Yes!! Let them wait on the long lines!! In August!!Serves them right!! :lmao:
Oh No, no, no, no, no!!

The AUGUST trip is at the Beach Club! That is the Ninja Mom family only trip. If I didn't birth you or marry you then you are not allowed to come... and even then I'm not so sure I want to go to WDW with you if I am staying at The BC.

This Family trip is happening this Saturday. I just found out that they are debuting the Festival of Fantasy Parade on the day that I have to leave, so I will miss it. The only thing saving my sanity (If I was in fact considered to BE sane) is that I will be back in August to see it.

They better start cracking the whip with that Mine Train construction too! It's taking so long you'd think "Surley", "Clumsy", "Dropsy", "Slipsy" "Palsy", "Tripsy" and "Lazy" were building it.

There are rooms just down the hall from the lounge at YC that look over the front and back entrances of the resort. These rooms are extremely convenient to the lounge and the lounge is only steps from the elevator much like BC CL. The resorts are basically mirror images of each other. Think of BC and flip it over the other way. The lounge itself is set up a little differently but very similarly.
Oh awesome YCFan. That's helps a bunch! :-)

Hey NM….To kind of piggyback off the Food Pornagrapher, I represent the Room Pornagrapher.

I make my family wait in the hall when we check in so I can get pictures of the room before we destroy it. I do not understand their :furious: angst :furious:as they stand it the hall with their suitcases while I carefully CSI our home for the next week.

Come on people. This room may never look like this again!
Just thinking I should photograph the room before entry so that my darling family can remember what tidy looks like lol:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Hahahaha! I threatened to photograph my ten-year-old daughter's food and she begged me not to. She thinks the food porn on the dis is just the weirdest thing ever.
:rotfl::rotfl:

And to tag onto Ninja Mom's amazing post, I would like to offer the EMO TWEEN.

Emo Tween is a complicated creature. She might simply pretend she's not related to that family singing in the Carousel of Progress (after bursting into tears when asked if she really did brush her hair that morning). But she might stomp away dramatically in Frontierland, declaring it's been her life long dream to ride Thunder Mountain with her younger sister, but since she's too scared to ride, everyone might as well just watch the Country Bear Jamboree all day long. For those who feel FP+ and 180 day ADRs have robbed your Disney vacation of any spontaneity, I highly recommend taking along Emo Tween. Because it is virtually impossible to predict what she will do from one minute to the next.
Definitely think someone somewhere needs to publish a guidebook with this growing list of travellers (and all the other useful "entertainment" ahem "information" provided by NinjaMom :lmao:

Hi I'm your long lost sister:wave2: Please let me come too, please, please please-I'll carry the mugs for the slushie sneaking exit from Epcot ;)

You're very welcome. IPO is the Itinerary Planning Office. If you are staying Club Level they will help you make reservations and help plan your trip. They can also help you get the VIP cleaning done. I'm pretty sure you said you're staying Club Level.
Ah..of course! I should have figured that one out. Yes, that would be the place to start. :)I've spoken to Zoila on the phone already about ADRs she is wonderful.

After many changes in planning and weather not cooperating, I think we are back to a YC/BC stay in September for F&W AND MNSSHP. Now the question is: do I choose YC club level or BC club level? I don't want to be in the middle of a BC refurb if they haven't finished...
    :welcome:

I'll tentatively add you to the Be Our Guest list.

    :cool1:

As others have mentioned, since we don't know exactly when the BC CL renovation will start, or how long it will take, your best bet would be to book YC CL if you want to avoid being there during a refurb.

Hi! :wave2: Could you please add us to the Be our Guest list. Me, and my dd will be at the BC Aug. 17-26. I will be celebrating the big 3-0!:scared: Thanks I look forward to all the info I will learn on this thread.:goodvibes
    Will do!

    :woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi everyone! So I think **fingers crossed** that I might have talked DH into a trip back to the world in late April !!! Woohoo! BC CLis booked but YC CL is available. Does the lounge at the YC have rooms close to it? Our BC CL room was right beside the lounge and we loved that! Can't figure out the layout. Also, the YC isn't undergoing renovations after BC correct?

    Thanks! :-)
    THAT IS AWESOME NEWS!!!

Let us know if we can do anything to help you convince him that this is the right thing to do!!!

Thankfully, others have given some input about the YC lounge since I have not been there.

I stayed one day at the BC last year and fell in love with it. Now I just booked a two day stay which will be DH first time staying there and we are excited!!!!

If there is one thing you guys come recommend we do what would it be?

I hope to meet you in May Teena!
    :welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list

    :yay:

Since Stormalong Bay is one of the feature attractions of the resort, I'll suggest spending some time floating around the lazy river and making a couple of runs down the Jib slide.

OMG NM, that list of Disney people had me in stitches. You nailed it!!!
Love your posts. They make me smile. Even on the day I'm flying home to the freezing tundra from sunny warm Florida. :(

I also wanted to say that I read a lot on this board w out posting much, but everyone here is so great and helpful.( and fun too) Even if I'm not staying at the Y/BC I would definitely come here if I needed something.
We haven't stayed at the BC since 2010. :(
If we could it would be our first choice. I asked DH the other day if you could stay on property again where would you stay again? He said the BC!! ( we have only stayed at the BC, Poly, GF, and CBR)

And Dee, you do such a fantastic job!!! ;)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
    Thank you!

I *think* the layout of YC CL is very similar to that of BC CL. Experts like YC fan can chime in more. As far as renovations, yes, I think YC is due for renovations AFTER BC, so you shouldn't run into any issues in April, as BC is not starting until at least summer.

And on the renovations note...our 2 beloved resorts are due for refurbs in the next year or so. Let's pray they don't use the same designer they've used to refurb the rooms at the GF. There are some pics on the GF FAQ....and let me tell you, they look like your average Hilton or Sheraton. The Disney magic is gone. Don't get me wrong..they're lovely, but there's no theming anymore. So again, let's pray that they don't let the same designer get his/her hands on our beloved YC/BC!
I have stayed both YC CL and BC CL and we much preferred the club at YC. YC lounge is bigger, I felt it was better staffed and not near as crowded. the choice of rooms in the GARDEN category was an issue for me at BC CL GV. Some rooms connect and one is a handicapped room. There isn't very many choices to move if not satisfied at BC CL GV. However I will say this, every room in the BC CL GV has a balcony this is not true at BC CL SV or BC CL WV. I just could hear noise so clearly thru the connecting door and the neighbors were NOT loud..I could just hear conversation and that bothered me...Balcony issue is a big del to me and I would be disappointed without a full one so YC wins hands down right there....

Hopefully the upgrade to the lounge at the BC will take care of part of this but I'm pretty sure the balcony thing will always be.

These great observations should not be lost to posterity, so I will put a link to this post in the "Trip Report Review" Post on Page 2 of this thread.

    :rotfl2:

Here is the list of the types of people you go to Disney with:

The Commando: Has all the ADR's and FP+ worked out. Knows the exact spot to run to as soon as the park opens. Follow this person and you will have rode ALL the headliners by 11:30am and everyone in the traveling party will still want to kill her/him.

The Deer in the Headlights: This person just thought they were going to an amusement park. They had no idea that the Commando would go all Defcon 1 on them and insist they schedule their potty breaks so as not to interrupt the rhythm of the trip. This person will frequently fake their own death by day 3 to avoid continuing on the trip.

The table service, 3 meals a day, Dining genius: This person purchases the DELUXE Disney dining plan and actually schedules 3 sit down meals every day. By day two they realize that all their Disney parks time is being spent in restaurants and they don't feel well enough ride the rides anyway because they are going to explode!

The unwilling spouse: This person would really rather just sit on a beach somewhere and get drunk. They hate their spouse because they have to actually do things like walk 8 miles a day and swim in a sea of people as opposed to a sea of fish. By day three this person is frequently left unresponsive in the bed, refusing to get up when it is time to make that 7:45 ADR for breakfast that the dining genius planned.

The disconnected teenager: OMG they are so NOT near their FRIENDS! They spend all their time texting to the 856 BFF's they left at home. Being in an amusement park is the worst thing EVER!!!!1!! They frequently order the same exact food at every meal thus disrupting the nutritional balance that their parents seek for them.

Grand PA/MA: They thought it would be a great idea to take the kids to Disney! Some Grands may have even gotten roped into paying for the trip, failing to realize that by doing so they will have depleted their savings and they will never be able to pay for a set of replacement teeth ever again. They go on a couple of rides during the first day but them someone takes them on Space Mountain and scares the BeJesus out of them. They retreat to the safety of the 3 benches that are left in Disney parks, never to get up again.

The 'This is too much work Drama Queen': Often the first to visit the Urgent Care Center, this person gets a doctor's note so that they may stay in the hotel room for the rest of the vacation, there by running up the room service bill because they are so infirm they cannot rise out of bed. They secretly sneak down to the pool when every one else is at the parks. The inevitable tell tale sunburn gives them away.

The "I am off of my schedule cranky toddler": Everyone thought it was cute that "Little baby cries a lot" was up late last night for the fireworks. Baby didn't take a nap either. Now Satan is living in the body of this child and he/she is screaming so loudly and continuously that the authorities have been called to investigate.

The "Wait for me because I am on vacation and I can't keep the schedule person": This person received copies of the schedule in triplicate from the trip commando but they still can't grasp the concept that no one wants to wait the 2 additional hours it will take them to FINALLY get up and start getting dressed. This is often the first person to be abandoned by the family (followed closely by Baby cries A LOT). They eventually make their way into the park by 11:30 and stand in line for two hours just to get into the ladies room. They then complain about how long the lines are at Disney and how it's too much trouble to go on any rides.

The "Wait for me while I go in this store person": This person is the Mortal Enemy of the Commando because they will never give up on actually coming to the parks but they will insist on stopping in EVERY store and closely examining every. single. item, thereby throwing off the touring plan. The fact that they are looking at the exact same crappy Disney merchandise in every store never seems to penetrate the vast emptiness of their cranial cavities.

The person who insists on coming with but refuses to go on any rides: Much like an anchor, you drag this person around the park while they hem and haw about not wanting to go on this or do that. Even the thought of sitting on a boat while singing dolls have rotational seizures is too much to handle, so they stalk the exterior of the ride while you go in and then give you the mighty guilty look for abandoning them when you finally return.

The "I just want to get a picture of this person": You walk 3 steps and they have to stop to take a picture. Even worse, they want YOU IN that picture. Due to their lack of technical expertise these blurry pictures live forever in their cell phones, never seeing the light of day because this person has no idea how to work the camera.

The character chaser: This person's main goal in life is to stand in every 12 hour character line they can find just so they can get an autograph from Donald's Uncle's cousin. This person frequently ropes the Grand Ma/Pa into standing in line for them but after the second or third 3 hour line Grand Pa/Ma wises up and pleads lumbago to get out of doing this.

The "I have to get another coffee/I have to go to the bathroom again person": This person will easily hit every 3rd bathroom in the parks, all the while complaining about how bad the coffee is. When they get to the point in the ride line where they have to ditch their cup, they chug the contents and then barely make it through the ride, telling you continuously about just how badly they HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW!!!.

The person who knows it better than you: This is the person who will insist that there is a monorail that runs to Universal from the Animal Kingdom and that Walt Disney's head is in an ice cream freezer under Cinderella's Castle. Family members wishing to spare themselves from the "Ken Jennings" of Walt Disney World encourage this font of knowledge to let a Cast Member know that interesting little tid bit he just spouted because they are undoubtedly in need of that "information".

The parents who Ignore/let everyone else watch their kids because THEY are on vacation: These are the people who think that just because it's the family vacation, everyone else will watch THEIR kids while they go enjoy themselves. When these absentee parents are on the prowl, hotel room doors are dead bolted and phones are disconnected so that their pleas of "Can you watch the kids" go unheard. Unfortunately, the Grand Ma/Pa are often the slowest and can not get away quickly enough and therefore are most likely caught up in this child care scam.

So that's the list of the family members you go on vacation to WDW with. There are undoubtedly more so feel free to add the ones you find yourself vacationing with.

    ~NM

    This one is for Dee!

The Food Pornographer: This person whips out their camera the moment the plate hits the table while simultaneously yelling at you NOT to TOUCH IT!!! Under their watchful eye your food is photographed repeatedly, from every conceivable angle and in the most unappetizing of ways. An hour later when they have finally finished 'getting the shot' your food is ice cold and moldy and you are extremely intoxicated from that seventh or eighth Lapu Lapu you downed while you were waiting for them to finish.

~A subset of the The Food Pornographer: is the "almost all eaten" Food Pornographer: This aspiring food pornographer is earnest in their attempts at wanting to photograph dishes but they never seem to be able to quite get it together in time to remember to photograph the food while it is still all there. Their food pictures frequently resemble homicide scenes and copies of their work are posted on car rental web sites to remind patrons not to drink and drive.

    ~NM

Oops~ I missed that Emo tween warning from Tarak...

    THAT was GOOooooOOOOoood.....

For Emo tweens I recommend yelling "LOOK!!, Over there!!! It's Mylie Bieber!!!" and then running off when they become distracted. You can probably pick them up at the lost and found on your way out.

I would agree. I would try it again with an upgraded lounge but the issue with both YC and BC when booking CL GV - there are 5 rooms YC and as many or few more with BC CL. So it is so hard to find a spot if you are not happy with a room (and in our case we had the handicapped room and the sinks were in the bathroom and really low water pressure b/c of hand held shower head).

    Hey guys, reassure me!

I know Beach Club is scheduled for a refurbishment and I know it won't be done by the time I'm there in October.

But the rooms now are still in pretty good condition right? I just think refurbishment and get panicked. :rotfl:

    Thanks!!

Yes they are and YES, it will be fine!

This isn't just you wondering about this. The internet is filled with people freaking out over problems that most likely won't even exist when they are actually at the resort. When we are at home we have the time to obsess over these things.

The bottom line is that IF you find the room is not to your liking you can go back to the front desk and let them know what you are thinking. They will do their best to help find a solution to your needs, whatever they may be. In the off chance that you find that your problem is not being addressed in an effective manner, REQUEST to speak with a MANAGER, who often has the experience to assist the CM in helping to find a solution to your problem.

Keep in mind that the staff at the resort can't read minds so be sure to talk to someone and let them know what the problem is.

Also, do not call on the telephone with resort concerns WHILE you are AT THE RESORT. These calls just go to a generic call center and your concern is placed at the back of a list. Tell the people who are on site and chances are, if it is possible, your concern will be dealt with more quickly.

You are going to have a great stay, so relax and get ready to have a blast at this resort!

Hi! Please add us to the Be Our Guest list again! YC wv club level May 4-8th for my birthday trip. Luckily we booked the bounceback when we were there for my DH's birthday in Jan.--- website hasn't shown any availability even @ rack rate for weeks. Originally we booked until the 10th, but decided to try 2 nights in the Garden Suites @ BWI. This will make 4 trips with our AP this year; Y&B really has become our home away from home! :cloud9:

:thumbsup2Thanks..very helpful....so I am assuming if the elevator is right there as wel,l it goes down into the lobby and straight out to SAB? Also, do you know anything about the balconies over the lobby in the front? They look to be pretty big and rounded. Is this true?:confused3
