Hi All...It's 38 degrees (balmy for us for those in the south)in northwest Indiana, but soon to change to sleet and freezing rain. From spring to winter in 6 hours! We are booking Bucaneer for snorkeling in GC, we motor out to the reefs and sailboat back in....sort of cool!
What are people doing in Cozumel? My girlfriend just got back from Cozumel in December and said the beaches are still somewhat beat up from Wilma. Very narrow, seaweedy, and the water was not clear when snorkeling from shore. She said their wasn't much to do at this port except shop for touristy stuff. She ended up at a private beach club, at $40 a pop. It included food, drinks, and a really great pool area (swim-up bar, games, etc.) But, my DS (10) isn't going to be drinking and eating $40 worth of stuff. And for what I am paying on the Magic, we can spend time on the near empty ship and eat the food we already paid for.
We don't want to snorkel since we will be in GC snorkeling the whole day. She recommended Paradise beach for a short while if we wanted to do something, maybe a bit of shopping, and then back to the ship. We have 8 shipsin port that day, so Paradise beach and the shops will be crowded. What do you all think?
Hi -- we are going to Xcaret on the mainland on our Cozumel day . . . but I have heard that you can easily take a taxi to Paradise beach, and if you go first thing in the morning I'll bet you can enjoy a few hours before it gets too crowded.
Good luck to your husband on getting someone to share the fishing excursion!
