I’ve booked many DCL cruises but never with Costco. Exploring now how this works for my next one.Yes - you need to have the membership when you book the travel, when you take the travel, and when they pay out - so if you want the executive benefits then you need to have it that whole time.
I booked a placeholder with no TA. I can transfer to Costco within 30 days. I am going to sign up for a Costco membership. For the executive 2% back how does that work? Is it on the total price of the cruise (minus port taxes?)? Does it matter how the cruise is paid for?
Same for the Costco cash cards? That 7-8% back is on full cruise fare even if I pay with Disney Gift Cards?
I’m wondering if I can buy Disney Gift cards at 5% discount at target and then use those to pay for cruise. Would I get the 2% executive cash back on full cruise fare even if paid with Disney Gift Cards?
And then going forward can I use my Costco Cash Back to buy more Disney Gift Cards and rinse and repeat?
I don’t think I would need the Costco Citi card for 3% back because I can do better with 5% discount at Target for Disney Gift Cards, yes?
Anything else I am missing on the money part of it?
