Dee - we changed again! We are now at YC GV August 17-20 (had to be there for the Dis Meet!) AND GF GV August 20-27!

Scott or Nettie - I know you are doing a split stay too - are you able to do everything on the one MB? Hotel reservations and FP +?

You'll get two sets of magic bands but they are interchangeable. The FP+ is tied to your tickets so make sure they are linked in MDE. You can wear the same set the whole time if you want. Just make sure you use it to enter your room and I'm told you won't have a problem.

I think this is the same for all WDW hotels.. But how do connecting rooms work? My TA linked our reservation and requested it.. Not sure how many there are.

Seems like every time we stay in a hotel, there is a connecting door.. But my luck, this time I wont

This is not resort-specific, but there are a couple of "Gluten-Free at Disney" Facebook groups. Here is one started by someone I know from here on the DIS:

https://www.facebook.com/disneyglutenfreedining

Two of the things they mention from Beaches & Cream are a gluten free grilled cheese and a veggie burger, both with fries.

This is great to know! It's amazing how much is available...so accommodating.

All regular club level rooms (that is, not deluxe or suites) are on the 5th floor, so you are all set.

You should have a room with a balcony at the YC.

I think rooms near the lounge, are near the elevator, so therefore near the lobby and thus about as close as you get to EPCOT. But I have never stayed at YC, I am just guessing on this.

You could try asking not to be put in a particular room. Couldn't hurt. That's better and easier to accommodate than asking to be put in a specific room.

:goodvibes

Thanks yet again for your useful advice!!! :o)

We have stayed at a BCV 2-bedroom in the past, but this trip we are only taking 2 teens with us so we are trying a BCV 1-bedroom. Age old question- what is the best way to make a 2nd bed in the living room? Do we have to take an air mattress? I remember the size of the LR so I understand the limited space, but these guys are 6'2 and 6'3 so sharing a sofa sleeper isn't the answer for them.

I assume there are no rollaways.

We stayed at OKW last time so they could use the 2 sleepers in the LR, but I was able to get an RCI exchange into BCV so I don't have the option to change resorts.

I have one in every color now and 2 orange ones!! I do just that... color coordinate!!

Well aren't you the little fashionista? :worship:

So, to put it plainly, if everyone in 1 family, staying in the same room has charging priveleges, all the magic bands are interchangeable? We can trade colors?
Technically you could, but not really for entry, as they are your admission too. So, just collect them for future trips, and eventually you'll have enough!

It's not guaranteed, but connecting will have a door allowing passage through 2 rooms. Adjoining rooms (or what they call "close by") may just be next door or across the hall.

Hi everyone! Well we are at the airport waiting to head home. We had a short but fabulous time at the YC. We really enjoyed hitting the parks early then spending the afternoons at the pool and back to EPcot at night. We found the wait times to be very short except for the big headliners. Our MBs worked great and I loved the memory maker and being able to have the PP photographers scan our bands. Worked great!
I also got to spend some good time with our famous Teena. She enlightened me on the AP and guess who is the proud new owner of a AP Teena?!!!! :-). Can't wait to see you again in February.
Once again the CL works so well for my family. I found the offerings to be fantastic. And oh my goodness.... Oreo Bonbons.... Wow. Make sure you stay over on a Saturday night because those are awesome.
Thanks so much for listening and I can't wait to live through your trips coming up.
:-)

So glad you got the AP. After we did the math, it just made sense. Congrats!!!!!! I really enjoyed spending time with you and look forward to seeing you in February!

We have stayed in the one bedroom BCV with our two daughters. The pullout bed in the living room is a queen so it was plenty big for the two of them, but they are not 6'2 or 6'3 (What are you feeding them? :) ) You are correct in assuming no rollaways are available in BCV, so it looks like an air mattress would be the best solution.

Glad to hear this, I've been debating back and forth on doing CL at YC or not. Sometimes they say it's not so great :( but I soooo want to think it will be. (unfortunately we would not hit it on a Sat night ! but.....)

I'm leaning towards going CL (its avail. with the discount on our trip). It's nice to hear some current insight as some that is available is older.

We really enjoyed it and usually only had one sit down meal a day. Breakfast is so convenient I thought great selections for what we like. Cereal, pastries, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal.
For us the convenience of it makes it worth it. :-)

Yah, that's pretty much what we would do too. And then just get whatever other food, wherever, as we needed it. I have a teen and a preteen boy, so just being able to go in and get a snack here and there is good. Plus, we are on the 2nd leg of a split stay and they want to spend some time at Storm a long, so we're not really going park commando at this time and more relaxing around the resort and epcot, and things and just generally whatever.

Hi everyone !

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello now that I've booked 15 nights at the Yacht Club for next June for myself, my wife and my 6 year old son (he'll be 7 when we visit).

We only get to WDW every 2 or 3 years so like to be sure we enjoy everything !

Looking forward to reading everyone's advice and experiences.

Cheers !

J

Fantastic! Gives you and your family plenty of time to enjoy everything and still have time to relax, maybe even take a nap now and then. :cool1:

Would it be worth it to leave the Beach Club and WDW to drive to the ocean for a day and drive back. Or will my kids not want to leave the pool just to see the ocean?

Woo! So it's similar to us! We are YC 8/17-8/23 and GF 8/23-8/25!
I'm still not truly sure about how this is all going to work as far as bands.

We seem to have 4 sets of bands coming our way. One set for BC, one set for YC, one set for GF, and one set for being AP holders. Eeek. It's a lot to juggle. And as I look at it...it's more to possibly loose. I may just bring one. It's just easier.
