5/22/2008 Wonder Cruise!

Just noticing that we haven't had a post in almost 24 hours... can't have THAT!:sad2:

Have a great weekend everyone!:cool1:

Wow, that Tigger FE sure is amazing, wonderfully done, a big :thumbsup2 from over the Atlantic.

Hey, Coffeegirl, where and when do you plan to visit Europe, let us know and stop by, whenever you are near Switzerland, and I will be glad to help you with tipps and hints, anytime. I used to be a travel agent, so count on me.

And no, the cruise will be nearly the end of our 1 month trip through Florida, first we spend a week on Captiva Island, where Urs (my beloved husband) will do some golfing, I will be on the beach with Alena, collecting tons of shells and just relax and enjoy the sun after a coooooold Swiss winter. Then we will go to Sarasota for a few days shopping and again... beach.... Then 5 days Orlando with WDW and Seaworld, we will be staying at the Polynesian and then T H E W O N D E R with all you sweet ones :dance3:

And then Disney Vero Beach for 5 days, and then, hopefully at Cape Canaveral the start of the Space Shuttle (highlight for my husband) and then 2 days Fort Lauderdale before we go home again. :scared:

Any tipps from your side, what are the MUST SEES at the above locations.

Oh my goodness! What a trip! It all sounds so wonderful! Looks like you've got it all covered!

Looks like the pins are a go! I finished up the design. Need to make payment and they will ship early next week. I think 100 should do it, no? Does that sound like a good number. I am very pleased with them and can't wait to give them out!

I think 100 will be fine. I count 59 people at this time on our list. If you have extra you can give them to the crew.....they luv little gifts. On the transatlantic Laura and I gave our dining staff and room staff some of the leftover magnets that we had. They loved them!!

So do the 1.5" buttons work or do we want thr 2.25. Keep in mind they will not have our individual names on them so someone might want to take care of something of that nature. A simple ptouch labeler or something like that would work......I think the 1.5 inchers would be fine and un-obtrusive! What do you all think?

1.5" sounds like a good size. Not to big but not to small....and if we put them on lanyards, they will look ok at that size.

Not sure about that Suzy. I was in previous large groups that had them made and then repeat cruisers usually get one from DCL. They might have something at WDW....maybe someone else can answer that for you. :confused3

(Hello to all of you)

Coffeegirl, thanks ever so much for all the effort with the pins and the lanyards (didn't know that word and had to look it up to know what you are talking about, but of course I know what it is. I am sorry, that I can not help with these things, but you do not get them overhere. So sorry. But I will make it up hopefully with nice Swiss presents.

Yes, this trip means soooooo much to the three of us, my father was very ill and for a long time, we were not sure if we can make it, but last week my father had a big operation and everything went just wonderfully good and now he is on the way up again and we know that we can leave Switzerland without feeling too guilty. We wanted to do that trip before Alena joins Kindergarten in Summer, after that, in Switzerland, it is not allowed to take the kids out of school outside normal holiday time. So we had to do it now.

I have to go now, it is midnight, the time difference is exactely 6 hours, so a good start into the weekend for all of you, I had it already, went to the movies with a girlfriend, had a few margaritas.

:grouphug: Andrea

 Okie Dokie everyone.....it is finally 5pm here in MS so I am on my way home. We are expecting bad weather but the weekend should be nice. Hope so, got stuff I need to do outside!

Have a great weekend!!

Pam

Woo HOO, Andrea. Now THAT'S how to start the weekend. :cool1:
I started mine by taking DD2 to her swimming lessons. How's that for excitement? But afterwards we came home and swam in our pool for awhile before I grilled dinner. DH has just left for his weekly Friday Poker game. And by the way, that's a HUGE reason we love DCL - no casinos!

And, great news about your dad!

Suzy - You should be receiving lanyards when you check in as Castaway Club members. You'll get them for the repeat adults in the party. You can also purchase DCL ones onboard.

Coffeegirl - the buttons sound great. Thanks again.

OOPS! Sorry, Suzy (about the Castaway Club lanyards). Read your signature too quickly and thought it listed a past cruise. You can still buy them onboard. They're not cheap (is anything), I'm thinking $6 or $7 each but maybe someone can tell you exactly. Otherwise, you may want to buy regular ones somewhere close to home. You could always "Disney" them up - pins, etc.

Okay, I'm ready for vacation right this minute.
Stress, work, and spring fever have me chomping at the bit to get going already. 32 more l-o-n-g days. That's 770 hours until I'm standing at the port. And it's 46,080 minutes. That seems like a lot of minutes....

This week I have to go find mly summer clothes!

I know what you mean. I've been up since 5am thinking about vacation. I may not sleep at all the week before.

We are right there with you kaykels!

With Student Teaching finally slowing down, college exit interviews and presentations ramping up, and wedding plans in piling up -- well, we're both plenty stressed out! We'll need the getaway!

We're going to buy the materials for our Fish Extender tonight...going to start working on it this weekend.

So how has everyone's weekend been so far?

Cheers,
Josh

Hi Josh, sorry, no bumps on this side of the atlantic, was it a heavy one  ?

Gosh, you really have a tight agenda, with college, wedding and honeymoon, you two most be really busy, but enjoy every moment, it will be a once in a lifetime experience and filled with endless emotions.

It is midnight and we have a beautyfull fullmoon over here, and spring is finally apporaching even here in Switzerland. Time for our first BBQ this spring.... I have 2 great relaxing and romantic days alone at home just with my husband, Alena packed her suitcases on Friday evening and went on holiday to her "Grossmami" (Grandma). Tonight we went to a great restaurant on the border of Lake Zurich, great few, amazing food, delicious wine and just us adults.... it was perfect. All you mums and dads will understand how precious such moments WITHOUT kids can be.

Sleep tight to all of you and have a great weekend
Andrea

Josh -
EARTHQUAKE??? No, nothing here.

Andrea -
Sounds like you had a great night out. So.......Alena is away, you've got DH to yourself, and you're on the DIS Boards???? Now THERE'S a true DISer! :rotfl:

Josh, LISTEN TO ANDREA! Enjoy your time with your lovely bride before the kids arrive. Kids are amazing and I can't imagine life without them, but those years when you're first starting out are some of the best memories ever. I can't wait for my daughter to meet you two. She is only 14 and already told her boyfriend all about her Disney wedding and honeymoon on DCL. So no matter who she marries, he'll have to be Dis-ni-fied!

Andrea, I'm glad spring is finally springing! You'll have to tell us all about your beautiful country. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Switzerland someday... and not just because of the chocolate! I've seen pictures of the mountains in Lauterbrunnen and Kandersteg and it's breath-taking! I'm sure it's even prettier in person. Ahh, someday!
