Our two older kids (8, 6, 3) want to do the half-day (3 hours) Stingray City trip. Disney's cut off age is 6 for their excursion, but Captain Marvin allows younger kids to go on the trip (under 4 is free).

Anyone taken a younger (3 year old) out on the boat? Did they do OK for 3 hours.

Hi MarkLem,
We took our almost 3 yr old son on Captain Marvin's boat last August. We did the all day trip. He did fantastic on the boat. We did have to take turns in the water while the other parent watched him. Captian Marvin himself was our driver and he was very kind to our little guy as was the other guide, Eric. He did not get in the water with the sting rays (he fell asleep). He still talks about how much fun it was on Captain Marvins boat. He was also in awe that Captain M cooked our lunch! I hope you have a great trip! Wish we could be there now!!!!:sunny:

He's young but is into construction vehicles, fire trucks, does tumbling at the local gymnastics, and with the two older siblings, is very outgoing and advanced for his years. I'm thinking the hard part is he will want to go in the water with me? We would also be rotating staying on the boat with him

How rough are the seas? It looks like the obat is not all that big. Does it rock n' roll on the water?

Our sons sound very much alike. He has teenage siblings.Yes, the boat does rock and roll. We all took Bonine (gave my 2yr old benedril, ask your Ped. about what they reccomend) and did fine. My niece felt awfull. I am not sure if she took anything. They had life jackets for all of us. I did take my son in the water at one of our stops-but he did not stay out long-he was scared. I think how rough the sea is just depends on the day/weather. It was fine when we were there. HTH

We were on the 10-11-03 cruise and would highly, highly, highly recommend Captin Marvin's. We did the half day and had no problem with the boat ride ... our guide (one of his son's) was so nice to everyone and especially the kids. We had one family with a 2 year old - her parents put on one of those bathing suits with the foam flotation built right in and she swam with "the fishies"in her dad's arms. Where you get in with the stingrays it's ony about 3 or 4 feet deep. IT WAS A BLAST. Don't miss it. A short 2 or 3 block walk from where you dock.
