2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

Been to Disney a number of times but never during food and wine. We are planning a trip the end of October and excited to know it is going on then.

Is there anything need to prepare for? Purchase in advance? How does the tasting go, do you pay up front or as you go?

Thanks

We've never purchased anything in advance. Each booth offers food and drinks that you pay for as you go. Prices range from around $4-7 for the food. Here's last year's offerings/prices - http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2016-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-booths-menus-and-food-photos/. In past years all of the food items cost a snack credit on the dining plan.

If you're interested in any of beverage seminars, culinary demonstrations, or special events, advanced reservations are available for these events. Many of the special events sell out within several hours after reservations become available.

If you're only interested in the sampling items from the global marketplace kiosks, you just pay as you go. There is usually a mini Disney gift card that's available during the festival which makes it easier to pay for kiosks items.

News:

According to the Orlando Business Journal, Disney has already filed permits with Orange County for construction of the global marketplace kiosks.

The permits are for providing labor, materials and electrical supplies for the construction of the Global Marketplace kiosks. This year there will be 30 kiosks including “Scotland, New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, the Caribbean, Patagonia, Brazil ‘Chocolate’ and ‘Sustainable Chew.’”

Thanks that's great info.

How far in advance do they announce the seminars and instructions and where are they announced?

The information on the special events and seminars was released last year on June 27, 2016. Reservations started on July 19, 2016 for Disney Visa cardholders, DVC members, and annual passholders, July 21 for everyone else.

The question this year is will information be released earlier and reservations start earlier as the festival has been moved up two weeks?

We'll have all of the information and details on this thread as soon as its announced.

Think they'll do those nifty gift cards with the keychain on them? I'm hoping to get one for a day full of Food & Wine fun!

Are those F&W gift cards good for more than one day. I'm definitely interested in sampling some food for a couple of lunches during the week. Not really interested on a Friday or Saturday night as I heard it can get crazy. Are Sundays generally as busy at lunch time?

They are good until the money runs out and you throw it away (you can add on additional money)

Subbing. going to be there for a week in early November. Cannot wait! Hope they have the cranberry bog this year, it's one of my favorite things, lol.
The cranberry bog was supposed to return last year but didn't. It made a reappearance for the 20th anniversary of F&W in 2015 after being absent from the 2014 festival.

:thanks: Do you know if are you able to use what's remaining as a regular Disney gift card? I mean can you use them to purchase anything at WDW outside of F&W items.

I looked this up on Google and being from Massachusetts, this really interests me and so do the drinks. :lovestruc We'll be there in October so here's hoping this will reappear.

The gift cards are normal Disney gift cards, so they are valid anywhere the gift cards are accepted. I have mine from a couple of years ago, and you can actually reload them at the Disney Store!
