The popper doesn't necessarily mean that it's done. It just means that the popper has reached a certain temperature. Chances are it wouldn't hurt the bird to cook some more, especially the thighs and legs. If in doubt, just cut into the bird and take a look. :) Good luck. :)

I had to pick up my still hot smoked turkey this morning and my crew aren't suppose to eat until 5 either. I have mine in the oven on 200 degrees just to keep it warm. When I put my other things to cook we are going to carve it and then sit the bowl on the eye that the oven heat comes up through. I guess though it will be on the dry side!!!! Oh well that is the way things go around here!!!

are the turkey juices running clear? if yes the turkey is done. If there not clear (still pinkish colored) its NOT done.

I had a 9 pound hotel turkey breast, cooked it for 4 hrs and I was the only one that didn't think it was cooked enough. I was gagging getting the few pieces down I had. the pop up times poped up, the wings were breaking from the breast and it was brown sos it must of been cooked maybe I just didn't feel like turkey. :D

The pop-up things are very unreliable.
If you have one, use a meat thermometer placed in the thickest part.

And if it is done....just let it sit for awhile. They really should sit out awhile before cutting anyway.

Mine was ready about 2 hours before everyone got here. I cook mine in a roaster and read that I could hold it at 200 degrees so that's what I did. About 15 minutes beore they got here I cranked it back up to 350 let it get hotter, double checked the internal temperature and everything was good.

I don't think I could ever go back to cooking a turkey in an over. I love my roaster!
