Enjoyed 3 Meals - 2 at Disneyland & 1 at Paradise Pier Hotel

Extras: Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour, Tiki Room, Main St. Cinema, 50th Display in the Opera House, Billy Hill & the Hillbillies & Fireworks

WALK IN WALT'S FOOTSTEPS TOUR REVIEW:

We absolutely loved this tour for all the history & trivia we heard & saw. We covered a lot of ground during this tour but never felt we were running or rushing thru. We learned a lot of new things & we're Disney buffs. The lunch was very good (we chose the turkey sandwich on wheat....loved the bread, it came with fruit & cookies). This tour ran us $59 each & was well worth every dime.

BLUE RIBBON BAKERY DINING REVIEW:

This is a walk-up counter where you'll wait for them to fill your order. They don't have any seating, but you may find a table next door at the ice cream parlor (especially early in the day).
They have choices of muffins, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon twists, croissants, cookies, rice krispy treats, fresh fruit, milk, chocolate milk, standard drink selections & specialty coffees.
Muffins $2.59
Cinnamon Twist $2.99
Mickey Krispy Treat $2.99
Chocolate Milk $2.69
House Coffee $2.69
Small Milk $1.59

This is a great place to pick up a quick breakfast or a quick snack thru-out the day. The muffins are good sized & are fresh & moist. The cinnamon twist was not like the deep fried doughnut style, but flaky & light & very good. The Mickey Krispy Treat....what can I say.....it's always a hit!! (and rice krispies are a breakfast cereal....lol) :rotfl:

PCH GRILL DINING REVIEW:

This is a sit-down restaurant at the Paradise Pier Hotel. PS are recommended. You check-in & are seated, your waiter/waitress will take your drink orders as you look over the menu. You will order off menu which includes choices of:
Appetizers: Soup, Salad, Quesadillas & Cheddar Fries
Entrees: Burgers (including turkey), chicken, steak, fish-n-chips, pork bbq ribs, pasta, sandwiches, pizza & salads
Desserts: Ice cream, apple pie, cheesecake & brownies

Chicken Quesadilla Appetizer $5.99
BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger $7.99
BBQ Pork Ribs $20.99
Fish-n-Chips $12.99
Hawaiian Pizza $9.99
Kids Mac-n-Cheese $7.99
Kids Pizza $7.99

This was a very good meal at a place we may have never tried if we didn't try the character meal earlier in the week. The restaurant has a California/Hawaiian flare to it. The food was very good...no complaints on any of the things our family tried. My son got to do the kids Make Your Own Pizza!! He had a blast being able to assemble his own pizza. They brought out a board with the crust on it & then small cups with sauce, cheese & meat on it. After he puts it together, he gets to deliver it to the chef who will then put it in the wood fire to cook. The service was excellent. They brought us a large bouquet of balloons & a special dessert for our anniversary. It has a fun atmosphere that we will definately return to.

Thanks so much for taking and posting pictures of all the spring flowers. Being in (very brown) Wyoming, it's nice to see color again. Can't wait to see it for myself!!!!

Where in Wyoming are you? Right after Mike & I were married we worked the summer for the forest service in Laramie..... We loved driving down to Estes Park in Colorado & doing weekends in Fort Collins!! Of course, that could have been because Laramie had nothing to do....so anywhere else was fabulous!! :rotfl2:

Well, I finally made it back! I did a lot of backtracking to find where I left off. I'm all caught up now....read the whole report. You did a fantastic job and it looks like the trip was a huge success! The kids looked like they had such a blast. I bet you are really glad now that they ended up getting to go too. Thanks for sharing your story and all the wonderful pictures. You have a beautiful family. Congratulations on the 2 new official members of the family!

My DD is 8 and still does not like any of the "bigger" rides. It looks like your 2 younger ones were just about willing to do anything!
Your pictures in some of the dark rides are so clear. Are you one of those naughty people who forgets to turn off the flash? ;) The flowers and trees all look so pretty in your pictures. We have never been to the park at this time of year... may have to try it sometime!
Thanks for pointing out the diorama's in the Emporium. I've never noticed them before, probably because I despise wasting my time shopping. I will have to make sure to look for them.
Glad to see that I am not the only one who sat taking pictures of light fixtures while sitting in Ariels! :lmao:

We also did the Fantasmic PS last year. The majority of our dessert box ended up wasted too. I put ours in the fridge thinking we would eat them later but there never was a time that I wasn't too full. Still, even without indulging on all the goodies we were completely happy to just have a place to sit to watch the show and the fireworks after wards.

I am so glad you got the chance to splurge at Blue Bayou. It is without a doubt our favorite place to eat in the park. It's not particularly the food, even though we have always been pleased, but more the overall total experience. Atmosphere, mood, food and DESSERT! You made me want to go again just looking at your pictures!

We did the Walk in Walt's Footstep Tour last year and loved it too. I am not sure why but they did not give us the headsets even though I know they had been using them at the time. Did I miss much? I also wanted to say that we did the Discover the Magic tour the year before that. Guess who one of our tour guides was...???? ALBERT! He did a great job then so I bet with another year of experience he was even more excellent on your tour.

I hope your DH has good luck with his job interview. Now IMHO that would be a great job!

Thanks for coming back & reading a very long, drawn out TR. I just keep adding after the fact!! I still have one more day of pics to put up & my recap of that day.

Now on the flash pics.....we only did them on the rides we asked if we could use the flash. Didn't use a flash when we weren't supposed to. I hate when people do that, especially on POTC!

We really did enjoy the Blue Bayou.....but I enjoyed Cafe Orleans just as well. I'd like my kids to experience it....but definately would have to save up to do that!

Albert was great & in fact he was the last CM we had talked to about moving down & going to work there......he really encouraged Mike to apply. Now look what we're doing.....going back in a week to interview!!!!! I'll have to look for him when we're in the park!

I came up with the "Golden" line for him to use at the interview: If they ask him why he wants to work for Disneyland.....his answer will be --- I feel that Disneyland is an extension of who I am & my strong family beliefs....not just a job! What do you think??

Will keep everyone updated on what happens.....finger's crossed!!!

I think that your golden statement is good. I think that mentioning the family is a good idea.

Love the pictures as always. I love the Disneyland Hotel and the grounds.:goodvibes

More Day 7 to come!

I love Alice. She seemed to be so interested in whatever Adaleah was saying to her. That is a good thing for a face character. One of the best character interactions we ever had was at Goofy's Kitchen with the Mad Hatter. We were celebrating Kody's birthday and I had ordered a cake and I made a point of calling a few days before to check on it with the spelling and everything and I was assured that all was well, not quite. It comes time for the cake to come out and it was spelled Cody, the Mad Hatter noticed that it had been spelled wrong and he made a big deal out of correcting it. He ran to the kitchen and got the icing and came out and changed the C into a K, making it seem like it was all planned out. :goodvibes

That's awesome!! We loved our interaction with the Mad Hatter in 2005....I'm not sure I had ever seen Anthony laugh as hard as he did while playing with him. We haven't seen him since that 2005 trip.....bummer!

Let's do some Toy Story Midway Mania!!

Next post: More from the DCA renovation plans!!

Our trip was about 2003 and we have had interactions with the Mad Hatter since then but they have never been as good. He was a special CM. He took what had all of the makings of being horrible and making it into a really fun experience for her.
