and cook them on the outdoor grills (I think you need to bring your own coals etc). Lots of ways to save money.

One of the things we love about DVC. Almost all of our breakfasts are in the room.

Laura,
That is what I am leaning towards doing since the goal is to cut costs, but Iwanted to make sure I was not crazy for giving up the free dining? It seems so wrong! LOL

Our problems at VWL were three fold. First it was a studio for only 2 nights after a cruise.

We check in no problem. Room isn't ready - no big deal - so we head to MK. Come back when we call and the room is ready. Go to the room. It is first floor. Not my favorite but ok. Open the door and someone is sitting on the bed. We think they were the party that checked out that day but left the patio door unlocked so they could get back in. Go into the lobby of the Villas and call the front desk. We were told we had to go back to the Lodge. Walked over and were treated like we were bothering the person to get a new room. Strike #1.

We get a new room - also first floor. Go in, no one is there, kind of dark for my tastes but ok. We unpack and Mark is trying to upload our pictures onto the TV. Needed video inputs. Called and asked if we could get a vcr for that. Was told no problem but no one ever came and when we called back much later was told we couldn't have one. Strike #2.

While Mark was calling the 2nd time I decided to go out on the patio and read (just like I do on a balcony or verandah on vacation). As i go to open the door a snake crosses the patio. Strike #3.

So VWL just isn't for us. I'm very happy with my Boardwalk home, especially when I have a Boardwalk view!

Amanda -- if it was me and you wanted to conserve on eating out, I would stay at OKW, go with a 1 bedroom so you have a full kitchen and then buy what you need to eat in the room everyday. We usually try to have all of our breakfasts in the room, eat out at lunchtime, then have 3 or 4 meals in the room at dinner time. This has always saved us a lot of money. I did dining plan this year, just because it was available. Don't know how many times I will do that again.
