How long of a walk is the Hess station from BC. We won't have a car and I don't want to carry a case of water very far. We also have the dining plan and will not need snacks so I will have a hard time getting the minimum order at Staples and can't find the info on the other site.[/QUOTE

I've actually seen where people who suggested doing this took an empty pull along suitcase and put the case if water inside for easy transport back to the resort!

Robyn: glad you had a great time and got to step foot in Disney!!!

because I am a Disney planning spaz. I just found out that in 10 days I can book (room only) for my 2015 trip.
I can not wait. I can not wait I can not wait.

Is a standard room at club level ok, or do I need garden view? We don't care about the view as much as the walk to get to the pool/bus ect.

Thank you for answering my questions.

Standard view will be of a roof or parking lot. The GV is very nice on CL.

I feel your pain. I booked a room only at 499 days and we are now at 80 days. Seems like it has been forever!!!!!

crap. now I need to see how much more garden view is than standard.

Hi there... I was only able to get the Tomorrowland Dessert party for an evening where we had planned an "off" night and maybe do the pool or the Boardwalk (our morning will be filled with Animal Kingdom). I was wondering how long you think it would take to get to the MK just to go for the dessert party, and if it would be worth it. Or, would it be shorter to get to the Poly for the fireworks on the beach (not sure if they do that now anymore with the new construction). I keep trying back to see if another reservation will open up, but if not I want to have a plan :)

Thanks!!

Hello all! Just back from our Easter/Spring break trip. We stayed YCGVCL, we had room 5152. It overlooked the wedding gazebo. The lounge was always quite busy. I'm glad we had a room not too far away b/c there was never anywhere to sit. Sometimes the place was full of people wanting to help and sometimes no one was in site and there would be dirty dishes all over the place. They did have someone always serving the alcohol. Also, the "to go" cups were away and i was told they were by request only but by the end of my stay, they were back out on the counters again. They were taking down the walls around the new seven dwarfs ride, but had decorative bushes up at the enterance and exit. So close and yet so far! Have to wait till July for that one, I guess. The crowds must've come earlier in the month, because the lines were all pretty good. Of course, after being there at Christmas vacation, everything was so much better anyhow! lol Even the staff at Disney were saying how the crowds weren't bad. I had two ressies since I had booked a bounce back offer and the offer didn't cover my first day and I ended up having a problem with my magic bands. It kicked all my bands off when I rechecked in. I have many magic bands, one set from a trip in Dec, 1 set from being annual passholders, 2 sets from this trip and then I added my niece and they sent me another set. The CM had to enter them all back in (although I know at least 1 still didn't work after that but I wasn't going through that again!). I decorated my magic bands and had been planning on wearing them with different outfits. My one from Dec. worked just fine when I checked in on the first day and I was able to use it for my room - no problem. So, I was disappointed in that when I checked back in, it had removed them all. I have another 2 ressies for summer. What to do now? I wasn't even going to customize those bands and just use the ones I have. Now, I feel like I should only keep 1 or 2 and deactivate the rest. I'm definitely not going to have them all reactiviated again when I change resorts in July, if it kicks them out again.

Eek. Not happy to hear about the disappointing CL service. We've had amazing CL experiences at GF, BC, BWI and AKL. We're trying YC CL in August for the first time. I really hope it's a pleasant experience. It sounds like all those who seem to think that CL= Meal Replacement have forced the staff into policing the food and alcohol, and that's sad.

It really depends on what you want. If as you say the view is not that important then a SV will be fine. We had 2 connecting SV rooms in the dead center of the front entrance of the resort. We had a view of the main entrance, the BCV, and Spaceship Earth. We could also see the fountain in the lagoon. We were just a short walk to the CL lounge and the elevators. We were happy with our view. Here are some pics to help you see what a SV could be.

Next question. Does the IPO book your fast pass plus too?

I just received an email this morning from YC CL with the form they ask you to fill out with your requests... No where on the form does it have what FP+ options would you like to book. So not sure if you ask if they can do that or not.

I decided to be the one to book all my requests this year and not have them book anything. I've had them do it before and it was fine, but for whatever reason I'm being a control freak regarding this trip. This could just be because it involves 4 resorts, but I have CL at 3 of the 4, so I guess I just don't want to be bothered OR it would be more work to fill the forms and email them, so I'll just do it myself!

I did this in September... looking for lottery tickets :) I walked through the BW parking lot and it's just across the street from the entrance gate for BW. It is a bit of a hike, so if you decide to walk over there for water I suggest you take YCFan's advice and bring a suitcase to put it in!!

That is a fantastic suggestion. Adding that to my tips file.

More links- these will give you some additional samples of Standard View vs. Garden View.

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories (standard, garden, lagoon/pool) at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Please note that we generally do not recommend that you request a particular room number for your stay at the resort, but instead let the room assigner know what is most important to you:

Full Balcony?
Close to Elevator?
Close to Lobby/Pool/Transportation?
Daybed?

If you request a particular room number, and that room is not available on the day you are checking in, the room assigner may not know the attributes of the room you want, so you may not get the room that best suits your needs.

1) One of the advantages of booking a GV CLUB LEVEL BC room is that all of the rooms in this category (currently) have full balconies

2) I had a SV Club Level room at the Beach Club in 2010. A few doors down from the rooms/views Shari showed. I had views of some of the upper Illuminations fireworks and a really nice, but distant, view of the MK fireworks.

We did the dessert party in July- loved it! We had spent the morning in EPCOT and headed over to MK around 5 or 6.

The bus ride to MK is 15 minutes, plus any wait you have for the bus.

It is tough for others to decide if it is worth it for your family to go just for the party.

I don't know what the situation is with fireworks from the Poly beach during the construction. I suspect the views are limited.

Would you mind posting these to the BC Room Views thread (or give me permission to do that). I know you have some view pictures from a villa posted on that thread.

Thanks, again!

Dee, will post the pictures for you on the view thread.

Just finished posting them for you. You have my permission to use any of my pictures that you would like whenever you want!

What is the #1 place to go to for an great dinner?

I have never had a problem getting the things I wanted to do or dinning. The times for dinning are sometimes not the exact time I request, but are close enough that it doesn't really matter. I've had them book Food and Wine events and have always gotten what I wanted and they have emailed the itinerary right away. The only thing they requested of me was to call them with the credit card info as they don't take that over the internet. If you have a Chase Visa, Annual Pass, DVC or any thing else that might get you a discount on tours you just tell them what you have and they use the one that gets you the bigger discount for tours.

As far as the #1 place to go for dinner that would probably be a personal choice... I love Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, but there are a lot of great places inside Epcot and sooo many choices at other resorts. My favorite is California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, and in Downtown Disney my absolute have to eat there multiple times when I'm at Disney is Bongo's :) LOVE that place!! My advice would be read the menu's and then ask here and guaranteed someone will have feedback on it!

Good Luck and happy planning!!

Will be staying at the YC in January for Marathon Weekend '15 and can't wait!! Was there 10 years ago and loved it. Question- I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease and need to eat gluten free. I know many places around WDW are very helpful with this. Does anyone know of any options within the resort that are gluten free? Thanks. :)
yes!!! You'll be safer with table service over counter service. When you make your ADRs note the allergy. The chef should come visit you before you order to discuss your needs. One note: when they designed the BOG kitchen they did so with food allergies in mind. It's a super safe restaurant. But overall, WDW table service is terrific with food allergies (and celiac, etc.).

This is not resort-specific, but there are a couple of "Gluten-Free at Disney" Facebook groups. Here is one started by someone I know from here on the DIS:

https://www.facebook.com/disneyglutenfreedining

Two of the things they mention from Beaches & Cream are a gluten free grilled cheese and a veggie burger, both with fries.

Hi again... tying up some loose ends before the weekend is over! I am responding to the concierge email and they had asked about requests. We prefer a balcony and a room that is not on the first floor. Are the CL rooms upper floors (so that I don't waste that request)? Also, is there anything in particular you recommend asking for in a standard view? We've never been in a CL room before so I have no idea what to expect. I did look at the room view thread and I thought it would be weird to request a specific room (and not likely to have that request fulfilled) but could I ask not to be put in room 5238? yikes!

Finally, is there such thing as a YC CL room closer to Epcot AND the Regatta Club?

Thanks so much, I really appreciate any insight you may have.
