3 Generations Wandering the Wilderness from "Cabin" Camping to Club Level-FW & WL

Have you looked at the Garden Wing rooms? Same rooms, lower price. I booked those rooms several years ago then got a pin code and upgraded to a Tower lake view. Their beds are the most comfortable at Disney (JMO ;))

I have priced those out & they are definitely more do-able. I just have my heart set on that theme park view. I'm gonna make it happen.....one day! pixiedust:

You have to go over there and look on your next trip. It's amazing what they're doing. Those villas/bungalows are going to be something!!

We're having dinner @ 'Ohana on our last night so I'll definitely be interested in checking out everything going on there. :thumbsup2

Day 4
Last Day at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool :(
Part 1

It was time to rise and shine! This morning was a bit different because mom decided she wanted to cruise around on the golf cart and take in the sights. She really wanted to venture over to see the ruins. ::yes::

Another beautiful day!!! :beach:

And see…no trespassing involved :tiptoe: It’s clearly visible through the holes.

After we ate breakfast, I needed to wash some clothes. Mom and dad took the kids to the pool once again. They never tire of the pool – the kids that is.

Our loop was very close to the laundry facility. It’s actually located at the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool. There are also washers and dryers in each comfort station.

How adorable is the sign?! An old washboard…perfect theming for the Fort!

I wasn’t looking forward to doing laundry on vacation, but it turned out fine. Didn’t take that long, and I was able to leave the clothes while they were washing and drying.

If you want to do laundry, you might want to bring quarters. It was $2.00 per load, and I think I paid $2.00 for the washing detergent.

The pool was empty when the kids arrived. Get there early, I always say :thumbsup2

If your child requires a life jacket, they have them.

There's an arcade located right by the pool in case your teenagers get bored… :confused3

These tables weren’t even claimed, yet…which is highly unusual.

Continued to next post…

Continuation from previous post....

Day 4
Last Day at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool :sad1:
Part 2

And so the water slide routine begins…

This is a no-no at Disney…sliding down backwards. Faith assured me that by the time she got to the end she would be facing forward. :scratchin

And how they love being silly…

How about some underwater action?!:thumbsup2

Games were underway after lunch, and true to form, Stephen joined in. He loves a good competition…not always a graceful loser, though.

Going for the grab…."Run Forest, run!"

…and he just misses him! Stephen’s opponent is too fast.

Before we called it a day at the pool, the kids decided to burn some more energy at the playground (located at the pool).

My three sweet angels…:littleangel:

Up next…. Tri-Circle-D Farm

Your kiddos look sooo grown up now. Beautiful bunch. And can I just say compared to your last trip report this one is moving at breakneck speed!! I can hardly keep up!:moped:

Gosh, your kids really are growing up. But, they are truly just as cute as ever! Y'all always have such fun no matter what y'all are doing & I just love that! :goodvibes

Very nice pool! Looks pretty empty, also. Was Fort Wilderness always that peaceful during your stay?

The one advantage to doing laundry on vacation is that you can pack less clothes, but I still overpack anyway.

Thanks, Jen :goodvibes And yes! We are moving quickly ::yes::  While I'm out of school, I'm taking advantage of my free time. However, the TR will be on pause for several days because we'll be celebrating the 4th at the lake.

Hope y'all are getting excited about your trip:yay: You only have a little over a month!!!

You're very sweet, Amanda:hug: But truth be known :rolleyes1 we usually have our daily fight/argument/tears...something to that nature  And most likely it will be Faith shedding the tears :sad2: Our drama queen! Jesse is the one that always has to be removed from the situation. Fortunately the storms pass quickly. Never a dull moment :teeth:

The pool did get crowded after lunch, but I use that term loosely. Because it was never as crowded as some of the other resort pools we've experienced like the WL and the Poly. There were always chairs available...always. The Fort is so big and spread out that there was no one place that seemed chaotic. The only time you will see tons of people gathered in one place is right before and after the HDDR.

:rotfl: I know the feeling!! I did much better on this trip though. Since I planned to do laundry, I made a conscious effort to pack less.... or at least I tried ;)

The pictures from the Poly are so sad to me!! I also love the resort and cannot imagine if I were to arrive for vacation not knowing the state the resort was in.....yikes! I agree, it will be beautiful when it is complete... This is just growing pains I guess!

Enjoying your trip report very much! Your littles are precious. :) Looking forward to your arrival at WL - we are headed there in 15 days!

I have a feeling that these resort pools will suddenly become a lot less crowded when the fences go up. ;)

I think your plan to spend all this time at the pool is brilliant! Kids love the pool time and that seems to be one of their favorite things to do at Disney.

Well, if it makes you feel any better.....I have that, too. It's just rolled into 1 kid. Reid is soooo overly dramatic about every stinking thing and I have to remove him from situations or at least threaten to. Trust me, I have lots of good reasons why my motto is "One and Done!" :lmao:

Growing pains for sure!! But needed.

WL is coming up quickly! Promise ::yes::

I'm hoping ;) While the Poly and WL always seem crowded to us, it's certainly not a deal breaker by any means. We're dying to try BC/YC and I know that pool can draw tons of people, too. Just part of Disney

We always joke and say that we could spend a week at a Disney pool and the kids would be content:thumbsup2

Enjoy the holiday weekend!!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks!!! :goodvibes Y'all too!!!

You have been an updating machine!! I love it!!!!

Downtown Disney is in quite a state, isn't it? SO much construction. But I have faith that it will all be worth it when complete! Putting HoB on my "to try" list. Sounds delicious!!!

River Country is quite a mystery! I too have fun childhood memories from there and hate seeing it so dilapidated. In addition to being an eyesore, I would think it is a potential safety issue. No idea why they've just left it. :confused3

Love your tour of the MK resorts! The pics in the Mickey head were worth the headaches...adorable!!!

I would hate to be staying at the Poly during all this construction. I thought I had heard there were no discounts offered. :scared1:

Looking forward to more!

Howdy!

Just trying to see if you might have a photo of the inside of that there vacuum cleaner in the closet? I always like to bring my own vacuum cleaner bags when I travel and I was wondering what size to bring. I can't seem to find a picture...:scratchin

:duck:

Can I join, umm, fashionably and inexcusably late? Well, I have a minor excuse as I returned recently from 11 nights at YC and WL. It looks like I am just in time for the WL chapter to start so my rocker is pulled-up from the porch of TE and I'm ready to sit a spell and enjoy your TR:hyper:

As is always the case with our dearest Heather, your TR is as wonderful and beautiful as your family and only the kids age and get bigger.

I was laughing at your seat placement at TE as EVERY SINGLE TIME we eat there, which is usually at least twice each visit, we are inevitably seated at the furthest table in the back, right corner underneath this guy:

We laugh every time we go up the steps to the dining room and Josephine, one of our favorite hostesses, heads to the right toward "our" spot:confused:. We must have that look of mischief and mayhem, too;). Speaking of looks - love all the "looks" you've captured on the faces of your kin - it tells a story - one I can't wait to see more of:hug:

:wave2: We're back from the lake....rested and ready to get back to real life :thumbsup2 Hope everyone had an awesome 4th!!! Sorry for the long delay in the TR, but there was barely any internet service at the lake house...or cell phone service for that matter.

Where have I been? I just found this TR. Loving it so far and subbing :)

Where have you been??!! ;) :teeth: Glad you found us!!!! ::yes::

You have been an updating machine!! I love it!!!!

Well...so much for the updating madness! It came to an abrupt halt, didn't it?! I'm back at it today!!

I tell ya.... the Poly, WL, MK, DTD :upsidedow It became comical after a while. But you're totally right. It will be fabulous when all is said and done.

It's like a breeding ground for swamp creatures  I can only imagine what lies beneath!

If no discounts, then shame on Disney.

You made it!!!!!

One would think! With 3000+ pictures, I should have captured that image just for you....completely slipped my mind :confused3

You are late ::yes:: However, you're excuse is certainly viable. I'll let it slide.

Thanks, KOOK :goodvibes

:rotfl: :confused3 Guess y'all have that similar look of being mischief-makers!

Speaking of looks - love all the "looks" you've captured on the faces of your kin - it tells a story - one I can't wait to see more of:hug:

With 3000 pictures, we definitely captured some interesting pics ::yes:: 3 children with 3 VERY different personalities.

Catching up after a wifi free week at the beach. Agree, your photos of river country are just sad. I too enjoyed some great childhood memories there and it's depressing to see it in such a delapatated state. I had no idea it was still there and visible to guests. Totally agree they should have taken it down a long time ago.

Welcome back home! I love kook's pic from TE!! So WL CL check in is next...popcorn::

I've only stayed at Fort Wilderness once and that was over 25 years ago. What I remember most is that you could spend a couple of days just enjoying the resort without ever having to go to a park. I'm sure it's grown and improved so much since then but it does seem like your family is enjoying just being there. I'd love to go back and stay there again one day.

Wifi free weeks can be really nice ::yes:: and restful! Hope y'all had a nice time and enjoyed the ocean.

And yep...RC is such an eyesore. Wish it would come down!

Thanks! Nice to be home :goodvibes Trying to get the house clean and wash clothes. I haven't had any Dis time :upsidedow

Almost time for the WL check-in ;)

Go back for a visit! :thumbsup2 Bet you'll be surprised...especially when you see first hand the old remains of RC ;) Even with that mess, it's still a fabulous place for a little R' and R'!
