2nd job?

I have heard that some people got another job on the side to help save money for times they were not working at Disney but then some people are saying that Disney will fire you for it. Being a lifeguard I will be getting out at decent times and I work at Cracker Barrel right now and can transfer and even just work one day a week like after classes to keep my status at Cracker Barrel. Cause if you have ever been there you get stars based on how long you have been there and I have been at my CB for over 2 years and have 3 stars and don't want to start all over again.

So how does that work? I have heard both ends of this and I wanna know which one is true, can you have a 2nd job as long as it doesn't hurt Disney or will you get into trouble?

I don't see how you could have a second job unless they'd just let you pick up shifts but not actually be on the schedule. And lifeguard can go late. Some resorts as late as 10 or 11 have a lifeguard and in the Spring/summer there are extra magic hours at Typhoon Lagoon where it can stay open until midnight.

Are you going to be a CP? Because if you are, no, you are not allowed a second job under any circumstances. One of my friends picked up a single shift last minute as a bartender at sister-club to where she worked at home. Someone saw her, and she was terminated.

As a lifeguard, you may not be getting the hours you think you will be. I had a friend who was a lifeguard, and he wasn't off til 8 sometimes, even when he started at 9 am. His days off would also rotate, almost never the same as the week before. Disney also has every right to extend you how they see fit. You be about to clock out and they can tell you that you have to stay an extra two hours, or you'll be fired.

If that happens find a PT/FT CM that is looking to extend and by contract the company must allow them to fill the need first.

In my experience, my managers went that route first. If they're at the point of force extending CPs it normally meant that they didn't have any other option, and what I said before stands.
