2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

I definitely want to do Party for the Senses again but probably won't since my wife is a vegetarian. She found items to eat and the chefs were accommodating with leaving meat off of some of their items, but it was a bit of a chore

Sounds interesting Was it expensive? Oops never mind, I just found out the prices of last year's event. :scared1:

Considering doing one of the seminars or brunches this year. Are there any AP discounts for any of the F&W events?

I think you get about $2 off if you do one of the 45 minute culinary demos. Also, last year, AP holders get a cute souvenir glass on their third trip into Epcot (easy to do in a week of the F&W).

Yes, this is correct. An annual passholder receives a $2 discount on the beverage seminars and culinary demonstrations Monday through Thursday. The discount is not available for seminars on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Also, you'll need to call in to receive the discount; it's not available to book online (at least not in previous years). There are not any discounts offered for the special events such as Party for the Senses.

Also annual passholders along with DVC members and Disney Visa cardholders are usually able to call in and make reservations for the seminars and some special events one to two days prior to the general public.

This info is based on what was offered in previous years, we have no idea if the discount or prebookings will be offered for 2017.

I am DVC & a Disney VISA cardholder. Do you know how/when I get notified about when I can call in early?

I'm not sure about DVC as I'm not a owner. Disney Visa will usually send out an e-mail to cardholders with the date and phone number for reservations. Often Disney Visa cardholders don't receive their message until after the reservations begin.

Keep a close eye on this thread as we'll have the information posted as soon as it's announced.

Thank you both! :)

I'm both a DVC member and Disney Visa card holder, and I agree with @crazy4wdw: I would NOT count on receiving a notification from them BEFORE things open up. You may get something in advance and may not, at least based on past experience. I generally find out here or on Twitter when things open.

I'm trying to decide which day on Labor Day weekend would be best. I have a feeling that Saturday is going to be slammed being both Labor Day & opening weekend of the festival, but Sunday might too since most will have work off Monday. In a perfect world I could convince my friends to avoid Labor Day weekend, but their work schedules say otherwise.

Went last September with my BFF from High School. We had a blast. Unfortunately she can't go this year. Started thinking about going solo!! I was kind of wavering so I checked the DVC site to see what was available for my dates. I figured I had no chance at my home resort of BWV. Imagine my surprise to find that there was a pool/garden view studio available for my dates in September!! Was this a sign that solo trip was meant to be? lol Going solo!!! Leaving the hubs and teens at home.

I know! just a few more months! My DH and I had such a great time last time! we are going for a full two weeks this time and since it's just us we can sip, eat and walk all we want! September 16th through October 2nd! can't wait to see some of you there!:figment::mickeyjum

Long time Disney guests, first time Food and Wine-rs here, just booked for last week in September.

We've done Flower and Garden the last 3 years so certainly familiar with "booth-hopping" and sampling eats around the world (and resisting the urge to make ADRs) but question for the experienced F+W'ers - we're a large group (9) but we are the only ones with kids (son, 10; daughter, 4). From our experiences at Flower and Garden, we've always been able to make Epcot "fun" for the kids with the Topiaries, the Egg Hunt, Butterfly Garden, etc. What does F+W have, if anything, for kiddie entertainment other than trying new foods (as unfortunately, my kids favorite stop around the world is almost always for Chicken Fingers and Mac and Cheese at Liberty Tavern, and it pains me)?

Really looking forward to it - crossing fingers for no hurricane issues as I know we're going at the height of that season. I am expecting crazy hot and humid weather still - is that fair to expect? April has always been nice as the humidity is lesser, but we've gone in August before and, wow, is all I can say.

Thanks!

Have you heard of the Agent P scavenger hunt?

They used to give you a device, but I believe you use your smart phone now.

This activity is at Epcot year round, that is, it's not just for F&W.

We did it years ago, first when it was Kim Possible themed and then Phineas & Phil. It's a lot of fun for the kids. :)

I wonder if they will have a cheese tasting seminar maybe with a little wine. I would be interested in something like that and DH loves his cheese.

Cheese seminars were offered last year. They were scheduled on Saturday's from 9:15 am to 10:45 am with the cost of $89 per person. Cheeses from a specific county were paired with either wine, beer, or other "spirits".

Hopefully they'll be offered again in 2017!
