No power since yesterday. They are telling me it could be Sunday before my power is restored. Thinking about going to a hotel. Florida looks better every day.

So glad to hear from you - I was worried.

Go to the hotel! We were without power for three days during Sandy and it is no fun! We have over a foot of snow here, but this time, thankfully, we didn't lose power.

Right there with you - Summer can't come soon enough!

Well thank you. After 12+ trips over the years, it will seem so strange it being just DH and me. We did give her the option of going over Christmas break, but she's actually going in May with her BFF so she thought it best that she work over Christmas break. And, we are already planning a trip for January 2015 which will include her as well as our older DD, DSIL and 2 DGS. Hopefully also my parents. But anyway, I think DH and I are actually feeling worse about it than her. Not that we aren't looking forward to it (or we wouldn't be going), but it will definitely be a new and different experience. I just thought it would be fun to send her a small package every day. She'll know we're thinking of her and I so enjoy spoiling her. Sorry this was so long. We're eight days out so I've pretty much entered the giddy stage!

Lol!!! Started making a couple of phone calls about going to Florida for the weekend and the power came back on!!!!!!! Someone must have known I was serious.

Paid off our trip today It feels so good to have that done. Now to work on airfare ! Hope everyone is staying safe and warm with all the ice and snow storms. They closed schools and sent our kids home early in the anticipation of snow here in Kentucky . We have had 11 snow days and 2 early dismissals so far this school year.

Everybody is so sweet ... spoiling me and Jeanne and Lily and even Bob.

And your support is so wonderful.

Just returned from the Lung doctor (specialist). Absolutely loved him and feel I'm in great hands. Unfortunately not the best results. I have COPD and probably have for quite a while. Obviously there is no cure but he really feels he can get it under control and assured me if I do what he says, I'll be around for a long time. He said I have to stay away from sick people as much as possible. I laughed and said, "I work at Disney and do volunteer work at an elementary school." He said, "Well, don't hug and kiss sick people ... but you have to keep living your life." He's got me started on some things to get my current situation under control and then meds to take to keep me under control (twice daily forever).

He said I can go to Jeanne's on Wednesday and loaded me down with meds "just in case I flair up while there". Hopefully I won't have to use them.

I have some lung tests when I return down in Davenport.

I'm scared but feel with this new doctor things will be ok.

Sending lots of at least you have way better weather than we have here in the UK so you should feel better real soon xx

If we have snow days here in the UK the time is not made up. I really feel we should have the same system as in the US.

I don't know if anyone gets to see an news from the UK but at the moment the south of the country is suffering badly with floods. There are 1,000s of families who are suffering, with there houses badly affected. Entire villages are flooded. In some areas it is upto 6 foot.

Teena, I'm sorry about the diagnosis. I have no experience with COPD, but at least offer virtual and germ-free hugs and sympathy.

At this point, my kids will be halfway to July before they get done with school. I'm hoping the major snow is done for now (supposed to get more tonight, but just a few inches). I'm really glad I went with an end-of-summer trip this time around. It will be hot, but at least I won't have to cancel because they're still in school. And the school calendar came out for next year and our dates are in the clear. So at least I can dream of the warmth while I look out at the mass of snow covering our kids play set.

Thank you for the hugs and sympathy. I'm doing much better today. Had a bit of a pity party yesterday but today am feeling very optimistic. Can't wait to get out to Jeanne's. Being with my two girls for two weeks will be great medicine.

Hang in there. I just saw the pile up in PA on the turnpike on Fox News. Wow. Have to say I'm glad we aren't there in PA anymore!

Excited for our first trip to BC April 29-May 8! Have a garden view room booked. We stayed at POR the past couple of years (which we loved), but wanted to try something different this year. I'm sure our kids (DS 5 and DD 3) will love the pool! Can't wait!

@ Cathy- we got about 8 inches of snow yesterday- no school. 2 hour delay today. They are calling for more tomorrow night, but hopefully we will be long out of Dodge by then! More on Tuesday, too!

We had our 5th snow day yesterday, and we were just put under a blizzard watch for the next 24 hours or so. To top it all off, our ceiling just started leaking, and the management company seems to have gone AWOL. Sheesh. Be safe all! Now onto a quick question... We have 3 separate reservations for this summer BC, YC, then GF, all in a row. Our ADR window for our BC opens tonight T midnight. We can make ADRs for the whole trip at that point...right? Hey Scott! Hope your ceiling gets fixed!! I know CRT is still very hard to get (I tried for our Oct trip like crazy). Maybe with BOG also being so coveted that might make it a little easier.
Not sure on your others questions though.
When are y'all going this summer? Sounds fun!

When we found out that Jammin Jungle parade will not be running in July when we go, we decided to change that evening in our plans to a MK night... even though we knew it will be busy because of PM EMH and its a Sunday - so we went in this morning and was able to pick from a bunch of CRT times for dinner that night!! Our ADR window was a couple weeks ago - so it seems that it isn't as hard as it once was! Now, that was a dinner but I was also able to find a breakfast for the day too! Good luck!

I have a quick question about the Sandcastle Club - is this something that books up quickly or will we be able to book it for our DD3 once we are there in July?

I have been doing trial runs booking ADRs building up to the big day this coming Thursday. I've found that just about everywhere has availability. Don't know if it is due to more restaurants, the $10 reservation for each booking, lack of free dining offers in the US market or a lack of bookings at Disney. I was very surprised to see loads of openings for CRT the beginning of August.

Just checked and there is loads of availability for 14 August for breakfast at CRT, booking has been open for 4hours now and some people would have been able to book 10 days ago.

We will be at BC from Aug 15-17, then YC-CL from Aug 17-23 and will finish off at the GF from Aug 23-25. Then I start school again (teacher, not student ) on the 26th. Can't wait!

I know nothing about Sandcastle Club, but thanks for the CRT info. We're hoping to get one of the last seatings for breakfast. We want to hit the big rides, then have breakfast, and then go back to SAB right afterward!

You're so good with the trial runs! We will be snowed in tonight (stupid blizzard), and will be up and poised to go at 11:59 P.M. CRT is the only hot-ticket ADR we are looking for, so once we get that, the others should be fine (though sometimes Coral Reef can be tough to get). Tomorrow I will post the ADRs we got for y'all.
