Do you know if there is an extra charge for the VIP clean? And, do I call the front desk or housekeeping? We are staying CL at the BC.

There's no extra charge. Call the main reservations line and add the VIP cleaning request to your reservation. It wouldn't hurt to ask IPO to help make it happen before you arrive.

Hi! :wave2: Could you please add us to the Be our Guest list. Me, and my dd will be at the BC Aug. 17-26. I will be celebrating the big 3-0!:scared: Thanks I look forward to all the info I will learn on this thread.:goodvibes

Missed this post yesterday!

My 6 past trips to Florida have been in the summer (June, July and August). The trick is to get to the parks early- we like the extra magic hour. You can take an afternoon break if you need to and enjoy the pool, then back to the parks again at night.

Let us know when you book!

:cool1:

Thanks!! Wouldn't you know that ticket prices went up the day we decide to take the plunge haha oh well it's worth it! I'll let you know when our plans are finalized. It's nice to see you again and recognize a few other familiar faces :)

Anyone- do you need ADR's for Crew's Cup?

No ADRs needed and to answer your first question.....at one time they had limited items from YSH available but I do not believe they do that anymore. They have their own menu. More bar food items than meals. It never hurts to ask though.

I'm not sure on the charge yet. I think we just call the resort. I plan on calling in April so I will let everyone know.

:flower3: Thanks. I'm really interested in seeing how that goes for you. Our trip isn't until July so please let me if it helps.

NateBenMa also said something interesting about "Epcot Rash". C.Ann mentions in her post #10 on 12/09/09 "something about there being very small pieces of glass mixed in with the pavement ingredients and when mixed with the sun reflecting up from it the end result was this "rash" occurring on peoples legs..:confused3

dansdad - Thanks for your advice. I will add it to my reservation... I feel silly asking...but what's IPO? I just can't figure that one out:sad2:

Yes but while you will be foot loose and fancy free I will be chained to the family! Here is the list of the types of people you go to Disney with: The Commando: Has all the ADR's and FP+ worked out. Knows the exact spot to run to as soon as the park opens. Follow this person and you will have rode ALL the headliners by 11:30am and everyone in the traveling party will still want to kill her/him. The Deer in the Headlights: This person just thought they were going to an amusement park. They had no idea that the Commando would go all Defcon 1 on them and insist they schedule their potty breaks so as not to interrupt the rhythm of the trip. This person will frequently fake their own death by day 3 to avoid continuing on the trip. The table service, 3 meals a day, Dining genius: This person purchases the DELUXE Disney dining plan and actually schedules 3 sit down meals every day. By day two they realize that all their Disney parks time is being spent in restaurants and they don't feel well enough ride the rides anyway because they are going to explode! The unwilling spouse: This person would really rather just sit on a beach somewhere and get drunk. They hate their spouse because they have to actually do things like walk 8 miles a day and swim in a sea of people as opposed to a sea of fish. By day three this person is frequently left unresponsive in the bed, refusing to get up when it is time to make that 7:45 ADR for breakfast that the dining genius planned. The disconnected teenager: OMG they are so NOT near their FRIENDS! They spend all their time texting to the 856 BFF's they left at home. Being in an amusement park is the worst thing EVER!!!!1!! They frequently order the same exact food at every meal thus disrupting the nutritional balance that their parents seek for them. Grand PA/MA: They thought it would be a great idea to take the kids to Disney! Some Grands may have even gotten roped into paying for the trip, failing to realize that by doing so they will have depleted their savings and they will never be able to pay for a set of replacement teeth ever again. They go on a couple of rides during the first day but them someone takes them on Space Mountain and scares the BeJesus out of them. They retreat to the safety of the 3 benches that are left in Disney parks, never to get up again. The 'This is too much work Drama Queen': Often the first to visit the Urgent Care Center, this person gets a doctor's note so that they may stay in the hotel room for the rest of the vacation, there by running up the room service bill because they are so infirm they cannot rise out of bed. They secretly sneak down to the pool when every one else is at the parks. The inevitable tell tale sunburn gives them away. The "I am off of my schedule cranky toddler": Everyone thought it was cute that "Little baby cries a lot" was up late last night for the fireworks. Baby didn't take a nap either. Now Satan is living in the body of this child and he/she is screaming so loudly and continuously that the authorities have been called to investigate. The "Wait for me because I am on vacation and I can't keep the schedule person": This person received copies of the schedule in triplicate from the trip commando but they still can't grasp the concept that no one wants to wait the 2 additional hours it will take them to FINALLY get up and start getting dressed. This is often the first person to be abandoned by the family (followed closely by Baby cries A LOT). They eventually make their way into the park by 11:30 and stand in line for two hours just to get into the ladies room. They then complain about how long the lines are at Disney and how it's too much trouble to go on any rides. The "Wait for me while I go in this store person": This person is the Mortal Enemy of the Commando because they will never give up on actually coming to the parks but they will insist on stopping in EVERY store and closely examining every. single. item, thereby throwing off the touring plan. The fact that they are looking at the exact same crappy Disney merchandise in every store never seems to penetrate the vast emptiness of their cranial cavities. The person who insists on coming with but refuses to go on any rides: Much like an anchor, you drag this person around the park while they hem and haw about not wanting to go on this or do that. Even the thought of sitting on a boat while singing dolls have rotational seizures is too much to handle, so they stalk the exterior of the ride while you go in and then give you the mighty guilty look for abandoning them when you finally return. The "I just want to get a picture of this person": You walk 3 steps and they have to stop to take a picture. Even worse, they want YOU IN that picture. Due to their lack of technical expertise these blurry pictures live forever in their cell phones, never seeing the light of day because this person has no idea how to work the camera. The character chaser: This person's main goal in life is to stand in every 12 hour character line they can find just so they can get an autograph from Donald's Uncle's cousin. This person frequently ropes the Grand Ma/Pa into standing in line for them but after the second or third 3 hour line Grand Pa/Ma wises up and pleads lumbago to get out of doing this. The "I have to get another coffee/I have to go to the bathroom again person": This person will easily hit every 3rd bathroom in the parks, all the while complaining about how bad the coffee is. When they get to the point in the ride line where they have to ditch their cup, they chug the contents and then barely make it through the ride, telling you continuously about just how badly they HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW!!!. The person who knows it better than you: This is the person who will insist that there is a monorail that runs to Universal from the Animal Kingdom and that Walt Disney's head is in an ice cream freezer under Cinderella's Castle. Family members wishing to spare themselves from the "Ken Jennings" of Walt Disney World encourage this font of knowledge to let a Cast Member know that interesting little tid bit he just spouted because they are undoubtedly in need of that "information". The parents who Ignore/let everyone else watch their kids because THEY are on vacation: These are the people who think that just because it's the family vacation, everyone else will watch THEIR kids while they go enjoy themselves. When these absentee parents are on the prowl, hotel room doors are dead bolted and phones are disconnected so that their pleas of "Can you watch the kids" go unheard. Unfortunately, the Grand Ma/Pa are often the slowest and can not get away quickly enough and therefore are most likely caught up in this child care scam. So that's the list of the family members you go on vacation to WDW with. There are undoubtedly more so feel free to add the ones you find yourself vacationing with. ~NM

NM I love this!!!!!!!! You made my night!!!!

I'm baaaaccckkkk!!! We had a fantastic time in Mexico! Great weather- there was a one minute threat of rain one day with a couple of sprinkles, but that was it. Thanks, my friend, for keeping the Be Our Guest list. You can send it along to me anytime and consider yourself off duty! :goodvibes I certainly do have some stories- Missing Reservation Getting attacked multiple times by a Ninja Turtle Adventures in Local Transportation Two kids throwing up, at separate times (but it really wasn't that bad) 15 year old served alcohol twice, 12 year old served once (not related to above incidents, and all situations reported to us by the boys) And, of course, LOTS of food porn! Still uploading pictures from 5 separate memory cards from 4 cameras, so once I have my thoughts and photos organized, I'll share a bit with everyone.   Thanks so much for your kind words. Nope, not an employee. This a volunteer gig! I would love to meet all of the friends I have met here! Teena, who is also a regular on this thread IS a Disney employee- she works part-time as a greeter at the Beach Club although her helpful posts are her own "civilian" opinions, not responses as an employee. She mostly works on Sundays and Mondays when she is not visiting her daughter and granddaughter in Vegas, or traveling with her husband Bob. If she is working during your trip, don't miss the opportunity to meet her in the lobby. ETA: I see Mickey & Minnie Mom gave you essentially the same answer I just did!

Welcome back!!!!! So glad you had a great trip! Cannot wait to hear more. Lol

You're very welcome. IPO is the Itinerary Planning Office. If you are staying Club Level they will help you make reservations and help plan your trip. They can also help you get the VIP cleaning done. I'm pretty sure you said you're staying Club Level.

Hi everyone! So I think **fingers crossed** that I might have talked DH into a trip back to the world in late April !!! Woohoo! BC CLis booked but YC CL is available. Does the lounge at the YC have rooms close to it? Our BC CL room was right beside the lounge and we loved that! Can't figure out the layout. Also, the YC isn't undergoing renovations after BC correct?

Thanks! :-)

To everybody who has posted about sensitive skin, rashes and allergies (I'm too lazy to go back and find the posts so that I can quote you) --

One time my legs got an itchy rash at Disney World, and I attributed it to sitting on the sidewalk, wearing shorts, waiting for the parade. The sidewalk had been a little bit damp. You don't know what they've use to clean the sidewalks. Or the carpeting -- there are some attractions where people tend to sit down on the carpet while they are waiting to be let into the main show area.

I *think* the layout of YC CL is very similar to that of BC CL. Experts like YC fan can chime in more. As far as renovations, yes, I think YC is due for renovations AFTER BC, so you shouldn't run into any issues in April, as BC is not starting until at least summer.

And on the renovations note...our 2 beloved resorts are due for refurbs in the next year or so. Let's pray they don't use the same designer they've used to refurb the rooms at the GF. There are some pics on the GF FAQ....and let me tell you, they look like your average Hilton or Sheraton. The Disney magic is gone. Don't get me wrong..they're lovely, but there's no theming anymore. So again, let's pray that they don't let the same designer get his/her hands on our beloved YC/BC!

After many changes in planning and weather not cooperating, I think we are back to a YC/BC stay in September for F&W AND MNSSHP. Now the question is: do I choose YC club level or BC club level? I don't want to be in the middle of a BC refurb if they haven't finished...

I can pretty much guarantee you that refurb will not be finished ... it may not even have started then.

There are rooms just down the hall from the lounge at YC that look over the front and back entrances of the resort. These rooms are extremely convenient to the lounge and the lounge is only steps from the elevator much like BC CL. The resorts are basically mirror images of each other. Think of BC and flip it over the other way. The lounge itself is set up a little differently but very similarly.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! Was very nervous about the decision. I've stayed at BC once, and YC once but both times with family and in a two bedroom suite ( we lucked out on getting upgraded both times). So what room requests should I make???? Booked garden view room and would love to be by the Epcot end. Last time at BC had the suite on the end of hall, 1st floor. Would love same area. Also does anyone know how many pods come with coffee maker??? My future hubby needs a couple cups of coffee to get going in morning!!!!! Thanks for any advice. My future hubby is giving me no input because I have been there before and he never has. Lol, I am pretty sure the only reason he picked WDW for honeymoon is because I love it

We love the garden view rooms near the Epcot end. :goodvibes

Usually, they have two pods of regular coffee and two pods of decaf coffee every day. You can ask housekeeping for more coffee and they will leave it for you. :)

Checking in!!! Just slept 11 hours straight ... first time since December I have slept so long without a coughing spell waking me up. Although I'm having the normal nosebleeds (dry air), I think overall the desert dry air is doing me good. Still have some wheezing at night and I'm still coughing throughout the day, but I'm feeling more like my old self. I'm exhausted after spending two days in the classroom but I feel so good ... have Jeanne about 90% caught up on grading.

Lily is with her Daddy today so Jeanne and I are having a fun day. Nice brunch, two movies, dinner with the new man in her life, then a little pai gaw poker afterwards. Doesn't get much better than that.

Lily and Jeanne are obviously the best medicine in the world!!!

Teena have you tried a room warm mist humidifier for the nosebleeds and it will help the coughing too.

I stayed one day at the BC last year and fell in love with it. Now I just booked a two day stay which will be DH first time staying there and we are excited!!!!

If there is one thing you guys come recommend we do what would it be?

I hope to meet you in May Teena!

Teena have you tried a room warm mist humidifier for the nosebleeds and it will help the coughing too.

Actually my OCPD doctor said the dryness out here in the desert should help ... he said getting away from the humidity in Florida might help the cough clear up. I'll ask him about a humidifier when I get back. I have a bunch of tests and doctor appointments set up after I get back to Florida.

In all my time of lurking on this thread or the other blankets on the Diz I have never seen that question asked or answered so THAT WAS BRILLIANT WORK Amber!! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :worship:

I realized after 2 tries on the web page that I would have to call :rolleyes2 to get my ADR's at my 180 day mark. The link to the BOG fast pass was also quite the treat to try, over and over again, with no luck. I was quite the pit bull hitting that BOG FP site repeatedly until they FINALLY opened up for lunch reservations. My Dad was over tonight for dinner and I was trying to explain to him just how weird and difficult it was to get FAST PASSES for a MEAL at the most popular restaurant in MK that will not take ADR's for LUNCH. ....AND this was spread out over 3 separate reservations that had to have a time that overlapped so we could all eat together.

After listening to me for 2 seconds my Dad's eyes glazed over and he started to fall asleep. It was then that I realized that nobody knows what the H E double hockey sticks I'm talking about nor do they care. Getting those BOG FP's was like, like, like.... oh heck it was REALLY hard! .... And only you guys would appreciate that.

If you see reports of a woman assaulting family members with one of those RFID roses it will probably be me. That will happen when half of the family fails to show up for this lunch and the other half is complaining that they don't have burgers there. I'd throw my Braised Pork at them but it's too much of a waste of a good meal.

My revenge will be when I see the stragglers in my family standing in line for 2 hours to get a meet and greet with moley Snow White or some other "I'm Over it" Princess. Revenge is a dish best served while those that didn't listen are standing in a LONG line!

Mwa ha ha!

~Ninja Mom
Yes!! Let them wait on the long lines!! In August!!Serves them right!! :lmao:

The Braised Beef at Raglan Road is really good too. And the bread pudding dessert that can serve millions!!

MDE today's rant :badpc: ugh. Going on the APP, on iPhone everything is good. BUT not so much on the iPad :confused3. My friend I always meet up with in wdw and tour with has disappeared from the My Family & Friends on the iPad app. since I'm the one (what was that about commando?) who is making the ADRs & FP+ for us! it's kinda important that I am able to link her to the miserable useless tiered FP+ reservations! ugh!!!
I phoned AGAIN & CM basically doesn't know, and says- well they are probably doing some magical upgrades to the iPad APP. puleeze!
