2015 Annual Christmas Gift List Ideas for TEEN GIRLS

i am having a hard time coming up with ideas for DD13. I did get some ideas from this thread last year, so I hope more people contribute. So far, none of the ideas posted here are anything my D would be interested in. Well, maybe the hair straightener. I must admit to being puzzled by the Japanese snack boxes?? Never heard of such a thing and we can find most of those snacks in our grocery store and even Walmart carries them. She wants a phone, but that's not happening (will be grade 8 grad gift instead). Small gifts are easy - probably some Roots socks, a movie or two, books. Some gift cards. I'm considering a new hockey stick or tickets to a NHL game. Need to find that one special gift though, and I'm really stuck. I'll keep checking back to see what others have posted! thanks

Lol but box won't have Japanese postage on it and be all cutely packaged if u do it yourself lol, but cheaper for sure. But I am not springing for year long one then I may be at Walmart too. How u get some good ideas from this thread as it picks up steam next month

I bought my first Christmas gift so far. It's a Nuluv® By Nailuv® Professional 6-Piece All-In-One Gel Polish for $10.?? on sale with free shipping says it was $120 regular price. Not sure if its a good brand or quality but couldn't pass it up.

My daughter loves Jamba juice so I'll get her a giftcard to there. Maybe a starbucks card too. Her only request is a MAC laptop . Not sure what else to get her. She's a December baby so its hard-lol!

Does she need a trunk for camp? Or anything else that might be related?

My niece and nephew have done camp for two weeks since they were 8. Trunks were Christmas gifts before their first year and hammocks have been a gift for both recently. They love to use the hammocks at camp.

I have a question for those of you with girls that draw - what kind of markers do your girls like? My DD mostly uses promarkers, but they all seem to be running dry and need replacing. She is interested in trying some other brands but unsure of what is good. Also, is there a better website than amazon to buy art suplies? We'd been living abroad and are back in the States now, so I'm a little lost with some things , lol.

My DD19 is an artist and a college sophomore design major. She uses Prismacolor colored pencils and Copic markers. Last Christmas I gave her a few sets of Copics and a carrying case. I got the copics and case on Amazon. Hobby Lobby carries Prismacolor so I've bought those with the 40% off coupon.

Basically they plug into a TV's HGMI port. You can access Amazon Prime shows and Netflix if you have a subscription. We don't have cable so we just watch Netflix. A fire stick is cheaper than a Roku or Apple TV Box.

We are a cable less family. Having used several platforms to access Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Now, I highly recommend Apple TV. It is much more responsive then the others. Connects more quickly, never buffers, etc... We thought we had internet issues until we bought Apple TV. Unless money is a big issue, I'd go with it over Roku or a Fire stick.

Thanks for the coloring book ideas. I just ordered some for my DD, DDIL and DSs girlfriend. Its something I can get all 3 of them.

Quick question, what do they use to color with? Markers, crayons or pencils or even something new I don't know about.

My DD19 bought us coloring books this summer. We used Prismacolor pencils to color. You can buy them at Hobby Lobby or Michaels with their weekly coupons to save on them as they are pricey.

My DD is 19 and a college sophomore so older than most on this thread. Honestly, I could buy her gifts all day, every day, and never run out of ideas. It's more an issue of holding myself back.

So far, I hit a recent Kate Spade sale and got her a cross body bag, tennis shoes, and a wallet. Her grandmother bought her a laptop case, a watch, and a large bag at the same sale. Kate Spade is her current designer obsession so she will be thrilled.

Her Macbook met an untimely death and insurance replaced it just after this semester started. The day we replaced it, the Apple store was giving away beats with a Mac purchase. She loves them so much that I will be looking for deals on wireless beats on Black Friday.

I'll get her an outfit with maybe a fringed poncho. Probably a dress and heels. Looking at the blanket scarves that are so popular. She and all of her friends are very into watches right now. Her grandma already got one and that seems to be something her boyfriend usually gets so unless I see a great deal or perfect watch, I'll skip that probably.

She loves yoga pants, loose sweatshirts, monogramming, and cute athletic shoes so I'll probably combine those into a gift.

Probably will put an Ulta gc in her stocking along with some Lush bath products. She loves to try new premium makeups but I wouldn't try to predict what exactly she is wanting to try.

Sneek a peek at her pinterest page if she has one and get ideas from there :thumbsup2

Which subscription boxes are the best for make-up or bath type stuff?

My DD (12 now, but was 11 last Cmas), has really enjoyed the Boodle Box subscription boxes she's received this year. They've been really fun to open every month and well worth the money spent on that gift. I'm thinking I may do a 3 month subscription for my niece this year.

I was at BestBuy yesterday talking to them about AppleTV. I guess the new version got pushed back until next month. Current version is like $70 and new version will be $140. Considering AppleTV for my two teens for their bedrooms and a SmartTV for family room. I don't have an iPhone (I like Samsung) but they do.

Kipling has some crossbody bags on sale if your DD likes that style. I love Kipling as they are excellent quality and hold up well. I know they had a 48 hour sale this weekend.

DD17 uses Prismacolor colored pencils and Copic markers (though almost always just the colored pencils). She says the Prismas have made all the difference in her drawing. She also learned techniques from the internet though. I found the large sets to be much cheaper on Amazon than at Hobby Lobby. I think I got her the 72 pc set last year. I need to find out if the bigger sets are all different colors, or if they contain duplicates. Or get a list of individual colors she wants or needs.

We bought Copics from Dick Blick where she could easily choose individual colors, plus I got a skin colors set on Amazon.

So far DD17 wants Inside Out DVD, a new Just Dance wii game, Taylor Swift CDs, and a Polaroid camera.

DD14 hasn't started a list yet but it will be sure to include pullover hoodies, pretty dresses, and anything Marvel/Disney/Agents of Shield/Harry Potter/Once Upon a Time...she is a member of many fandoms.

I only have one child, DD16, and this will be the hardest Christmas ever to surprise her with anything. She is not a girly girl, loves the store Hot Topic but honestly how much can you accumulate from there anyway? Loves or did love retro video games (Mario and Pokémon and such) and goes to a private school with uniforms so clothing ideas only take me so far.

THis year I was looking to do something different like NEEDS READS and WANTS or something like that. I always do a gift that relates to old childhood passions (small lego set or cute retro toy etc). She absolutely loves music and has different guitars...Was thinking of a ukulele ?

As you can see my list needs serious help. Anxious for your ideas!!!

I read your description and thought "Hey, she's got my daughter!"

Seriously though, my DD14 is the same - loves 90s fashion/alt rock music, would live in Hot Topic if she could, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Batman, and Harley Quinn
It's been the hardest year so far, but some things I've gotten her/have on her list:

  • Bundles from some of her favorite artists (example - New Year's Day and Halsey both had album/clothing bundles) - a lot of times they have autographed items or items that are only available if you get the bundle, so she'll be THRILLED
  • Ticket stub organizer album
  • Fall Out Boy concert
  • 128gb micro SD card for her phone to hold all her music
  • Gift cards to Hot Topic, Journeys, rue21, and Forever 21
  • Platform boots from Bat Royalty
  • Some more Burton Funko Pops
  • Harry Potter magnetic bookmarks from Etsy

I'm still trying to think of some ideas here and there, but I'm pretty much finished, I think

Skoshbox is mailed from Hawaii not Japan. Very few of these Japanese boxes are mailed directly from Japan otherwise they wouldn't be as inexpensive and free of import fees. International shipping gets complicated.

My DD is 11 this year I think she'd love one of these box subscriptions. I'm not sure which box to get for her the 6-11 box or the 12+ box, which one did you get for your DD and what types of products are in the boxes?

My DD is a member of Ipsy right now, but I think she is going to change to Birchbox for awhile and see what its like.

My daughter has Ipsy, I had Birchbox. Birchbox has more older women products in my opinion. I don't thin Teens would like Birchbox as much as Ipsy. Birchbox is about earning points to buy the expensive full size items. My daughter rarely asked for anything out of my Birchbox.

Get the 12+ box. My DD has loved it. I think the other would be too young and babyish. We've gotten some GREAT stuff in our boxes - make up samples, scarves, jewelry, hair products and hair accessories. She's LOVED it. And I've taken a few of things she didn't want for myself :).

For those of you considering the Clarisonic Mia 2, I just got the Conair version at Costco for $80. It is in a combo pack with the foot brush. The Conair doesn't get as good reviews for durability, but I figured if it breaks I can return it to Costco and at least I'll know if she likes it and uses it.

And another idea which came from everyone's recommendation of the subscription boxes...There is a phone case of the month club, which is perfect for my girl who always is looking for new phone cases.
