30-40-somethings... sad news.

for those of us in that age range, this is a sad day.

Today, one of the original MTV vj's, JJ Jackson passed away at the age of 62.

Along with Alan Hunter, Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood and Martha Quinn, JJ brought video music into millions of American homes, including mine. He was the one who presided over the unveiling of the members of KISS.

He has been hosting a weekly, syndicated radio show called The Beatle Years. Thoughts and prayers to the Jackson family, and thanks to JJ Jackson for all the joy he brought into the world.

He was my favorite of the original VJs. Those were the best days of MTV, IMO. All music, all the time. Sorry to hear about his passing.

Wow, that is sad news. I didn't realize he was that old. I guess he was on the air 23 years ago this summer.

Sad, I still remember watching him on MTV. We had one of those cable boxes where you had to slide the little thingy across the #'s to choose the channel.

I remember when they first came on they had maybe 20 videos in there entire rotation, too sad . I remember those cable boxes too with a wire that ran to the TV looking back it wasnt a bad idea at least I wasnt losing the remote all the time.

Ok, now does this make you feel intensely old or what - I can not believe how long ago it was the MTV started. I remember their first airing date. Oh, man, its stuff like this and the fact that kids these days never knew another president beyond Clinton....

Oh, did I just sound like a geeser there or what!

JJ had such a smoooooth voice. He and Martha were my favorites. So sad.
