2015 Annual Christmas Gift List Ideas for TEEN GIRLS

Does anyone have a opinion on the different Japanese boxes? This is right up my dd's alley, but there are so many of them... Skoshbox, Tokyo Treat, Japancrate, Om Nom. I have no idea which one to go with.

Agreed . I researched a little Tokyo treats seems to have coupons and gets good reviews. Slosh box reviews didn't seem as positive but could be personal tastes on the candy etx.? I plan to order Toyko treats mid November for 12/1 ship date doing 3 big boxes instead of full year

My daughter wants to go to summer camp for 2 weeks. She went this past summer for 1 week, and a few years before for 1 week. So, part of her Christmas will be paying for summer camp tuition. I haven't thought of how to present it to her yet. She knows it is going to be part of her Christmas. She got a laptop right before school started, gets clothes throughout the year, Ipsy subscription already, etc. There is not really anything she needs or wants, except a Mophie phone case. She will probably get that for Christmas too! She is 12.

As far as the Asian snack food boxes, you can get the majority of those snacks at your local Asian or World Market. I lived in Korea for almost 6 years and can't imagine ordering those boxes for the prices they want. But if you don't have a local market that sells it, I would see about ordering from another company. I guess the boxes are cute, just you can get more snacks for the same price elsewhere. I like Pockey's and my local walmart sells them in the Asian food section.

This link tells you 35 snacks available on amazon. Some exact same as in Tokyo Treat box. http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinalan/asian-snacks-you-need-in-your-life#.fu225PDgv

Does she need a trunk for camp? Or anything else that might be related?
We just use a regular suitcase. Some kids take trunks but I don't see spending a couple hundred dollars on a truck just for camp (they do have some nice ones) when a suitcase we currently owns work fine. I have looked at the trunks. It would just be another item to store junk in the garage inside for the 11 months of the year. She already has a customized travel suitcase with her cheer gym logo on it from CheerLuggage.com It's her carry on luggage for all of our cheer trips and hotel stays. :)

This is an extreme sports camp. www.campwoodward.com She attends the cheerleading program. This camp offers skateboarding, bmx, parkour, gymnastics, cheer, digital media, inline, snowboarding, etc.

I ordered the Dekabox for my niece for her birthday. She got the first box today. I was impressed and she was very happy. There were about 8 or 9 items in the box. 5 or 6 full size multi serving candies then 2 or 3 items that I would consider snack size individual serving. I also signed up to add one inedible item. It was a cute accessory for a pencil. The box came nicely packaged with a card that had a picture of each item and a description in English of what each item was. All of the candy packaging was in Japanese.

Apparently adult coloring books are cool with teens now. Ordered enchanted forest by Johanna basford from amazon along with nice pencils. Intricate fantasy type color books designed to reduce stress.

That sounds like it would cause me stress! But I bet my DD might like those:)

This has been a very helpful thread, my oldest DD will be 14 in a week :)

She is in to anime and Japanese culture, so one of the subscription boxes mentioned here will be a great gift for her.

I have a question for those of you with girls that draw - what kind of markers do your girls like? My DD mostly uses promarkers, but they all seem to be running dry and need replacing. She is interested in trying some other brands but unsure of what is good. Also, is there a better website than amazon to buy art suplies? We'd been living abroad and are back in the States now, so I'm a little lost with some things , lol.

I was at the mall this afternoon with the kids for the Lego mini build. Dd13 saw a handbag she liked in Macy's. It looked like a square box. She mentioned it twice while we were there. I may go back on Friday if I have a chance and get it. That will be one more thing knocked off the list. Her big gift will be a TV for her room and we'll get her a fire stick so she can watch Netflix.

Can u educate me on benefits of fire stick? We don't allow electromics in bedrooms but dd16 has iPad but no net flicks subscription she finds stuff on prime to watch etc. what is benefit of fire stick? Thanks!

I bought my DD a set of Prismacolor markers. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007L4MFS8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

Copic markers are also really nice art markers. They are pricey, but from what I understand they are a true artist marker. Which ever type you buy, make sure you buy the proper paper. Marker paper is made to not absorb the ink as much as some other types of paper and is very smooth. If you don't want to buy from Amazon, there are a ton of different art stores online you can buy from. Some have really good prices, some not so much. Also, Micheal's, Joann Fabrics, etc. have discount coupons that make them more affordable also.

My DD13 is probably going to ask for a new pair of Dr. Martens, anything from Hot Topic (I'm seeing a trend here. LOL), concert tickets (last year we bought her ones to a music festival and the whole family went.)
I think I'll get her an electric razor since she seems to think this would be better for her. I also will be buying a bunch of art supplies. I don't know where she gets the talent from, but she loves to draw.

Basically they plug into a TV's HGMI port. You can access Amazon Prime shows and Netflix if you have a subscription. We don't have cable so we just watch Netflix. A fire stick is cheaper than a Roku or Apple TV Box.

I pre-ordered Game of thrones coloring book for DD 22 and they have a cute Alice in wonderland coming-out soon.

Where did you find the Alice in Wonderland coloring book? That's my dd's latest obsession after reading the Insanity Series books.

Thank you for taking the time to reply :)

I've heard of Copic, but don't think I know of Prismacolor so I will check those out. I agree about the paper, it's really important. I am so out of the habit of using coupons (eek!) I forget to look for them when I'm comparing prices so thanks again for reminding me. (Of all the things I thought I'd have to do when repatriating, learning how to shop again was not one of them, lol.)

I think Hot Topic has a lock on this age group!

When you have a daughter that draws as much as mine does, you learn to find the bargains. The Prismacolor set I bought her was slightly less on Amazon that with a 50% off coupon at Michael's. She really likes the markers, but I think she secretly wants the copic. There are also online classes that can be taken to learn how to use the markers properly. Thinking of looking into one of those for a gift too.

Thanks for the coloring book ideas. I just ordered some for my DD, DDIL and DSs girlfriend. Its something I can get all 3 of them.

Quick question, what do they use to color with? Markers, crayons or pencils or even something new I don't know about.
