2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

OMG! You’re a genius! Thank you, thank you, thank you!:worship: It worked and they’re all in my app now! I didn’t know you could do that. If you’re going to be in the park the week of Oct 22 I owe you a dole whip for saving me so much stress! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted! And thanks everyone else for your suggestions, I knew that my fellow disers would have the answers!

Fabulous news! Does your husband or another adult in your group also have the DLR app? Load the tickets onto that app, too, just to have a back up in case your phone crashes at the turnstiles. Also, take a screen shot of every ticket bar code. Keep the screen shots on your phone and print copies to keep in your travel file. That should cover you in case of emergency. Have a wonderful trip!

@Drnifer also remember that if your phone crashes/can't get a signal at the turn style you can scan your physical tickets. Happened twice to me last weekend and I just pulled the tickets out and scanned them instead.

Went to the party Friday but also had MP for the day on our regular park ticket. MP definitely does not work after the party starts at 7. If we didn't have a day ticket with MP, I don't think we could have used MP from 4-7pm during the cross over time. It was nice to have!

I accidentally threw away the physical tickets which is how I got into this mess. I took screenshots of each ticket and sent them to everyone in our party as a backup. I’ll print them out tonight when I get home, also.

Idk how much of this has been covered over the last few pages but I'm short on time today- I was really excited to give everyone a quick trip report on the Fri night party and my first Halloween time in Disneyland, but alas I can't give a full report. I did see the parks during the day and evening, they are cute and I advise everyone to take the chance to look around the shops and remember- look up! There are some great Halloween displays up above. Buena Vista street at night was beautiful! It's lit up with purple lights and done wonderfully. Do check out the Headless Horseman statue during the evening- I had no idea it has special effects!

I went Thurs afternoon - Sun morning, planned on Fri Halloween Party. Woke up sometime early Friday morning sick as a dog. Who gets the flu at Disneyland? Probably lots of people now that I'm thinking about it and apparently I did, I couldn't leave my hotel room and my friend brought me what I needed to get better. Obviously missed my Halloween party Fri night but my friend enjoyed it a bit- it was my gift to her and she felt guilty going alone but I was like "you have to!" so she reluctantly went but had some fun once she was there. She did Pirates 3 times, Big Thunder a couple times, Indy a couple times and Haunted Mansion Holiday. She said everything but HMH was practically walk-on and even HMH was only like 30 mins. She was worried she'd feel silly as an adult in costume but was fine once she hit the parks, as many have stated adults and children dress up for the party. She even saw a group of adults dressed up as the Harry Potter professors and their Dumbledore looked legit- even had (she thinks) a real beard!

Thankfully I was pretty recovered by Sat and got to enjoy a full day in the parks. Couldn't eat much of that wonderful park food but other than that I was totally fine. The rides were our focus so I didn't get much of a chance to soak in the Halloween until Sat night when we walked down Buena Vista Street- seriously make sure to see it at night! GOTG transitions into Monsters after Dark (or something like that?) but we didn't do it. Idk if they have FPs for it but that's the ONLY way I'd do it- it had a 180 min wait Sat night!

Overall I really wish I'd planned a longer trip- even if I hadn't gotten sick- because I felt I did not have the time to stop and take pictures and see all the little details in the Halloween decorations. I'm bummed about these moving the party to DCA rumors next year, I feel like I've missed out on something very special as a party in DCA just does not appeal to me in the same way Disneyland did, but at the same time I'm incredibly grateful I was only down for the count for one day and still got to enjoy 2 full days in the parks.

Ouch! Sorry- I ought not post without catching up!

Great info. I was just debating whether we should add it as we also have a separate PH that day too..

I happened to glance at it last night and was surprised at well. But I will say during the party on Wednesday many times the wait times posted at the actual ride (Like Space Mountain, Thunder, Splashetc) would say 15 or 20 minutes and the ride was actually a complete walk on. When. Went on Space Moutnisn the wait times at the ride
, not in the app, said 20minutes but it was actually walk on. I think they may sell more tickets for the Friday night parties, but that is purely speculation on my part
Wait, Thunder is open? I thought it was closed for reno?

Has anyone gone to the party closer 4? Our party is the 17th so we can enter at 3pm for the day. We have park hoppers for that morning too and I am trying to figure out the best time to leave the parks to go get into my costume.
The kids will wear theirs all day so they can meet Jack and Sally before the parties, but I know that I can't dress up until the party.
I don't want to try and get back in at 3 with everyone else so I was hoping to get my bracelets earlier in the day and come back around 4 in the hopes that the crowds at the gates have calmed down. Any advice is appreciated.

Get a view of the castle! I love fireworks but the castle projections were my favorite part. The fireworks get better towards the end. At first I was unimpressed.

Gah! I want one soooo bad. Hopefully I'll be able to get one!

We asked a vendor last night who had no line and heard they have sold out of Oogie Boogie popcorn holders park-wide. With no more inventory expected until October 7. Ten days. Sold out. And I saw 1 person with 4. Expect to see some on eBay. Wish Disney planned a little better for their merch & had some limits on purchases. Sigh.

I don't believe they hand out bracelets for the party earlier in the day. Maybe the within the hour of when they allow you in the parks. Someone who may have done this can respond with more info on this.

They did have a limit of two. But you could have someone stand with you to get two more or even stand in line again.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get your wristband until 3:00 pm, but I entered the park around 4:15 pm yesterday with my MHP ticket and there was almost no line to get in. Crowds ebb and flow, but I do think the ability to enter DCA does make a difference (better distribution).

Wait, Thunder is open? I thought it was closed for reno?
I know it was running last night during the party. The posted wait time was 15 minutes around 7:30 pm.

An update regarding fireworks...last night I watched them a little further back on Main Street. If you draw a line from Refreshment Corner to the Camera/Photopass Shop, that's about where I was this time. I could clearly see the entire orb (it was just above the tree line). So it looks like being slightly further down Main Street (opposed to being between Plaza and Jolly Holiday), makes a big difference.

Also, you cannot follow the first parade from IaSW to Main Street. They won't let anyone through the area where no one can sit (so basically from Alice to the Alice bathroom) because the area is closed for fireworks prep. So you have to go through Tomorrowland (around the Matterhorn). I think this is probably true for any nighttime parade that happens close to fireworks.

The Villians meet and greet is very different this year. There are only two villians at the formal M&G location and each has their own line (it's at the same place as last year - in front of the train station). The first villain didn't come out until about 6:30 pm last night (the character greeter CM said they wait until the day crowds thin out). The first two were the Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier. The trade-off seems to be that there are several roaming villians in Town Square (renamed Villians Square). I saw the Queen of Hearts, Malificient, and Gaston all roaming at the same time. At the end of the party, Malificient and Gaston move to the two M&G locations until the end of the party.
