I called AAA today since I've heard that they sell Euros. The deal is that you (I) would pay the exchange rate that they are quoting on the day they are ordered, it takes 24 hours to get them, and if I order less than $1000US, there is a $12 shipping fee. For anything $1000 or over, the shipping fee is waived. I'm going to talk to the bank tomorrow, but there's no way I need $1000 in Euros, and I'm wondering if I'm better with US travelers checks (from the safety standpoint) despite the lower exchange rates that will probably be available.
