40th Birthday at WDW

I'm a dude turning 40 this year....Would spending it a Disney be lame?

It would be mid-week in late March with my wife and son.
We've done MK & HS already this year, so AK, Epcot, or maybe MK again.

Any ideas on fun stuff we could do to make it diffrrent from the usual trip?

I spent my 40th at Disneyland! So I think it's a great choice to spend yours at WDW!

Is there anything you've really, really wanted to do but never have? Like a tour or something like that? I took the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps tour for my birthday gift to myself and it was really fun. My husband kept the kids at the hotel pool for the morning, and I went on the tour. I also made ADRs for a dinner of my choice, and stuff like that.

Be sure and wear a badge or some sort of bling for your bday! I have never been wished happy birthday so many times! And one very sweet teen at a churro shack said, upon seeing my "I'm 40!" button - you are not seriously 40 are you? You don't look 40 at all! And even if he was just being nice to an old lady, it was a bright spot!

We are spending my husbands 40th in WDW this March as well! DH loves Disney and it's just our familys happy place. He hates getting older, and doesn't want to do a party, but really wanted to be in Disney! So, no, I don't think it's lame
Having a hard time coming up with 'special' things to do to celebrate. But being in Disney is special in itself. He loves the rides and shows and just the being there. Of course we have younger kids, who really want to celebrate birthdays, so we have booked his birthday dinner at Chef Mickeys (He's a big Mickey fan
Another of his favorites is Whispering Canyon dinner at Wilderness Lodge.
You could also do the Dining with an Imagineer, may be something special if that's something you're interested in, or any of the tours.

Do it! I will be doing my 50th birthday next year at Epcot. Nothing wrong with it at all.

We went this past October to spend my 40th and then again in December to celebrate my husbands. Turning 40 is a big deal, spend it and celebrate it however you want to.

We spent my 40th birthday in Disneyworld. It's in December so we did MVMCP and all the Christmas activities which were fun. I'd just pick your favorite parks, a restaurant for your birthday, order a cake and have fun.

There's always the Illuminations or Wishes cruise, the tours, or a signature restaurant if you want to do something extra.

I am heading to WDW in 22 days to celebrate my 40th... Early! My official day is a month later. Where else would anyone be turning 40 celebrate before the big day? We are trying a resort we have never been to, seeing Hoop-De-Doo, and just letting the family all be the kids at heart we are!

Wear your pin! I wore mine on my birthday. Not as many gushing CMs as the little kids seem to have, but a lot of guests said "Happy Birthday to me."

My trip last year at this time was my gift to myself for my 50th. I had a blast.

Going in February, celebrating my granddaughter's 16th, daughter's 43rd and my 70th! I would recommend looking into 2 different evenings that are great fun and make you feel more like 30 than 40.
First is the Hoop Dee Doo. Expensive and need to make reservations but a good night, food, and let your hair down. That even goes more so for my 2nd recommendation.
See Yehaa Bob's show at the Riverside Wed. thru Sat. I believe. It is free, great fun participation and for all ages. He is a great showman that involves everyone at the River Roost Lounge, adults and kids. Warning: you may come away with your face hurting from laughing so much. We along with a lot of "those in the know" see him at every WDW visit. Come 1/2 hour before show so he can visit with you.

Defiantly not lame to go to Disney for your 40th as one "dude to another”.
I would enjoy a nice dinner at one of your favorite restaurants, take a tour, go for a round of golf, Jellyrolls, etc.

I will admit I love Disney but I am very subtle (you would never catch me in a crazy shirt or freaking out over seeing a character, not judging those that do, just saying my personality). My point is you can enjoy the movies, parks, art without feeling like a child if that is your concern. Happy early Birthday.

Sounds awesome to me! I plan to celebrate my 40th there this summer with husband and son.

Get a button from guest services or a Disney hotel that says it's your birthday. You never know what pixie dust it may bring!

I spent my 40th Bday at Disneyworld and had a blast. I went with just my hubby and left the kids at home. I loved it and wouldn't have wanted to spend my bday anywhere else.

Crowd levels will be high, so we'll do AK until 430-ish and then dinner at Sanaa

I'm a dude and spent my 60th Birthday at WDW for a whole week. Best time of my life. I wore my pin everyday and could not believe the perks, well wishes from everyone, extra special treatment at the restaurants, etc. It was without a doubt, the best birthday I can ever remember celebrating. My wife and I travel down to Disney every year but usually in February. We wnet a second time that year because it was my 60th and I will never forget it. We are going back in 30 days and will be celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. Yes, it gets better when you get older because you go without the kids.

I'm celebrating my 40th at Disney in March too! Woohoo! We are doing 4 parks in a day to celebrate 4 decades. Then having a late dinner at Le Cellier to celebrate. I'm super excited! Happy Birthday and Geaux Tigers!
