23 days, yeah! No Magic Bands...boo!

We also arrive December 1st. Ours are still showing the being customized, check back for shipping message.

I wonder if there are different personalization warehouses, each on it's own schedule. Our second set shipped, but not the first (second starts on the 8th).
 
Ours are scheduled for Delivery on Wednesday. We leave on Thursday Morning for our first part of our stay! I hope they make it!!!!
 
We arrive on 12/3, so I just now called and the CM, who was extremely nice, checked and made sure that there wasn't a hold on them. She said everything looked good and that the bands should ship within the next two days. Keeping my mickey fingers crossed.
 

We arrive on 11/30 and I just got the email yesterday that says they were shipped. I'd definitely recommend that if anybody arriving around the beginning of December to call because they were shipped USPS Parcel Post. That's the slowest shipping method for USPS, or one of the slowest.
 
If it's any consolation, we arrive 11/28 and we received an email on 11/8 that stated our "magic bands are on their way!" So for us, it was 20 days out.
 
We are set to arrive on 11/16/2014 and I personalized our bands when I made the reservations back in September. I would check the website periodically and it would state that they were shipping soon and that I should hurry to customize them. I spoke to a Disney CM on 11/8 and they said the bands would be shipping that day but after looking in my mailbox yesterday I found that wasn't the case. After 2 phone calls to the CS people at Disney it was found that my bands had not been created, they were not able to give me an answer as to why. :confused3 I was then told that my bands would be waiting for me at the resort, which to me is unacceptable. The reason I chose to stay at a Disney resort in the first place was for the bands, I have been reading articles about them since their inception and thought they were so cool and could not wait. Now I find out that my bands will be waiting for me at the resort. This has really upset me a lot, I had plans for decorating the bands and making them glow in the dark and now this is gone. I am sure for some that the bands are not a big deal but this truly was a big deal to me. In the end I was told that they were going to expedite them to me before we leave on Sunday, but it isn't a for sure thing. >

Why don't you take some supplies with you and decorate them while you are in Disney. I imagine that paint or nail Polish should dry overnight.

I spoke to a Kenneth on the phone and explained that it's been that way for about a week and a half, and that I wasn't necessarily worried, but I would just rather receive them at home than at the resort. I also wanted to make sure there wasn't a hold on the account or anything. He said that there was no hold on my account, but that the personalization shouldn't have taken that long. He said he would go ahead and start the expediting process for me, even though we are 23 days out. I guess I got lucky with a super helpful cast member, so I just wanted to share my story and send some hopeful magic your way!

Just wanted to share too... My experience today was pretty much identical to yours. We arrive 12/1 and have been "personalizing" since 11/1. I've read about nicknames holding up the process so I figured it wouldn't hurt to check and I'm very glad I did. Here's to hoping I get the shipping notification tomorrow!

I've just read various posts discussing how nicknames and/or spelling inconsistencies can sometimes cause a hold on the magic bands. The CM I spoke to today said that this does happen sometimes, but this wasn't the case for us. Unfortunately, she couldn't explain why ours were just sitting there and not being moved into the next step of the process. She went ahead and confirmed our personalizations (which were just typical short versions of very common names - nothing crazy) and then pushed them through as an expedited order.

On that note, it seems rather curious to me that something such as a nickname on the inside of a band could hold up the show... Aren't we able to put whatever we want on them?

Exactly. That's what I got out of personalizing. It is odd the five sets we got on the 30 day mark were our names. This one I decide to customize with different words and they are delayed. I guess I need to call. 22 days out now
 
The USPS must be walking our bands to us. ;) Our tracking says they were picked up today in Tennessee but won't make it here to North Carolina until NEXT Tuesday! Oh well, I'm just glad they are on the way!

I don't know if either of you have done this, but do check the actual tracking link. Our email said they were shipped parcel post, and MDE says the 15-17. However, the USPS site says they were shipped 2 day, and will arrive tomorrow.

Had an email this morning that they have shipped, and I'll probably get them by November 18th.

Yes- actually MDE says we should have them between the 14th - 16th. The USPS site says the 18th. I'm hoping it's wrong but as of this morning it still just says the package has been picked up.
 
They shipped!! Oh thank goodness!

I feel like it's Christmas AND my birthday.



I will look back at this post and my angst leading up to it and I will laugh at myself....
 
Just got my shipping notification, so they should be here next week! What a relief. But you're right... All this agonizing over some plastic bracelets! Chalk it up to the "insanity" that is planning a Disney vacation. :)
 
I received an email today too, notifying our Magic Bands were shipped. Our check in day is 12/2.

I hope everyone get's their email soon. I was checking MDE every day. One less thing to check!
 
I got my notice too! It's as if floor supervisor Goofy finally realized the Magic Band machine was unplugged. :)
