**30 Day Shred Challenge**

did the workout yesterday. Not doing so great on the diet yet. I did drink more water and made sure I took my vitamins and medicine. DH will watch the game today and we will have snacks, so I'm planning on starting the diet tomorrow. I always do better when I'm working and on a schedule anyway. I will do the workout again today though. I think I'll make Mondays my weigh-in day. It will keep me on track for the weekends. :thumbsup2

We can have Monday's be our official weigh-in day--I agree it's a great way to curb the weekend binges!

If everyone wants to post what their goal weight loss (don't need a weight number unless you want just #'s you want to lose) is and I will put it by your name on the beginning of the thread and we can keep a running tally of how everyone's doing:cool1:

i would like to join too. i've always wanted to run the 1/2 marathon at disney. i will buy the dvd this week. i also will get on my treadmill and bike. I would like to lose 40 lbs.:cheer2:

I need to lose 50+ but I'm going to be reasonable and say 30 lbs.

I tracked my points today and didn't go over like I thought I would. I even earned activity points :yay: Nice head start for my day 1 tomorrow!

I am all set to start tomorrow. Maybe being accountable to this group will keep me on track.

I love the 30 day shred. I have been running instead but it has been too cold for me to try.

At this point I will set a goal of 20 pounds. I need to lose more but I think this will be a nice start. :)

I would love to join you guys! My goal is to lose 20 pounds for now. I completed my first workout earlier today!

My diet and exercising are starting to pay off. Although I do not really feel like I have lost weight, both my scale and my Wii Fit say that I have lost about 6 pounds!:dance3:

According to the goal I set on my Wii Fit (which was to get to 165 pounds in three months) I am only 6.6 pounds away from my goal:banana:! I have not weighed 165 in the last 10 years (except for the time I was violently ill during my entire first pregnancy and dropped down to 159 due to constant vomiting:sick:. Since I am doing so well so far, I may have to consider dropping my goal weight down to 160 and see if I can hit it:cool2:.

Keep up the good work everyone! Pretend your carrots and celery are chocolate and caramel! Every salad is really an ice cream sundae in disguise:3dglasses.

Mommytoe checking in.
Only started today so no weight loss yet. I am starting at about 178 depending on the scale and clothes I am wearing. My goal at this time is 145, but that might change over time depending on how things go. That will be a weight loss of 33lbs to start with.

I do what to loose more than 33lbs, but thought I would start with a smaller goal.

I can't believe I found level 1 of the 30-day shred so hard! When did I become so...unfit??? I'm going to set up smaller monthly goals, I'm hoping for 15 lbs this January. Have a great week everyone!

Ok....I could not get through the Phase 1 on day 1. I had to pause it a couple of times. I really thought I was going to pass out at one point. Is this normal...I am planning to keep trying it and hoping that it will get easier. I am sore today, too!

First off, good for you for taking the first step and trying it!!! It is a VERY difficult workout and suprisingly enough it does get easier every day. On day 1 for me I couldn't do the jumping rope move with both my feet coming off the floor at the same time. So I modified it and just alternated feet for that move. Day 2 I was able to do the move properly.

Also yesterday I had trouble finishing the workout with the bicycle crunches (my abs are bad...blaming it on my c-section!!) so I switched to regular crunches for the rest of the time.

I think what's most important is to keep moving for 20 minutes. If something is getting too hard either take a quick 5 second break or bring a modified version of the move in so you're still moving. Eventually your stamina will catch up to the video and you won't have to modify anymore....at which point you'll move to Level 2 and start all over again:scared1:

Congrats on your w/l so far!!! When did you start working out and dieting?

Is it a good sign when sit ups gets easier? I did 2x the sit ups today as yesterday. Of course today I had a drill sergent (my dd12.)

Thank you for the encouragement. I will keep trying...

So glad to see that everyone is continuing to push through with the exercising. :cheer2:

This was my 5th day. It's getting easier. I'll have to push it up another level in a couple of days.

I'm starved today. Having trouble staying out of the fridge. I've used all my points already and all my exercise points. I'd dip into my weekly points but I'm afraid to make that a habit. I guess I'll just have to push through this as well and it will be easier next time.

I have a couple questions about the 30 day shred... I need to lose min 50lbs ideally like to lose 70lbs to where I would be comfortable. My mom gave me a 6month gym membership for Christmas and I have been going 4 days a week since the week before thanksgiving (it was a early christmas present), but I would like to find something that I could do before I go to work. Just a 20 minute DVD as I leave for work by 6:15 and at this point can't get out of the bed any earlier then 5 lol How long is the workout and is it done all at one time, or is it an AM and PM workout. I couldn't really find alot of info about it when I googled it. TIA

Try the p90x 10 minute trainer.. I personally have not tried it (but I'm going to start.. some.. .day ;) ) My husband does it though and I've seen the results on him and its wonderful, He also HATES working out so he loves that it is only 10 minutes a day.

I think it's a great workout to get your body back into the groove of working out since the workout is only 20 minutes. In 20 minutes Jillian combines strength training, cardio, and abs in circuit training so your body doesn't rest which is supposed to help the results along. There are 3 different Levels. Yous start at Level 1 and by day 10 you should progress to Level 2, day 20 Level 3. It's a great workout-I've already seen a difference in the way my body looks-in particular my stomach area (which has been a HUGE problem since my c-section)

Good luck!

I got the 30 day shred in the mail yesterday. I will use it for the first time tomorrow. I know I should use it today, but I already spent 2 hours on the track at the YMCA while my girls used the climbing wall.
