**30 Day Shred Challenge**

I would love to join this group. I need to lose about 15 pounds before June when we're going on a cruise, and then in July I'm in my sister's wedding, and then in August we're going to Disney (and it's free dining, so I know I'll gain a couple back then.) The 30 day shred sounds great--I'll get it this weekend.
 
So I started the workout on Monday and yesterday I could barely move! I am so out of shape! Anyway, I didn't do it yesterday (I know I should have) but I seriously couldn't even get up and down the stairs. So I'm going to do it tonight, even though I'm still very sore. This is depressing.
 
You all were so right...day 2 was surprisingly a little easier. I could do all the jumping jacks this morning! I am VERY SORE, though!!!!
 
Okay, I'm in. Today was my B-day so I wanted to wait so that I could have cake. I am in for the 30 day shred. My Dh says he'll join me.

I want to lose about 15lbs. I have no real deadline except that I want it to stay off for good! I only have 3 weeks until my vacation, so that's too short of time.

I will get the 30 day shred tomorrow. Here's to getting this darn "baby weight" off (my baby is almost 3) for good!

I would love to join. I'm going out this morning to get the DVD, haven't decided if I'm going to start tomorrow or Sunday. I'm looking to loose my baby weight (9 month old:rolleyes1) plus an extra 10 pounds or so... approx 30 pounds total. I'm already following the Couch to 5K to be ready to run in the Family Fun 5 k at disney in March (should have been the princess 1/2 but I couldn't consistantly manage to find time to train) so I'm running 3 nights a week and I think this will be my alternating workout (is it reccommended for daily use or every other day?) I'm also following South Beach Diet which allowed me to loose 50 pounds 4 years ago and keep it off for about 2 years... then I started running, got into worse eating habbits, but kept it off thanks to the exercise... got pg, did squat with exercise and started eating HORRIBLY, which I can't seem to stop (I lost 20 pounds having my DD; have managed to ADD 10 of that back on and off and on over the past 9 months:rolleyes1) now it's time to get back on the ball. I'd like to have 10 pounds off by my trip in March.:woohoo:

I'm starting to get a little frustrated b/c I haven't lost an ounce...although it may be getting close to that time of the month where I put on 5 pounds temporarily so we'll see...

Here's a recipe website I use a lot http://weight-watchers-points-recipes.blogspot.com/ Even if you're not following weight watchers the recipes are low calorie, low fat and delicious!! Most of the recipes don't have too many ingredients either which is wonderful! Enjoy!
 
Finished day 1 of 30 day shred. That was hard. My drill sergeant (dd12) made fun of the trouble I was having so I had her try it. She isn't laughing any more.

I decided to measure today so I can see if I lose inches even if I don't lose weight at first. They say that muscle weighs more than fat so we shall see.

Edited to add I was wrong about muscle weigh more. Thank you for setting me right. :)

Diet Day 1
Well, I was not able to go get the shred today. We are in the middle of a blizzard. I had at least planned to workout at Curves tonight, but my DH ditched the car on the way home. Both he and the car are fine, but I did not exercise as planned. I'm going to at least try to do some Pilates tonight.

As for eating, I did pretty well. I am doing a basic 1200 calorie diet, high protein, high fruits and veggies, low fat, no sugar. I did eat one bite of cake and ice cream when my son couldn't finish the piece I saved for him of my birthday cake yesterday. He never eats the last bite of anything for some reason. Otherwise, I did fine.

Goal for tomorrow - workout, no sweets
 
I'd like to join in too! I actually started the 30 Day shred on Jan 1. I did it every day except last night I ran because I needed a break from Jillian Michaels. I really need to lose my baby weight. My DD is almost 6 months old. I've lost 15 of the 35 I gained during pregnancy but now that I stopped breastfeeding I've hit a wall. I'm sure I hit the wall long ago but didn't realize it. I'd like to lose 25 more, so hopefully having to post what I do everyday will help. This workout is a killer and I'm still not able to do every move full out, but hopefully soon enough. This is not a true statement. Muscle does not weigh more than fat. Muscle is denser than fat. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat, but a pound of fat takes up more space than a pound of muscle.

Kind of like comparing a pound of rocks to a pound of feathers. A pound is a pound, but the feathers, being lighter will take up more space.
 
I am in! I actually can't believe I came across this thread as I am sitting here feeling sorry for myself and my bad eating as of late while I chow down on cheetos at 10:00 at night. It was like it was fate to find you all!

I am usually a very healthy eater and I work out 5 days a week but here is what kills me and sets me back EVERY month...PMS! Severe PMS runs in my family and my eating becomes just nuts. So much so that I gain 5 lbs of more every month. I always lose it afterward but yo-yoing like that is just not healthy for me physically or mentally. It is hard. So my hubby and I talked about what I could do. I decided I just need to really ( i mean REALLY) commit to health and exercise even through pms. I always find that I don't work out quite as much for the week around that time and I eat way more on top of it. So I have made a descion. I am not going to let this drag me down anymore! I am committed to fighting this and I will win!

It is going to be so great having this thread! I happen to already own the 30 day shred so I will begin tomorrow. I am so excited! Jillian makes me so mad but she also makes me try harder. I have other Biggest Loser Work outs too. Cardio Max is SUPERB for your backside! I do that one the most because it changed the shape of my buns so much! But I need Jillian to really motivate! And you guys too!:goodvibes

I have this same problem. I even get so sick that I have been known to pass out from pms (yes I have talked to Drs.) I even have 2 sets of pants since my regular ones are to tight during pms.

I am also a stress eater. I am feeling a lot of stress right now and pms is starting. I am hopping this thread will keep me on track.

Getting ready for day 2 of 30 day shred. Would be easier if my legs did not hurt so bad I had trouble getting down the stairs this morning.

I just finished day one of the shred. I am such a wimp! I workout regularly. The cardio and the abs were fine, but the weights - Aaahhh! After the first circuit, I put the weights down and used nothing. I hate reality checks. Oh well! Here's to it being easier tomorrow!

I have the opposite problem. The weights and abs are no problem for me, but the cardio kills me.

I just finished day 2 and my legs are killing me. I must be doing something wrong, because only my legs hurt.
 
I did the workout yesterday for the first time. I can't even move my arms today and I only used 3 lb weights. Ugh! My arms are killing me!!!!
 
Day 2

Eating wise I did fine today. I stayed within my calories and made good choices. I did my 1st day of the shred and I can already tell that I'm going to hurt tomorrow! I also went to Curves tonight. So, today was a good day.

Tomorrow will be a real challenge. I am going out to eat at a restaurant that I love where I do not intend to eat within my calorie range (it is a place we only go for our birthday 2x per year.) My goal is to at least make decent choices.

By the way, DH is doing the 1st day of the shred as I type this. He says that he is dying! At least I won't be the only one sore tomorrow!
 
So I changed my eating yesterday and this morning the scale showed a 2 lb loss:thumbsup2 I was following Weight Watchers but the scale actually went up:scared1: I signed up online with the website included in the 30 day shred and Jillian is saying 1200-1400 calories a day to lose weight. So I figured out how many calories my points were allowing me and it was WAY more than that! So as of now I'm counting calories-which is also a LOT easier!

Wow it sounds like everyone is doing very well with this so far :goodvibes I skipped workout last night :scared1: but on Thursday (day 7) I did the workout full-out for the first time with no modifications and did almost every single rep. So Friday I woke up and my whole back was killing me. Lifting my arms was also a chore. So I decided to take a day to heal up. I've change my eating habits too, but my scale is not moving at all. However, I can see a change in my thighs and around the middle.

It does get easier everybody. Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2
