I have not ordered my FE yet. I wanted one with Goofy , Mickey and Minnie but can't seem to find anyone that will make that combination. Some will just glue names on and I wanted them sewed on. Anyone have any suggestions. I am getting nervous that time is going by fast and I haven't done this yet. I am the type that does things ahead of time but for some reason I am procrastating on this.

Happy Goofy, I got mine on ebay from Graddysmom. She also makes ones with embroidered characters on them. She also does embroidered pillow cases so I'm sure you could order whatever characters you want.

Hi all,
We'll probably get one 7-night wine package but are planning on picking up some more wine since we have 3 adults. From what I recall there's no limit as to how much you can bring onboard with your right? You just have to be able to lug it around until your room is ready. Is this correct?

I thought I read something about ALL alcohol - indicating you were permitted to bring alcohol on board - but supposedly, only enough for a celebratory drink during sail away (so how much can you drink during sail away!?). In the past, we put the alcohol in our luggage before it goes on the DCL bus, or before it goes through DCL screening. So long as the dogs do not hit on it ... nobody will know (except, possibly your stateroom host).

If you buy alcohol while in port, throw it in a back pack ... DCL screeners do not see it all the time ... especially if concealed in a different bottle. If you are staying overnight in FL - consider buying locally, instead of bringing with you on the plane.

DH carried a 30 pack of beer on the ship in Key West. So it was past the sail away and no one cared. He did not even have it in a bag.

From DCL website...

Alcohol is permitted on board. However, be aware that any fragile items (including bottled alcohol) must be hand-carried on board in a day bag and/or carry-on bag, the dimensions of which cannot exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep. Guests who request a Wine Steward to open and serve a bottle of champagne, wine or liquor that has been brought onboard will be charged a corking fee of $15.00 per bottle.

Please be advised: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage.

While it may not be "correct" in the rules/by laws - it CAN be done.

For my 7nt cruise in Sept I took 6 bottles of wine, 1 bottle of rum, 1 bottle of Baileys & 1 bottle of vodka (NOT all for me :lmao:). I packed all of this in my rolly-polly cooler and lugged it around w/ me. (I came back w/ 3 bottles of wine plus the Baileys).

Container needs to be able to fit through the screening machine.

DON"T pack it in your suitcase!

I plan to bring some stuff on board with me this time, but in a different type suitcase (small rolly-polly hardcase) that I will use as my carryon on the flight home (or can check it IF I need to).

Hope that helps!

Okay, I am ashamed of NBC; maybe horrified is a better word. I tuned in for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics (which probably doesn't start until 7pm CST) and they start reporting the sad news of the death of a Georgian luger.

Then they show the accident - including the impact which caused his death! Then the resuscitation attempt. I guess with all the deaths we have seen on TV and movies, they think this is no big deal. I personally don't want to watch someone dying; I can feel sorrow without having to be a witness.

Does everybody get lanyards and name tags?
...

Yes. There is a Lanyard Team purchasing them to give to all the DISboarders (unless you specify that you do NOT want one. That is why we want to know the correct spelling of your first name (or whatever you want to be called). Your name tag will list both your name & your user name.

A sample name tag is shown below in my signature box.

You will be able to pick up your lanyard+name tag at:
1. Cruise Eve Meet at the Country Inn & Suites in Port Canaveral (time TBD)
2. Disney Terminal at Port Canaveral before boarding
3. DISboard Meet & Greet (3:00 - 3:45pm) in the Deck 3 Promenade Lounge just before the Life Boat Drill
4. After that, we will hunt you down and deliver, since we have a full pride of cougars.

Do most of you put/Have your LAST names on your Fish Extenderor not?

I have my DIS name on mine...

Yes - We have 2 for the family (for when more of us are sailing) - one says cruising with Aunt Lynne; the other has my sister & nieces' last name.

Did you look on Ebay? She makes the type like the one Steven has posted.

I still need to get a new one myself. ... Kristi

Actually, what you have posted on your website for DISCruiseNewbies is actually the other 3rd family travelling with us. Sorry if that was confusing as they don't have a DISboard name yet.

Get them posting so I can put names & user names together correctly! Don't they know it is only FIFTY-SIX Days until sailing. And you West Coasters are not flying in on Saturday, I bet.

I had seen a photo of the person flying over the edge on cnn. But I was surprised to see the actual footage of the accident. :sad2: It was touching that they had a black streamer on the Georgia flag and the delegation had on black arm bands.

Here's a piece of fabric I bought in Hawaii. Karen (16) was quite excited when I showed it to her:

She wants to make a dress to wear on the cruise. :lmao:

BEAUTIFUL. And to think I only went in a scrapbook store and bought paper. Never thought of fabric. Well, next trip.

When in Hawaii, check out the fabric section of Wal-Mart. All the islands' stores have a great selection of tropical prints.

When I saw the lime green material, I had to have it.

QOTD: Will you partake of the Drink of the Day?
(now offering non-alcoholic DoD - Drink of the Day)

P1000618.jpg

This is a non-alcoholic lava slide - strawberries in pina colada base -
from Kimo's on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui

Lynne, seriously you are making me mental; i didn't even get to kimos for a virgin lava flow. :headache: You must be wondering what Tony and I did; little and it was SO GREAT.

Just make sure there's a bottle of Rosa Regale in there, sistah! :lmao:

How early are folks risking for flights out of Barcelona Sat morning?

.

I think there are several on the Aer Lingus flight at 10:45/10:50.

We're looking at the 11AM BA to London and wondering if the 9:20A is doable? How far is that pesky airport from the ship?? Even though the ship has cleared customs on Friday, will they have agent's there for people to get through early? I'm thinking not before the 8AM posted debarkation time.
