Idk how much of this has been covered over the last few pages but I'm short on time today- I was really excited to give everyone a quick trip report on the Fri night party and my first Halloween time in
Disneyland, but alas I can't give a full report. I did see the parks during the day and evening, they are cute and I advise everyone to
take the chance to look around the shops and remember- look up! There are some great Halloween displays up above.
Buena Vista street at night was beautiful! It's lit up with purple lights and done wonderfully. Do check
out the Headless Horseman statue during the evening- I had no idea it has special effects!
I went Thurs afternoon - Sun morning, planned on Fri Halloween Party. Woke up sometime early Friday morning sick as a dog. Who gets the flu at Disneyland? Probably lots of people now that I'm thinking about it and apparently I did, I couldn't leave my hotel room and my friend brought me what I needed to get better. Obviously missed my Halloween party Fri night but my friend enjoyed it a bit- it was my gift to her and she felt guilty going alone but I was like "you have to!" so she reluctantly went but had some fun once she was there. She did Pirates 3 times, Big Thunder a couple times, Indy a couple times and Haunted Mansion Holiday. She said everything but HMH was practically walk-on and even HMH was only like 30 mins. She was worried she'd feel silly as an adult in costume but was fine once she hit the parks, as many have stated adults and children dress up for the party. She even saw a group of adults dressed up as the Harry Potter professors and their Dumbledore looked legit- even had (she thinks) a real beard!
Thankfully I was pretty recovered by Sat and got to enjoy a full day in the parks. Couldn't eat much of that wonderful park food but other than that I was totally fine. The rides were our focus so I didn't get much of a chance to soak in the Halloween until Sat night when we walked down Buena Vista Street- seriously make sure to see it at night! GOTG transitions into Monsters after Dark (or something like that?) but we didn't do it. Idk if they have FPs for it but that's the ONLY way I'd do it- it had a 180 min wait Sat night!
Overall I really wish I'd planned a longer trip- even if I hadn't gotten sick- because
I felt I did not have the time to stop and take pictures and see all the little details in the Halloween decorations. I'm bummed about these moving the party to DCA rumors next year, I feel like I've missed out on something very special as a party in DCA just does not appeal to me in the same way Disneyland did, but at the same time I'm incredibly grateful I was only down for the count for one day and still got to enjoy 2 full days in the parks.
