My hubbie had a good question. People that are getting called with upgrades, are they having to pay for them or are they free like we saw on our reservation? Also those people getting called, were they already upgraded once and this is a second one or did they miss the pixie dust the first time and are now getting hit with it?

I haven't seen any posts where DCL has called and offered to SELL an upgrade to someone (which actually kind of surprises me). The posts I have seen where people got the phone call, they did not know about any upgrade till the call. I'm sure DCL isn't calling anyone who booked GTY...those assignments are just showing up. But it doesn't seem like they are calling everyone who had assigned cabins either. Maybe they will do that, and we are just too fast for them by checking the website (daily )

I had a room assignment from day one and never got a call but maybe we are just too quick!

I think a big and active thread either scares people, or they just don't have the time to participate. I remember on the WBPC lots of people came by the Promanade Lounge meet to say hello and also chatted with us 'lanyard wearers' all through the cruise.

We love our lurkers...please don't be shy on the ship!

I know for this cruise (and probably it's partially because we booked so late) that I won't be doing as much pre-arranged DIS stuff as I did on the WBPC.

I tooo would have liked to have done more w/all of you and didn't want anyone to think I was a snot came and got the info I needed, a lanyard and that was that.
In a way it is exciting booking this close in. In a way I still think I am nuts to have done this with a 1,4,11 and 14yr old. (feel free to agree!)

decided this cruise and boards are really getting to me - I dreamed last night that our family was linked with another family but the different part is we were all the same room and we got upgraded and they did not and they blamed us because the reservations were linked and I tod them but look on the bright side because we got reassigned their family would have the cabin all to themselves and not have to share with our family (yes I know 2 families of 4 cannot share one cabin in the real world - I said it was a dream )

So they were going to unlink with us and hope to get an upgrade.

I think this is all getting to me - really!

oh i would never think anyone is snot if they did that - it is just my personality and I think everyone wants to come and join the party and they just do not know about us Lurkers are good and I do hope everyone says "hello" and gets added to the list if for nothing else we are able to give out all the lanyards (we have 500!) I think it is cool to walk down and see someone with a lanyard from the group and instantly know you have something in common with them! It makes the experience so much more fun for me - not like I would not talk to someone if they did not have a lanyard on - my hubby says to me all the time - the people in the grocery store line really do not care about whatever it is you are telling them

If by names only is there a way for me to get a copy to redo by cabin numbers because it will make it easier to distriubute lanyards for those who do not make it to the meet. It is frustrating for me to think I have delivered all things on one deck to realize I forgot someone and I would like giving out 350+ lanyards as easy as possible for the team!

I agree that when walking around dropping off gifts or lanyards having a list sorted by room number would be very helpful! To that end, I may just sort the spreadsheet as I need it and print it off before leaving for the cruise. Better safe than sorry!

I wonder how they'll do the Castaway Club meet this time?

On the WBPC (berfore you had to be gold or platinum to go to the 'party'), they had an on deck party since there were so many repeat cruisers. While CC members were 'invited', it really was for everyone as they didn't restrict/id people in any way.

How did they do it on the other transatlantic/PC cruises?

My fav color is pink. I latched onto it at a young age and never outgrew it into a grown up color like lime or aubergine

As of yesterday, we'll be joining you on 8 - got a lovely phone call with an upgrade from our Cat. 7 Navigator's Verandah to a Cat. 4, 8574. Looks like it's upgrade central going on around here.

Good for you! I didn't think that the upgrades would be over...let's face it, as long as they're still selling cat 12's and there are only 13 of those, dcl is going to have to move people around.

We seem to have been upgraded with my sister. We are in 8578 - but it happened last week when hers did.

We now have all our flights booked so it seems more real and shoveling snow this AM just makes castaway look better!

I called DCL this morning hoping to get some info on our flights (which we were told would be available at the 45 day mark). Once again the CM told me there is no info available at this point of time. After asking (again) when this would be available? She told me not until the 30 day prior to departure.
Why is it that we are getting the round around with our flights. Is it because we are staying a few extra days in Barcelona? This is frustrating...we just wanna be able to plan for our return flight travelling with a 2 year old (which is a challenge on a short flight).
