Good point! That makes it better - just a bit. I worry so much about the little stuff that I forget some of the important stuff. :sad2: Since I'm part of the lanyard team, I NEED to be there! How would it look to have part of the team not show up and have to have my own lanyard delivered?? I guess I could have my dinner mate, Dee, pick mine up for me if I don't make it on time.

I sent you a pm

don't worry about if you do not get there to help hand out! Just as long as you get on the cruise - rest assured if you really want to do something you can help pass them out to the ones we have to deliver to the staterooms :)

Me, too! Although, I haven't quilted in over 8 years. Doesn't seem that long. But I stopped when I got a DGD cause I have to leave my machine and stuff out on the kitchen table. So, she's 8 now and I could probably leave things out without worrying too much but I just got out of the habit. I have lots of fabric planned for several quilts but I just can't make myself start!

I'll be bringing cross-stitch; my current knitting project is too big and bulky to haul around. But you all should know that the hours I'm spending becoming acquainted with you all are hours that I ought to be spending sewing....my favorite niece will be married March 12. No one in her family has much money or sewing skills, so mine (although limited) are needed. I'm midway through 5 flower girl dresses (4 are my dgds) and have still to go 2 bridesmaids, and hemming the wedding gown. My living room has turned into a garment factory! But I escape all to often to keep up here!

Enjoy your Saturday,
Ann

Glad to hear Disney will pick up my luggage since I booked thier air. I'm probably the one who spooked everybody in a prior post.

Stephanie-The girls look wonderful.

I expect we'll have a "new" thread over the weekend since we're near the 250 page mark. How will we get to it? (Probably one of your veterans will post a link.)

Lynne - do you already have a new one in the works? Do those of us who have info on the first page need to do it again on the new thread? I am leaving for the day so wanted to check before I left.

decided this cruise and boards are really getting to me - I dreamed last night that our family was linked with another family but the different part is we were all the same room and we got upgraded and they did not and they blamed us because the reservations were linked and I tod them but look on the bright side because we got reassigned their family would have the cabin all to themselves and not have to share with our family (yes I know 2 families of 4 cannot share one cabin in the real world - I said it was a dream :))

So they were going to unlink with us and hope to get an upgrade.

I think this is all getting to me - really!

Hey, that's better than my dream of missing the meet the night before, the PL meet, life boat drill :scared1: AND sail away! I had no idea what was going on and wondering when the ship officers were going to get me because of missing the life boat drill. :rotfl2:

I wonder how they'll do the Castaway Club meet this time? On the WBPC (berfore you had to be gold or platinum to go to the 'party'), they had an on deck party since there were so many repeat cruisers. While CC members were 'invited', it really was for everyone as they didn't restrict/id people in any way.

---On our last 7 day cruise (12/09) under the new Gold/Platinum system, it was held Monday @ 11:00AM - Studio Sea (for 7 days cruises).

Is someone printing out copies (Mini-NAV, spreadsheets) for everyone? (I don't want to be presumptious but don't want to miss the opportunity while home to print out the pages I want and thus create my own Mini-Navigator).

---I think it's probably best for everyone to print out their own copies prior to leaving home ... otherwise, the organizers will have to print and collate 300-400 copies of each list ... put them in their carry-in luggage, and physically carry them on the ship, while they meander through lunch at Topsiders - since they will not have access to their luggage. It's still up to the organizer, but I think it makes sense to make things easier on them, whenever possible.

A few weeks ago I thought I read that it wasn't going to be possible...but then recently someone said that they were going to take the train...

I've booked Seville On Your Own thru DCL but would rather take the train...can someone fill me in on what current info you have on traveling to Sevilla that day by train. Thanks!

This is what I found out:
It looks like we can get a train from Cadiz to Seville for 12.75 Euros each way. I can take and 8:55 train out and arrive in Seville at 10:48 and then return to Cadiz at 6:08 and arriving at 8:04.

There is one leaving Cadiz at 8:05 AM, but that may be cutting it close.

I have not booked the ticket yet, but may soon. The web site is http://www.renfe.es/ (but it is all in Spanish and I need to make sure I am doing what I really want.

Stephanie...I know it has already been said but ...awesome pics of the DDs!

I was hoping I could ask a favor of the FE 1 group.... could you put your childs age next to their names on the google/excell spreadsheet???
I did try to get age appropriate things for the kids... and so this woud make it way easier when I put together the kid goodie bags...if I had it all in one place... I will have their names and room #s on them if at all possible

Thanks:thumbsup2

Blessings in disguise....snow cancelled my last two philosophy classes...so the final test is an open book essay. :woohoo:

Many people have mentioned enjoying various craft hobbies. How many of you enjoy scrapbooking? Just looking for others that enjoy the same hobby as me.

I'm not bringing scrapbook stuff to work on as there just isn't enough room in an airplane to bring my crap (I'm mean scrap) stuff back. :rotfl2:

Kristi

You have one here; however, I must admit I am more of a collector of scrapbook supplies and materials than an actual scrapbooker!:rotfl2:

Riddle me this......WHY do I have to sit through hours of skiing and curling and god knows what else just to see a few ladies ice skate? :headache:Come on![/QUOTE]

My kid and I were thinking the same thing. Then, the kid says "I remember when I was little we could watch the skating all night long." It was not that long ago! Oh well, channel surf until they get around to the skating again!

Not sure where we have planned on setting up - I am thinking at seats on the main aisle near the bathrooms?

Last two times I was in the terminal there were a couple of round tables (with chairs) just to the left of the elevators (before the check in lines). In Sept. that's where we set up lanyard distribution. Plus, I bet if the first lanyard team memebers who arrive ask, DCL will set something up for you. :thumbsup2

"To each his own", I always say ... I was just trying to stake my "OWN" claim! :rotfl:

Besides, I plan on OBSERVING from the Observation Tower (Outlook Bar). :confused3

Oh yeah, that would be me too! I'm so far behind!

Yes, STILL catching up from Thu. night...DS's black belt test starting last night sort of completely occupied my time lately.

When the mini-nav is ready, I am hoping to post it on the web site so people can print it out before leaving home. I will bring some extra copies with me, but hope not to have to carry 100+ copies on the plane with me...

Slightly off topic - but not really ... seemed practical for those of us online ...

MY LIVING WILL

Last night, I was talking to my wife, and said, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

DW Donna got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my beer!
:lmao:

I've had a REALLY bad day today. I was suppose to have an MRI but the idiots at Shands booked me at the wrong MRI and I didn't find out until last night. When I called today, I can't get into the right MRI until March 19th.

Some personal stuff occurred and I had to go ahead and take today off work to deal with them (the phone counselor I talked to was not really all that helpful - he sounds like he was reading from a script).

Anyway, I'm a bit better now (4pm) after a LONG nap - just drained.

Thanks for listening, I promise I won't have ISSUES on the cruise. That's what the cruise is for.... leaving all the "......" behind.

She who dies with the most fabric wins!

I said I brought home a dozen or so pieces of fabric from Hawaii - last night I counted, and it was 20 pieces of 4-5 yards each. Good thing the USPS has flat-rate packages - so I could mail it all home.

And all of this talk of continuing upgrades prompted me to call DCL again about our room assignment. If you remember from several pages back, we were unhappy b/c we were placed in the room right next to the laundry room. I had read that some people had been bothered by the noise and heat coming from the laundry room. I knew that since this was a longer cruise (and most of us are bringing bare minimums when it comes to clothing) that there would be increased usage of the laundry rooms at all hours of the day and night. Both my husband and I called DCL when we received the assigment but were given the old "there's nowhere to move you to" speech.

I called back today and talked to an extremely nice supervisor named Marina. I explained the situation to her and told her that I was aware that DCL was still upgrading rooms and that almost all of the categories (especially inside) were still being sold so I "knew" there was some leeway as to locations available. She agreed to move us and put us in cabin 6083 -- still a nice mid-ship location, but further away from the laundry room. She said that she couldn't upgrade us any further b/c DCL "can only upgrade you to another category that sleeps 3... we have to save upgrades to rooms that sleep 4 for larger parties". :confused3 Whatever. I said that the 1 category upgrade was fine and the move was even better!

So I am proud to say that the squeaky wheel gets the grease and we are in Cabin 6083! Any neighbors?!

I guess I wasn't "squeaky" enough when I called them to inquire if my family in Cat. 5 would be receiving an upgrade. (I was told point blank-- NO!) Maybe I will try again on Monday, but I am not too hopefull. :confused3

Dee - we need the link to the Master List / FE, SM, Cabin Tag put in your siggie.

Also, Post#2 on Page 1 now has the link listed.

Hi, all! I have been surfing over on the cruise critic boards this afternoon and I found this thread. It is from someone who lives over in Madeira and I thought I'd post here so all could see the links to the devastation they have. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing this. Just let me know and I'll remove this post if I am.

I had a feeling the first day I saw the pictures it was going to be bad. Those poor people, I hope they are getting all the assistance they need.
