2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Information & Planning Thread

Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit prizes are mini corn hole games with characters in Halloween costumes. By mini, I mean fit in the palm of your hand mini. Believe these were also the prizes for a recent F&G festival scavenger hunt but obviously themed differently. Photo from WDWNT.

Watching a livestream tonight and the first booth they went to (France) was having technical issues and only accepting cash. These tech issues are fairly rare but do happen (especially when lightning is in the area), so if you have your heart set on getting a certain dish, it's smart to make sure you have some cash on hand, so technology doesn't foil your plans.

So they sell those plastic trays to carry food around. We aren't arriving until late October. Do you think they will be sold out and not restocked by then?

Day 1 experience mostly not great - but let me know if I should have anticipated potential issues like this.

Staying at BWV and working remotely for two days until the rest of the gang starts arriving tomorrow. Started out ok. Arrived via international gateway entrance and grabbed the beer-braised beef from Belgium (delicious) on the way to catch the 5:30 show at the Gardens Theater. Decided to head back to room as the sky had turned dark and a thunderstorm was forecasted. Road the storm out and headed back into Epcot via the international gateway entrance. Top of my list was the Adobo Yuca Fries at the Fry Basket. A little ambitious to go that far just for fries but decided to make the trek. Got to the marketplace at around 8:22 or so. Was in line for a few minutes when the person three ahead of me said "well, someone needs to be last" which was followed by the announcement that they were then only serving drinks. She either said they were out of fries or the fryer was broken. Was only half listening since I knew what was coming and couldn't hide my disappointment after the effort to get there. That was 8:26pm.

So, as you must do in Disney - you get over it quickly (like when Frozen broke 40 mins into a 45 min que on Tuesday, and, when Tiana's broke 40 mins into a 45 min que yesterday. New plan - hoof it to the Italy marketplace for the Bacetti Pizza and a red sangria. After a brisk walk I arrived at Italy to be told at 8:46 that the line was closed (only about 10 people in the que - even if these close ques when they think it will take until 9 to serve everyone that didn't make sense. Having no other plan I headed back to the gateway exit. It looked like all of the other marketplaces were still allowing people in the ques but I didn't have a plan for any of them and was probably sulking a bit from receiving no reward for the initial two efforts.

So, I wound up with Chili from Beach Club marketplace and a red Sangria from Bel Vue lounge. Not what I planned. This is the second time this week that I got a bag of chips instead of fresh baked chips (Boardwalk Deli was the other place). I'm going to look for a thread already started to see if all of the marketplaces have gone to bag chips. We typically stay at Saratoga SR and one of my favorite things has been the fresh chips that come with the sandwiches.

Sorry you had a bad day!

Not sure about the chips, does everywhere advertise house made chips?

Hopefully you can get to Epcot earlier in the day next time. It was the first day, maybe give grace and try again. Although I would be miffed too.

I hit it early today and dipped around 2 because I was exhausted from Early Entry and nearly went Bjork-on-paparazzi on the fifteenth jagoff with a camera I saw filming (I’m never doing day 1 of this ever again). Definitely agree on the skewer beef but don’t sleep on the short rib and lemon poppyseed cake from Earth Eats. Both were my faves today.
