I was wondering, if I am flyng home on Southwest, and will not be able to check in myself at the 24 hour mark, can someone else do it for me. For example, could a relative do it for me from home or do I have to do it myself in order to print something out. In the past I have used guest relations, but it will be July 4th at night when it is my 24 hour mark and that won't be very convenient.

And also, if I am traveling with a conecting flight with Airtran being 1st and connecting with a Southwest flight, do I check in at the connecting time, or with the 1st flight time. I had assumed the connecting time, but wondering if any of you have had to do this yet with a connecting flight.

thanks!

Friends and relatives do it all the time. Other option is to use a smartphone. You just need to "reprint" your BP at the airport.

I check my parents in when they are traveling all the time. Just reprint your passes at the airport. Or just do it through the SW app on your smartphone, super easy!

PPs are absolutely correct. It's the checking-in part--not the printing-out part--that's important to do at the 24-hour mark. You will keep the boarding numbers you are assigned no matter when you print out your BPs; even if you wait until you get to the airport to do it.

Your relatives will need to have your confirmation number(s) and one name associated with each number to do it.

thanks to you all! I know this may seem like something out of the middle ages, but I do not have a smartphone. I know, it's sad. :sad1:
I do have a cell phone, but it's just that I don't want to pay data plan fees. It is really much to my 14 year old daughter's dismay, but oh well.
We do have an ipad and that would be an option, I never thought of that.

this is great to know, thanks! I may change my flight to a nonstop for our return flight and if I am going to pay a bit more for that flight, then I didn't want to have to pay for priority check in as well.
