So does Sandy Cove only sell it in gallons? I had heard that gallon jugs dont fit, but half gallons do. We are staying in a standard room.

I'm not sure what sizes they currently have, I know in the past I saw pints & quarts. They might have added larger sizes since the Villas have opened, maybe someone who has been there more recently can answer better than I.

You're welcome!:)

I got your PM, but am having trouble responding (my computer is running slow, I hope I'm able to post this!). Do you have a photo hosting account? If so, you should be able to send your photos from your phone to your account.:flower3: HTH!

I unfortunately don't know anything about computers--I don't even know what a photo hosting account is! :confused3 I have a friend who is a little more computer literate, I'll ask her to help me. I was so impressed with the GF that I took a ton of pictures on my phone!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

I am still here....even though I haven't posted!!! Busy beautiful weekend!!

Just read that the Back Lot Tour is closing!!!! What is going to left at Hollywood Studios. Other then the two big rides, my favorite TSM, Art Academy and few other small rides and shows here and there???? In July, we left so early, because we were DONE with the park...that never happens!!!!

Hi all. I'm fairly new to the thread..posted a few times when we quickly had to make a decision about the WL pool being closed. We ultimately decided on GF over the Contemporary. We will be there 11/15 through 11/22. First trip for DS7 and DD4, first time onsite for me and haven't been since 1990, and only 2nd time onsite for DH and hasn't been since 1997...needless to say, we are very excited!! So, my questions:

1) Do I want to do online check-in? We are a Lagoon View. I know that I don't want a dormer room, because we want an open balcony, but is there a particularly building I should choose and any chance of seeing Wishes and/or the Water Pageant from these rooms? Are any rooms quieter (I am a light sleeper).

2) How long should I estimate for DME to GF? Our flgiht lands at 11 am on a Saturday.

3) How long for luggage delivery?

4) When should I expect to have to be back to GF for DME home? Our flight leaves at 8 pm on a Saturday.

Thanks!!!

I like to do online check in but others can help with room choice.
2) How long should I estimate for DME to GF? Our flgiht lands at 11 am on a Saturday.

12:15-1:15

It used to be 90 minutes but this year every time I ran a little longer.
3) How long for luggage delivery?
If you use dme for luggage it is supposed to be 3 hours from CHECK IN TIME. ( I say that because people often think from time they land.)
4) When should I expect to have to be back to GF for DME home? Our flight leaves at 8 pm on a Saturday.
Return DME is very close to 3 hours prior to departure flight time. So for you 5pm ish +/- 15 mins.

Have a great trip:wave2:

We just got back yesterday, and we definitely found our perfect dream vacation home! We loved the GF! It was so beautiful and quiet, and we loved watching fireworks from Narcoossee's and then taking a dip in the hot tub! Our meals at 1800 Park Faire and Narcoosee's were excellent. We visited the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club, but that area seemed so crowded and busy, and we didn't love the restaurant. We also visited a restaurant at the Polynesian, but so much was hidden by scaffolding, including the pool, and you could see construction dumpsters at the lagoon through the upstairs lobby windows. I had thought we might stay at the Yacht or Beach Club next time to save money, but we would really prefer to stay at the GF again if possible. I hope we get a great offer in the mail for a return trip next September!

Does anyone know how long it would take to walk from the GF to the MK? My husband thinks it would not be too long, but I was so foot sore after our 3rd day that I would not even contemplate it! :p

Thanks!

PS--I guess the only things we didn't love were the lack of a door between the entrance and vanity area and the bedroom. (We had a standard size lagoon view.) I was always the last one to get ready for bed after helping the others and preparing for the next day, and I couldn't use a hair dryer without disturbing the others. But I guess that is typical of all the resorts? I didn't see an outlet in the water closet to use. I also regretted leaving my pillow at home. The pillows were perfectly fine, but mine is older and squishes flatter. LOL. I really missed having it there!

Thanks for the quick response! 3 hours from when I check-in or 3 hours from the 3 p.m. check-in (which would mean 6 p.m.)? I think it's fine either way...just curious. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed your stay.:goodvibes

My dh prefers his flat pillow from home too, lol! I love the resort pillows:cloud9:

Sorry but there is not a pathway from GF to Mk. Monorail or boat are your options.:boat:

Hubby and I will be staying at VGF this upcoming week. Yey so excited:hyper: I know the monorail times are limited. Does anyone know what time the boats to MK start to run? We will be doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour and have to be there around 8 am. We prefer to take the boats instead of the bus. TIA.

Hi,
I have a few questions about how the pool slide works...
How deep is the water at the end of the slide?
Can children wear life vests down the slide?
Can parents catch them at the end of the slide?
Or any other info you can give me.

Just wondering the rules of the pools...
Thanks! Kim princess:

The Beach Pool isn't very deep, no place over my head. I doubt there's anywhere over 5' although I dodnt notice exact depth by slide. They do have life vests and children can wear them on slide.

We did on line check in. We were in Big Pine key lagoon view, faced Poly and had a nice view of water parade. I doubt you'd be able to see Wishes as that would be a theme park view, but we enjoyed watching from the patio area by Gaspys.

You're welcome!:)

Queen deluxe rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floors; 4 rectangular rooms over the courtyard (4319/20 & 4419/20) and 2 over the Beach Pool (4322 & 4422). There are also standard rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors directly below the one you were just in, in case 4025 is occupied on your next visit. We enjoy being in the atrium area, too, all three floors are pretty great.

We had a 3rd floor deluxe Queen room, it was amazing! After check in and getting into out room I went out on the balcony and there was a wedding party below!! Actually during our stay there were lots of weddings!

AhCuocake, Blue & MickeyNut thanks all for the good wishes! Last August I did a split stay with YC, so this past Aug it was so nice to have 2 weeks at GF!
Just booked next August trip, decided Poly this time, it's been awhile & curious to see it finished!

I forgot to mention...we had a small lizard in our room during our trip to the GF last week. Every once in a while it would startle someone before hiding again. :lmao: We just ignored it. Is this common? We saw many of them outside the building, but only one inside it.

I saw this on another Disney message board:

Sep 23, 2014 8:22am EDT

New monorail operating schedule to begin on September 27

A new revised operating schedule for the Walt Disney World Monorail system will be in operation from September 27 2014.

Magic Kingdom Resort beam - 7am to 1 hour after park close
Magic Kingdom Express beam - 8:30am to 1 hour following park close
Epcot beam - 8am to 11pm or 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closes (whichever is earliest)

YES! :)

Hello again, all my GRAND friends!:grouphug: Still trying to get back into my old routine, haven't gotten caught up on the thread.

I finally got my recent GF photos copied to my computer, but still need to upload most to Photobucket.

Thanks for popping in, I hope you are getting back into your normal routine :flower3:. Can't wait to see all of your beautiful pics.

Good Afternoon  Not much going on in my part of the NE, it's kind of cool & overcast today. Still no trip planned, but I'm trying to plan one for that big birthday that we ladies don't like so right now I'm living vicariously through all of that have up coming trips

Hey Blue, MickeyNut, grannyminnie & Maxie(I know you're down there now)

Hi ahcupcake :)

Hope the "big" birthday trip plans are coming along, it's always fun planning a Disney trip but it's more exciting when it's for a special celebration :goodvibes.

I hear you on being busy, things have been a little crazy around here, too....not a lot of computer time for me either. It's crazy how so many things are closing at DHS :sad2:. We do enjoy DHS, but find we don't spend alot of time there as we seem to get everything we want to do done in very little time.

And American idol experience is closed... They need to get something in there fast!!

I agree.

Congrats on your upcoming GF stay :).

1. Doing OCI is a matter of preference and while we have never done it, there are others who love it. I prefer to check in at the resort in person and chat with the front desk CM. As far as which building is best, that's another personal preference. Big Pine Key and Boca Chica are close to the main building and beach pool, but Sago Cay might be a little quieter as it's located away from the courtyard pool and close to the convention center.

2/3. We don't use DME, so I can't help with a time frame for arriving at the resort or for luggage delivery.

4. I can't answer from experience, but from what I've read on these boards, you will be given a pick up time of about 3 hours prior to your flight, as trisha posted, which would be 5:00 pm. With that said, I have seen it recommended to arrive at the pick up spot 15 minutes prior to that time as sometimes the buses are early.

Welcome back, glad you had a great stay and enjoyed the GF :goodvibes.

As trisha posted, there is no walkway to MK.

Those deluxe rooms look amazing and is definitely on my list to try the next time we stay RPC ::yes::.

I bet it was nice to see so many weddings.

Congrats on having booked your trip for next August. We are talking about a July trip back to the Poly next July. We loved the Poly before all of the construction/renovations, but I am excited to see it finished.

I forgot to mention...we had a small lizard in our room during our trip to the GF last week. Every once in a while it would startle someone before hiding again. :lmao: We just ignored it. Is this common? We saw many of them outside the building, but only one inside it.
