**30 Day Shred Challenge**

ugh.. I had planned on picking up the DVD on Friday... got to the B&N close to my house and they had just sold out... went online to order it and was told it should be here by Wed next week, just got an e-mail this morning stating that my order had been delayed 1-5 days. Sounds like TONS of people are ordering this DVD right now. Hoped to start this week.. looks like it could be next week before I get to start. Oh well... on a good front, I've lost 8 pounds this week thanks to South Beach Diet and Couch to 5K running program:cool1: I know it's mostly water weight, but from experience, I know it will stay off as long as I stick with this way of life.
 
I am on day two of getting my healthy habits back to me. I have set a goal with myself and my incentive is that I am going to run the 5k in WDW in Oct. I know a 5k isn't much but is will be great incentive to really keep in shape. I did the workout yesterday and I am good with level 1. It is level 2 I am nervous about! We will see how it goes and how sore I am when I reach day 11...
 
I went to the gym today and did 20 minutes of weights and then ran for 30 minutes. For those of you doing Couch to 5K--it's a great program. If you can stick with it, you can run a 5K in 3 months. I started it last January and did my first 5K at the end of March. I ran a lot this spring, summer, and fall, but once the cold weather hit, I don't want to run outside and also just haven't been able to get to the gym as much. I bought the DVD today and 5 lb weights. I'm thinking now, though, that those may be too much????? I do arm exercises every night with 10 lb weights, so maybe I'll be ok tomorrow with 5. I guess I'll see tomorrow. I have lost a few pounds this week just by going back to work. At school, I only can eat what I bring, whereas at home I can eat whatevers in the house. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
 
I really messed up yesterday. I won't let it get me off track but... We celebrated my Dad's birthday yesterday and I had a small piece of cake with a little ice cream. I didn't want to pass up the treat and I wanted to help celebrate. No biggie right, just count it into the points for the day. Problem was when I got home I had dinner, homemade chicken soup and a grilled cheese. Not too bad, right? Except I forgot to add in the grilled cheese to my points. My DH was making cocktails and I had 2, thinking I still had points left. Today I realized my mistake and added it in. I went 10 points over :sad2: Now I have no 'extra' points left for the week and I used up 2 of my exercise points. I know today I just have to be careful and only use my set points but it just kinda stinks that I let this happen. I was so looking forward to the scale going down tomorrow and knowing I worked hard.

Okay, sorry, rant over. Just needed to share. Now I'm going to go work out. :thumbsup2
 

here's my progress for yesterday:

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I went out for my Birthday to a naughty, carb heavy meal. all in all, I ended up eating around 1600 calories for the day- not too bad. I avoided the potatoes, gravy, and even my free b-day sundae.

I was unable to do the shred b/c we lost power for the whole afternoon :scared1: Being my house was freezing, we stayed away for the evening, but did not eat out. I did workout at Curves in the morning, though.

As for today, DH is insisting that we do the shred twice today to makeup for yesterday. We did our morning workout. I was shocked. It was only the 2nd day for me and while some of the 1st day was really hard, today wasn't bad at all. I did the whole thing and with weights - only 1 lb though instead of the 3lb I tried before. DH was so pooped he just laid on the floor during the stretching. We'll see how he feels about doing it again this eveing :)
 
For anyone still looking for the 30 day shred DVD Walmart has it in their sporting goods section. It was $9 at the store or $8.86 online.

OMG that workout is tough! I like my Wii much better, although I guess I'm not hitting all the key target areas like on the video workout. I like the reverse crunches. I can really feel that one working and I'm one of those with the belly pooches Jillian was talking about.

Keep at it everyone. I'm looking forward to successes for us all! :yay:
 
Could not work out this morning so I did the work out this evening. Seems to make a big difference. The work out seemed so much harder in the evening.

Not sure what I did, but I felt a bad pain right before the cool down part. I could go no further, because of the pain. The pain seems to have dimmed to a dull ache now, but I feel like I am going to throw up.

I guess I learned something from this. Do my workouts in the morning before the day wears me out. Unfortunatly there are 2 days a week I will have to do the workout later in the day. Sunday mornings are rushed for church and Wednesday mornings are rushed for the YMCA.

I have the 30 Day Shred and elliptical cross trainer at home....hoping to start a new healthier and more active lifestyle. I am going to need the motivation, good thing I found this post :)

Ok, time to own up everyone! I'm down 3 lbs :thumbsup2 And I'm pretty happy because yesterdays was FIL bday and of course there was cake, ice cream, and food that was not very diet friendly...and if that wasn't enough we went to parents for dinner for Carbonara. which is basically oil, bacon, and cheese with a hefty side of carbs:rotfl: I tried to keep my portions down on everything and thankfully the scale didn't creep back up this morning!! Hope everyone else has some good news, too!!! Week 1 down:banana:
 
I'm down 3 1/2 from last Monday. Today was day 2 of Jillian. My daughters yesterday were surprised how nice she was! They kept asking when she was going to be mean. My arms are definitely sore today and it sure was hard getting up in the dark to exercise. Oh well--it will be worth it.
 
I am only down a pound, but at least I am down not up. Maybe next week will see more of a change.
 
I am down 1.5 lbs. We did not do Jillian a 2nd time last night to make up for the day before. We had a naughty dessert instead. :scared1:

I won't let that get me down though. Today is a new day. Today will be day 3 of Jillian. Come on girl! Whip me into shape!
 
Lost 3.1 pounds! :woohoo:

Anyone else take a "5 second break" at the end of each exercise :rolleyes1

Yesterday I took a break (and paused the video) between each circuit of level 1. Today I made it through all in one turn. (w/ 5 second water breaks of course :rolleyes: )
 
I'm in! I started the 30 day shred last week. I did day five today. I hope it gets easier. Not sure if I'll be ready for level 2 next week. I would love to get to level 3 someday. Good luck everyone!
 
I lost 5 lbs since last Monday! However, it's mostly because I had a nasty stomach virus this weekend and couldn't eat anything besides applesauce and crackers all day Saturday and Sunday. Going to work out tonight again since I was able to eat today. Hopefully I'm not starting from scratch but I'm sure I'll be sticking with Level 1 for a few more days. Maybe a little help from nature was all I needed to kick start my weight loss :lmao:

I went from 239lb to 195lb (yes I know, still too heavy). I attribute most of that to the fantastic Shred. I lost 2.5 inches off my waist in the first month of the Shred. I was so happy I could cry. I'm back on the Shred (after a hiatus). It's hard. I think being fat is hard and losing weight is hard. I'm choosing my hard.
 
Day 3 on the Shred. Still counting pooints and doing the 20 min workouts on the Wii too. I think I need a day off or I'm gonna burn out soon.

Has anyone tried every other day on the Shred? Do you still see results?

I just found this thread and was hoping I could join all of you?? We are going to Disney at the end of April for my DD Make a Wish Trip and I really want to feel good being in the pictures, not totally self conscious!!!:goodvibes

I started WW yesterday and seem to be doing ok so far!! I think I might order the 30 day shred too!!

I am hoping to lose about 15-20lbs. I weighed in today at 168.8:scared1:

Okay. Did day 3 of the Shred today. I ate pretty well. I really, really, really want sweets today. So far, I have resisted. If my DH gets home in time I am hoping to go to Curves and get my 30 minutes in there. Not much to report.

I hope that you are all having lots of success!
