2026 Alaska sailing during the World Cup

Not how the World Cup works. If you are a support of team H1 you will be in Miami for a few days, go to Atlanta for a few days and finish in Houston before potentially round of 32 match in LA, 16 in Dallas, quarter LA, semi back in Dallas and finally finish your tour of American in the very best state. New Jersey.

I did check around the various hosts for the same dates and Vancouver is amongst the most ridiculous. Toronto seems fairly summer normal.
......but if you only have time to take one trip to the WC and you happen to get Vancouver tickets, you will want to make the trip worthwhile and stay a few days.....(though the cost conscious might hightail it out haha)

That is just not how the World Cup works. There are 3 groups of tickets. Block A is for supporters of Team A, Block B is for supporters of Team B, Block C is for everyone else. For United, the everyone else is going to overwhelmingly be made up of locals - why Kansas City with far fewer hotel rooms and a less connected airport got picked over Denver. Supporters that will make up the vast majority of the traveling fans at any given match buy packages of tickets for their team.

I work blocks away from BC Place and I dreading it. I was also here for the 2010 Olympics but I think this will be worse mostly because in 2010 there was a lot of planning put into how the city would manage things like hotels, transportation etc and those conversations went on for years. No one is talking about it here right now.

This is one time when it may be better to book a hotel through Disney. I would hope that they have a block of rooms.

If all you are looking for is a room the night before the cruise and you don’t want to do tourist things in Vancouver there are some options. The skytrain goes out to Coquitlam.

oh well, I guess I am gonna be out of luck and will be paying for packs of tickets that I won't be using (or reselling a lot!)when I try for tickets on the Oct release (scheduled from the new registration period from Sept 10-19) because I'm only looking to buy tickets for my town.....I heard there was talk about handling the resales like Paris 2024? That was AMAZING

Super fans, sure. Maybe they are indeed the vast majority, following their team to various cities? That sounds complicated and extremely expensive... I assume the majority would be folk wanting to see A match, not every match. A lot of us at work want to see a game, but its just to have a good time. When we went to the Olympics it was by lottery; I put in things I'd be willing to buy a ticket for, including hockey matches specifically, and they came back with what I lucked into having the option to buy. That was fine with me - it only gave one option for a match which I took, as well as bobsledding and a biathlon.

oooo bobsledding and biathlon sounds fun! (except for half of the action will be on a screen from where you are sitting haha) Is that for 2026? I got my ticket time and all that was left of interest in Milano (not even trying for Cortina, sounds complicated even though I was in Torino) were 650 euro skating tickets.....I know its a complex thing (like how Paris had like a ton more releases) but it didn't entice me as I am trying to save for 2028 (which is gonna be so complicated in comparison to Paris haha)

Nah this was way back in 2010 when it was in Vancouver. Hope to see some summer games in LA next!
