2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

I was only at F&W pre-magic bands. Last time we purchased a pre-paid card that we wore on our wrists to charge all our food at the booths. Are magic bands now used instead? I'm guessing they are, but was hoping you could confirm that. Thanks!!

You can use your magic band or you can buy the gift card that you put on your wrist. It is up to you

Yes, you can use either. Just remember that if you use your Magic Band it charges back the the cc you left on your room.

The new wrist GCs can actually be scanned by the CMs for a much faster ordering experience. I was going to load more $ onto the one I had from a few years ago, but decided to get the new one. I am glad I did.

For the 3d Dessert Party how early do you think I should be in line? The event starts at 8

I think my family planned to arrive at the waiting area about 45 minutes before the event started on the night we went (a few years ago). We wanted to be near the front so we would be able to get a table.

I just booked the beer pairing luncheon at Via Napoli for DH & I for the 21st. Anyone try this yet? Would like to hear some recent reviews.

We are also going on the 21st...did this the past two years and had a great time...but if you're not into real beer you might not be happy with what is served (hopefully you are :).)

Only downer this year is the price...went from $55 to $72 that made me think about it a bit before booking. Both the beer and food offerings have been excellent. Supposedly a Cantillon collaboration beer is being served this day (a sour) which will be a real treat.

Good to hear. Any way to find out what food they'll be serving ahead of time or do you just find out when you get there?

Keep in mind, the yellow F&W festival specific MBs is for people who paid for the premium late night live thingy. The MBs associated with a resort stay can be used at the F&W too, as long as there is a CC linked to the room reservation.

My hash went directly from the "frying pan" into the little plate thingy. It was hot and fresh and tasted horrid IMHO.

I have no idea about the chicken. The sauce was "fire" and if you didn't eat it the chicken was just a plain boring chicken breast.

I was not impressed

We thought the cheese sauce overpowered everything, and the jalapenos didn't taste pickled at all, though they didn't taste bad.

The chicken dish was ok. The greens were tasty but they taste like mine. The sauce wasn't much more than Frank's buffalo sauce.

AND the Printout for room charges will be a thick book!;)
That's why I am getting the card that you load $$ on:thumbsup2

You can have your resort reciept emailed to you and they won't print it out any more

Although you no longer get a bill in your room the day of checkout and it is emailed to you (if you have an email address on file) you can get a print out from the front desk.

.Which I why I said you can I didn't say you have to

I realize that-but still think loading $$ to a prepaid card helps us "control" or monitor if we have spent enough that way-if I am just swinging my arm at each booth I could spend LOTS more $$$ that I want ;)

I like your way of thinking....DH only takes so much cash and no credit card to a casino and when it's gone no more gambling. Following the same line of thinking....we take a predetermined amount of cash for food and wine festival each day and when it's gone we are done eating. Saves big surprises on the hotel bill at the end of the week and calories !;)

Hi everyone! We just got back on Thursday from a 2 week trip enjoying F&W! We will be back in a couple of weeks for another 2 week trip. Is there anything anyone wants to know? We have had a lot of fun and consider this to be one of the best F&W festivals yet!
