2017 NHL Playoffs Thread

Just ugh. Rangers started so well but now we are starting to blow it. I hope they at least score tomorrow. Nothing is worse then disappointing fans at MSG during the playoffs. I'll be at tomorrows game so I will hold out hope for a win to tie the series back up.

The first 2 the Rangers played well so the first loss wa seasy to swallow. Last night was harder as a Ranger fan. They still were good games to to leave home ice almost scoreless was rough. All hope isn't loss just yet. Just preparing to be put out now as it is easier on the heart to be surprised

It was first used durning the '96 all star game and was used, by Fox, until the end of the 97-98 season. It was ugly as hell and more distracting than anything else.

So Preds get 1 goal from a puck bouncing off the glass straight onto the stick of a Pred shooter and another goal from goalie interference. Just not the Hawks year.

Wow. That game should have never gone to overtime. Th NHL really screwed over the Hawks with that non-call of goalie interference. This game should have an asterisk by it.

Preds fan and I agree. I think they are called ice girls. Our arena is so loud and the fans so into the game that cheerleaders are not needed anyway. They don't really cheer, they just dance. One was dancing in the aisle in front of us and the poor guy in front of me almost fell out of his seat watching her hips.

I hate this kind of "marketing" of the game I love. I don't need tits and *** in my hockey, thankyouverymuch. The Blackhawks (and other teams) have ice girls that clean the ice in skimpy outfits and I hate it, but I don't think they are in the stands with actual pompoms. This is NOT the direction I want to see in the NHL.

I heard some guy say the Islanders have them as their ice crew and just shook my head. Was the least offensive thing the guy said all night. He was disappointed that the Rangers have guys in jumpsuits as their ice crew (I mean keeping the ice in playable condition is more important then arousing the male viewers) and that the blue crew often is a mix of guys and gals in the jumpsuits or blue crew t-shirts. They weren't scantily clad enough for the guy. Of course I'm team keep cheerleaders to football so I roll my eyes when ever I see the baseball teams with dancers/cheerleaders too.

That has all sorts of ways to go bad. If you could have seen the young guy in front of me ogling the gyrating rear of the ice dancer you would know why they are there. I think these girls are similar to what NBA teams have. Baseball and hockey don't need this.

Ice girls are actually very skilled skaters; (at least on* the teams that I've read about) extremely good skaters who are proud to represent their team.

Haven't seen the cheerleaders but each market is unique. I get the marketing aspect of it, it's a different demographic- you're talking about places where hockey isn't the first sport played. Going beyond the original teams, times change.

OT: I can't stand the show, Hockey Wives. About half of the women seem real and like they care about others, the other half are self obbssessed nightmares. But I'm sure that's the same with all of the housewives shows. I will take Survivor or Amazing Race, you couldn't pay me to watch rich people being rich.
