I am not trying to make this turn ugly at all. I just think that by me posting a picture of dresses I bought for my daughters to become a debate. If someone does not feel comfortable buying items like this then don't. I just don't think others who do need to be called out on it.

Everyone does things like this and it is not just at Disney. If we want to split hairs, tshirts with iron on transfers, our magents, all of it, are breaking copyright.

I am not trying to cause a problem. I felt "attacked" so to say bc this was NEVER brought up whenever anything else was shown...just the dresses I bought for my dd's. Then I post a link and again it seems as if I did something else wrong. There is a lot in this world that I don't agree with.

I am sorry if I took it the wrong way. I was just trying to share a picture. I did not want it to become a debate. I felt as if I was being attacked and I am sorry if I took things the wrong way.

Mum and I both have disney embroidery machines and they are personal use only. We will be wearing items we have made. We are not allowed to sell them though. I have made Mum, DD and myself matching patchwork skirts from disney fabrics. It will be fun!!

My mom has a Bernina and bought the Mickey head embroidery pattern and made a ton for my girlies for our WB PC. Bibs, coverups, shirts, etc. So fun! I want a machine! I love customs!! You can find Mickey customs all over etsy and ebay. Just search for Mouse.

...I bought my own airfare...I just have disney transfers to the barcelona airport (disney airfare was too expensive). As long as I get to the airport as early as required...I think I will be fine.

I just remembered that we bought our own airfare and used DCL transfers for our return on our last cruise.... Shut, still doesn't help me since our flight is so early. darn! I may see if we can arrange something once we are on board. I would love to not have to deal with the luggage!

DCL is changing their kids programs...sounds way cool!

I know that this set up will help my 3 year old (almost 4 on cruise) want to stay at the Clubs with her older sisters. I just worry that she'll get lost amongst the older ones. Her oldest sister is really great about keeping an eye on her, but that's a lot to ask of someone in the Clubs. Maybe my baby and Madison can pal around with the older girls.

I will be sending out the name assignments today or tomorrow. Just waiting on a few last glitches and then we will be all set.

I'm excited about this! My dd5 (just turned 5 last week) is still in preschool and will probably mostly interested in the preschoolish activities (used to be billed as 3-4 group) even thought technically she would normally be placed in the 5-7 group (more early grade school focus).

My older dd is 7, but in second grade so, in the old system, both dd's would be in the same group. However, their interests/abilities are so different and at the extremes of the age range. However, this allows each dd to move up or down depending on their interests (including dd7 doing Lab activities).

For those folks who have some concerns, I wouldn't worry too much on THIS cruise since there will be so few children overall. I suspect the CM's will be able to easily welcome, get to know, and attend to all of our children and shower them with lots of attention.

I can understand some apprehension when the CM's are dealing with the -
typical load of 1000 or so kids. However, when you think about the fact that:

there is an estimated 300 kids or so total
divided among all the age ranges (although I know it is skewed some)
that some kids won't be really interested in the kid's activities much at all they won't all be in the activities at the same time.

All of our kids should be pretty well cared for on this cruise. We're going to get spoiled!

P.S. This is not to discredit any concerns of anyone who has voiced them. Of course, all concerns are valid--I'm just suggesting that different way to think about the uniqueness of this cruise in regards to the new youth activity approach.

At first I was worried about these changes. Mostly for my 4yo. I was worried that older kids would take over activities. I think however after seeing this video a few weeks ago I am excited about it. The one frustrating thing with the clubs was that if the 4yo's were making cookies when we were doing something else then they never really got the chance to do it again. Now the girls can do whatever activities they want whenever they are in there. I am too now a believer...well I guess I should see how it all goes on board.

I get up at 530am for work...I sure won't be doing that on the cruise though yuck. For me personally 10 or 11 would probably be the latest I'd want something like that to start so I could actually focus on what's going on and not be wishing I was in bed.

Christmas Organizing Workshop at Sea

This is a good video of the Wonder passing the Magic in port last weekend.

Was able to see some parts of the ship I hadn't seen before: the lookout for the captain on the side - I think he has a clear look-through spot on the floor [according to a show I saw on the Travel Channel] (you can see the crew standing there), the crew pool and balconies on the front (fore) on decks 5 & 6 - anybody know what they are used for?

I guess I will be taking the ship tour on one of the Sea Days. I hoping to take in a bunch of tours and talks.

Dee ... I think it's a great idea (makes sense) for people to check with you to schedule future events. I can't remember specifics for a lot of events, and only kept records of certain events.

Also, I mentioned this once or twice before (little response, if any). On other cruise lines, members of CruiseCritic.com have requested a small gathering (mini-mixer) with ship officers / staff during the cruise (at a time and location convenient to the ship's staff, if available). Some cruise lines have sent a hand-full of officers, sometimes with light refreshments ... some even send the captain! I'm not expecting DCL to spend $ or provide anything ... just a chance to mingle, and talk turkey (er, uh, CRUISE, etc).

Your thoughts: IS GOOD - or IS NO GOOD?
