She was pretty pissy during this & where they didn't really get to do much more than decorate the cake, they were bored & ready to go.

I don't blame her I probably would have been the same way and I am a lot older than she is. You know I have never gone in Tarzan's Treehouse, I went when it was the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. I think when we go on this next trip I need to check it out.:hippie:

Last posting of pics!!!! Can you believe it....I finally got it done!!!!!

Probably a good thing...since I'll be back in 6 days & will most likely come home with a ton of new pics......lol :rotfl:

Recap Friday, March 13:

Enjoyed 3 meals: 1 at DL Hotel, 1 at Disneyland & 1 in DTD

Rides: Toy Story Midway Mania, Ca Screamin', GRR, Splash Mtn, BTMRR, Tarzan Treehouse, the Train & Space Mtn.

Extras: Celebrated Anthony's 8th Bday & Addy's Adoption, checked out the DCA renovation plans, the Pat E. Cake Party, saw the end of Fantasmic, & Fireworks.

PAT E. CAKE BIRTHDAY PARTY REViEW:

This party is held at the Plaza Inn on Main Street. They hold it at 2pm & on weekends also a 2nd party at 4 or 4:30. PS Recommended. You check in at the podium just outside the Plaza Inn & pay for the party. $15.99 per person. You are asked to line up along the fencing outside the Plaza Inn. A hostess will come out & stamp your hands & give you a party hat with Mickey ears on it. About 5 mins prior to party time, you are lead to the outdoor seating. The host/hostesses will seat you at a table that has a plastic tumbler filled with lemonade for each person. You may keep this. Once everyone is seated, the host Pat E. Cake appears & sings to the crowd. He then explains we're having a cake decorating contest, as the waitstaff pass out a Mickey shaped plate with yellow cake, frosting & sprinkles in it. You decorate your cake as the host cruises thru the tables & comments on the cakes being done. At the end of a set-time, he announces that everyone is the winner. He gathers all the birthday people to the center to sing them a birthday song. Out comes Mickey & Minnie to help them sing Happy Birthday. They do a short congo line & then tell the guests they can line up to see Mickey & Minnie. They have a PhotoPass Photographer there for the photo op. You return to your seat to eat your cake. The party is over. It runs about 40mins.

We were very excited to add this party to our plans. When Pat E. Cake comes out, he does not get to every table. So depending on where you are sitting, you might not get him coming by at all......we did not. The individual cakes are the size of a jumbo muffin. We found it to be very dry. You are given 3 cups of frosting: red, blue & yellow......BEWARE!!!! The food coloring used to make these very vibrant stain like crazy!!!! Addy had red eyebrows before we were done. When Mickey & Minnie come out & they line up to see them...make sure you get in line immediately....they only keep the line open for a short time & you had to run the kid to the restroom....you won't be allowed to get in line after it closes. As for character time....you really don't get any. They rush each grouping thru which becomes evident in the pictures done with the photographer. The kids had about 1 minute with Mickey & Minnie. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT PULLING OUT THE AUTOGRAPH BOOKS!!!!! They do not sign autographs during this party!!! I think this was the point I got very frustrated with the entire experience. You just spent almost the price for a kids character meal & you don't get any character time. This is a semi-private party (that wasn't cheap) & you can't get an autograph??? We left very disappointed & the pics of the kids also showed this. I would highly recommend skipping this....you can get a much birthday celebration at any of the character meals & get lots of character time for almost the same price.

GOOFY'S KITCHEN REVIEW WAS DONE ON DAY 2's RECAP

COKE CORNER'S REVIEW WAS DONE ON DAY 1's RECAP

RAINFOREST CAFE DINING REVIEW:

This is a sit-down restaurant in DTD. PS highly recommended, but you will need to call them direct for these. 714-772-0413 This is a fully-themed rainforest with multiple aquariums, animatronic gorillas, elephants, butterflies, etc. They have a thunderstorm every 20 mins.
They have a large menu & kids menu:
Appetizers include: Chimi Cha-Cha, quesadillas, calamari, cheese sticks, brushcetta, nachos, shrimp skewers, crab delight, chicken tenders, lettuce wraps, buffalo wings & shrimp cocktail.
For entrees: pasta, crab cakes, shrimp, king crab legs, snapper, shrimp platter, salmon, fish-n-chips, lobster, chicken fried steak, chicken, fajitas, bbq ribs, steak, pizza, salads, soups, turkey wrap, chicken sandwich, bbq wrap, & burgers
They also have choices of desserts including their famous "Volcano" which is huge & would feed a large party.
They also do breakfast & lunch here.

Clam Chowder $4.99
BBQ Chicken Wrap $12.99
Planet Earth Pasta $15.99
Tribal Salmon $19.99
Awesome Appetizer $16.99
Kid meals $6.99
Smoothies (ordered in take home light up glass) $9.99

We found the food to be very good & the service excellent. We love looking around at the decor & especially being seated near one of their many aquariums. We did have a problem with our PS, but they more than made up for it with service & special attn from mgmt. We also got a free appetizer. We make this restaurant a must do every trip.
We also enjoy their very large gift shop. You can get some great buys on quality t-shirts!!
We ended up grabbing breakfast here the next morning before leaving town & if you're looking for a good food & large portions for a decent price....I'd suggest checking them out. We were seated immediately & didn't have a PS for breakfast.

Kid Meal $6.99
Cha Cha Wild Waffle $8.99
Pie of the Viper $11.99
Breakfast of Bandits $8.99
Ozzie's Omelet $9.99
Coffee/Cokes $2.89

Awsome trip report! I just sat and read the whole thing and haven't doen anything else yet today! :scared: It was sure enjoyable though. I was wondering where you would suggest going for a meal to celebrate birthdays? I have two kids with birthdays a day apart on our next trip. They'll be 14 and 5 respectively. I am really wondering about doing PCH Grill with the make your own pizza for my soon to be 5 year old because he loves pizza. Do they do pepperoni there?

We really loved the PCH Grill....and my son had a blast making his own pizza!!! Yes they get to chose the kind they want to make....so pepperoni would be fine. When you check in for your PS at the PCH Grill...let them know you're celebrating 2 birthdays. They gave us a card, dessert & balloons..... maybe you'd get the same!!!!

As for character meals.....Goofy's is always fun & so is the Lilo-n-Stitch breakfast. Our 19 & 22yr old had fun at both these meals....maybe moreso at the Lilo-n-Stitch....but they just love the food at Goofy's though.

Just make sure where ever you chose to celebrate, that you tell them at check-in....that way the word gets passed on to your server!!

Thank you for spending a good part of your day looking over my TR...... it's great getting new readers!!!

After a couple weeks of uploading pictures, writing the trip report, adding more & more & more pictures, recaping our days & adding dining reviews with some prices & reviews of the Fantasmic Dessert Seating, Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour & the Pat E. Cake Birthday Party.....I think I'm done!!!

Glad you made it!!!! Thank you....I enjoyed doing it. Finger's crossed all over the DIS boards for the interview!!!!!!

Your TR was amazing and so incredible thorough!!!! The pictures were great and it was a journey that I'll take with me on my own trip.

Omg, 5 days until you go back! You lucky lady!!!

Thanks...... I'm excited to be going again so quickly, but really not looking forward to the 14 hr drive again or the HUGE crowds that are going to be there. I have no idea how the twins will react to the road trip, sleeping at the motel, or the parks. They could do fine & I'd worried for nothing....but I don't think that will be the case. The crowds are actually the thing that worries me the most. The girls get very stressed out by too much noise & activity & we will definately have both. I'm hoping people are a little better behaved then when we were there last year at the same time......we actually had people jumping over our daughter while she was in the stroller. Talk about pissing mommy off!!!! Anyway....excited yes, nervous for hubby's intereview & concerned about the twins.....but hey, its Disneyland & I always find something magical while there!!! We'll just have to find that "haven" for my little ones. Just being there will be enough for us since we just were there. If we get on a ride or two....bonus.....if not...that's okay too!!!

I think that because you are aware of the situation that everything will be okay. And as far as the jerks and the jumping over the stroller and you didn't hurt them? You are a better woman than I am.:worship:

I was somewhat behaved...... but some non-Disneyesque words did come out towards them!! :rotfl2: my bad.....

No it was their bad. There is nothing more ridiculus as a person who messes with a Mama's little ones.
