Just back from Yacht Club CL. Sorry I missed the apps last night, sounded like the best of the week.

Our first room was 5238 - only 2 rooms are farther from the elevators/lounge and is a contender for worst view on property (I have pictures to prove it). We had requested a room close to the elevator, so they told us we could move the next morning.

We got room 5168 - 1st room next to the lounge. Only problem was the noise of people coming and going, but it was never at a time that bothered us. Breakfast was more than enough for me, the cookies and trail mix were okay, the evening selections were not necessarily to my liking but that wasn't a big deal. I had plenty of Sam Adams and Yuengling to keep me distracted

I thought I would prefer Yacht over Beach, but mainly due to a huge convention creating massive blockage and noise in the lobby every evening, and secondly since it is due for refurbishment, I wish I had stayed at BC. The CL staff was wonderful and got us beer and water at off times. The concierge staff was 3 very good and 1 we tried to avoid. Let's just say this one didn't have a Disney personality almost to the point of rudeness.

Any chance you can share the view pictures, for both rooms, either here or on the view thread? I want to see the good, the bad and the ugly. Sorry you had a cruddy view to start out!

Hello my BC/YC friends!

I haven't been on in ages but had a second today to jump on and say hello, so HELLO!!!

I want to wish all of you a wonderful 2014 and I am looking forward to spending more time on here and counting the days until our August 20th trip!

We also booked through *** and we have a SV room. I requested ground floor with a patio, is that a possibility? If not then 2nd floor full balcony would be my next request.Our dates are 8/27-9/7. I was under the impression we couldn't upgrade to GV if booking through ***? What are my chances if ground floor patio? We will have a stroller and the last 2 times we stayed at the Poly we have had ground floor and liked it. Thx!

It never hurts to ask at the front desk if you can PAY for a garden view. The worse thing that can happen is they say no.

Not many standard view rooms on the first floor. Most are garden view. Standard view rooms view a parking lot or roof and obviously there aren't any roof views on the first floor and I can't for the life of me picture any parking lot views so there might not be any at all on the first floor.

We had a super time despite the weather at the Cabins!!! One of the things Bob liked the most was getting coffee with his refillable mug. All the resorts we visited (including the BC) had Joffrey's coffee now instead of Nescafe and he loved loved loved the coffee!!!!

I had the most amazing lunch at the pool QS restaurant at the Cabins when we got there. It was a hotdog and it was covered with mac and cheese and smashed bacon bits and homemade potato chips. Wish I had another one right now!!!

Kerry.... do us all a favor and steal those machines! I would take them out the secret entrance and bury them in the side yard. NO ONE will miss them so this is totally do-able!

We were upgraded to garden view (at least I think we were) with the *** LD deal last year. We didn't ask for an upgrade and weren't told we got one, but we looked over a garden at the YC.

Thanks for the info on the coffee machines in the lounge. :/ I wish the Epcot resorts would get them.

Checked the apps tonight, but didn't eat as we had dinner plans. They had chicken and roasted tomato bisque. The desserts are really pitiful. We are enjoying our stay despite the cool rainy weather.

Any other questions, just let me know. My try hijacking the coffee machine tonight! You will all need to chip in on my bail!

Woohooo I LOVE when a Disney Vacation starts taking form!!! Just ordered the DVC special Premium Annual Passes for the upcoming November retirement trip... Funny how it took me years before I got my first annual pass... and my DH gets his first after only his first trip

Today I played with the spreadsheet figured out which tours we would do while at YC/cl and which ones we will do while at AKL/cl. Figured out some of the restaurants we will be eating at! Just need for March 31st to get here so I can see if we'll be staying 2 nights at BLT (7month window)... or if I need to come up with another plan. I decided arrival night would be at the Waldorf (special deal) since I am of the mind set that you can't arrive at a Disney hotel in the evening because to me it's a waste of a day.. must arrive first thing in the morning, and the plane doesn't land until 6ish pm Can't wait!!!

Doesn't matter how many trips I go on each one is soooo exciting to plan!
Ok all done.... just had to share with those I know will understand!!

Thanks for letting us know. Do you know if it is just the YC quiet pool or all 3 of them? I know it is not as convenient, but perhaps one of the others would give you the atmosphere you are looking for.

I have tried Sangria in other locations and it not even close to the same I once ordered it from the Boardwalk Pizza window and it was poured out of a single serve bottle

I'm a sangria junkie! Besides Via Napoli I recommend Kouzzina, Spice Road Table, and Tutto Italia.

Thanks for the information. I think we can add the sangria at the Territory Lounge at WL to the list of places that don't measure up to Via Napoli.

Those cabins look like a really nice place to stay. We love walking through Fort Wilderness.

This winter has been really cold and very snowy here. The snow is almost at record levels for us, and the mounds of snow are starting to get so high that it is hard to see oncoming traffic. Our trip to the BC next month can't come soon enough. We are starting to get very excited about it.

Other pools are open, its a hike tho to the BC quiet pool from where our room is. Weather is not exactly cooperating tho so we're not missing much...lol

Only the YC quiet pool is being renovated and I doubt anybody will miss it with the weather we are having. I forget what the sun looks like. Bob said to me yesterday, "Let's move to Florida ... I need sun!" LOL

Worse winter in the ten years we have been here. I can take the cold, but no sun is horrible!!

It could be worse I know ... at least there is no snow and ice. But I need the sun to heal me. I've been suffering from sinus/bronchitis since December 26th. My doctor gave up and has me going to a lung specialist on Thursday. Not sure I'm going to make it to work tomorrow and Monday ... cough is so bad my ribs and head hurts from all the coughing.

Hopefully the dry sunny weather in the desert at Jeanne's will fix me up. Hurry up 2/19!!!

Bottled water was available again this morning. Tonight the apps were spanikopa and braised short ribs with mushrooms and onions. The suits were all up there asking opinions and the chefs were there as well. Jim ate his share of the meat. Weather is cool and sprinkling today. Nice walking around Epcot though. Lunch was delicious as always. We both had the chicken pram, first time for me, and loved it. Lobster roll at BW for dinner. Breakfast at Cape May in the morning and off to the MK after that. Oh, Dee, the apps were labeled tonight.

Yea me!!! I took a peek at availability last night, and was able to upgrade to CL with a FL resident discount! I've decided not to tell the family and let it be a surprise. We did it once before, and really enjoyed the ability to pop into the "snack room" as the kids called it. DH wasn't impressed at first, until the first afternoon when he woke from his nap and I handed him a beer lol! He had better appreciation for it then, and the pre-dinner shrimp/scallop something (forget exactly what it was) really sealed the deal. I forgot to share my dates...March 21-23. A short trip I know, but we always enjoy every minute of it.
