We're staying BC Standard CL I was wondering what would be a good room request to make? Our preferences are a balcony and to be close to elevators and lounge. TIA!

Ok I apologize for not reading the other 219 pages.

Does the BC usually fill up for free dining? I'm waiting for the public offer. And also- do all the rooms have patios or balconies?

Hi folks

I linked our trip for next June to MDE today. We booked Standard view at YC (it's what we could afford) but MDE and the Disney site shows our room type as Garden. Have we had some very early pixie dust ?

In 2012 when we went Standard to WL we were upgraded to a phenomenal view of Bay Lake overlooking the beach where they had the movies.

Just curious.

J

What! There's a Starbucks at Epcot and MK? YES! I love this thread. I always learn something new. Do you know where exactly they are located?

In MK, it's in what was once the Main St. Bakery.
In Epcot, it's what used to be Fountain View. It's next to the well....big fountain. (Duh)

Then I'd say just that in your request. ;)

I'd trust what the website says. Enjoy the Pixie Dust.

That's too bad about the new locker policy. We used them last summer on our last day. We had checked out but were technically allowed to use SAB. We followed the advice from Dee and others and changed in the locker room

I wonder what prompted this

16 hours til we land in Orlando!! Should be checking into YC @ 9:30 tomorrow morning!! :woohoo: Weather reports look great & I'm hoping the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train not opening til later in the month will keep the crowds away this week. ;) Can't believe I'm sitting here on the Dis---we're totally packed except for a few toiletries we'll need in the morning. Getting take out for dinner & might watch my new Mary Poppins dvd tonight, my DH has never seen it.

Plan for tomorrow is Epcot after check in, afternoon nap, (gonna need it, have to get up @ 3 for 6 AM flight!). Dinner is @ Hollywood Brown Derby & made FP+ for Toy Story Mania first. If we're really ambitious, head to MK for EMH 12-2 AM!! In over 20 years of trips we never been in the parks that late. Planning on sleeping in a bit on Monday & then relaxing in the lazy river @ Typhoon Lagoon for hours!

We got in on arrival day about 11:30. We went to HS and rode some non headliners, had lunch at Prime time cafe and then headed back to YC. By then the room was ready so we changed to bathing suits and pooled it. That night we went to Epcot for our FPs and then back toYC for movie on the beach. Fun fun day!

We're going to do something similar. We're arriving just after lunch, then we'll head to DHS for some FP+ reservations, then dinner at Beaches & Cream, then head over to MK for the Wishes Dessert party.

does the Marketplace sell cream cheese?

Philadelphia cream cheese, 3 ounce package, $2.45 according to the BCV grocery order form (which we think is the same selection & pricing as buying it yourself in the Marketplace).

I still have a page of edits to make to the Be Our Guest list. I'll do that in the morning.

:rotfl: OK - that's funny!

Just wanted to let you know I will be staying at the BC again for one night post cruise in October! Looking forward to going back! :thumbsup2

:woohoo:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for October. I'm so glad you two enjoyed the resort during your recent stay.

:goodvibes

I have a dumb question. We usually stay at the BC, but it's sold out for our dates so we will be at the YC this trip. Do I need to go to the MP for coffee and breakfast items or is there a quick serve in the YC? I vaguely remember there being a place to get coffee/soda but you had to ask and there was no quick service for breakfast. It always popped up in my mind when I would choose BC over YC, but I may have been completely mistaken.

I think you have posted before, but just in case I haven't welcomed you yet :welcome:

Would you like me to add you to the Be Our Guest list? November?

Here's the info on the Ale & Compass breakfast, from the Dining Post on Page 1 of this thread.

REAL COFFEE ALERT!!!

Ale and Compass is located just off the Yacht Club Lobby.

In the morning, breakfast items are available like a DECENT cup of coffee and tea, pastries, an assortment of cereal and fruit.

Thanks, Niki in NJ for the photo!

Morning!! I have a quick question. I'm so excited about our August stay at the YC, it's in my thoughts daily lately. lol.

Question.. Are there any Standard Rooms (had to book standard with a TA to get an awesome price) located close to the YC quiet pool? If so, how would I phrase my room request fax or phone call?

Thanks in Advance for any answers received!! :)

I don't really know the layout of the YC, but I suspect there are some SV rooms close to the YC pool. I think you could word a request like that

"Close to Yacht Club quiet pool"

I'll post the Disneyzone map here in a couple of minutes.

ETA:

Room Numbers: I hesitantly post this link. Please use the map with caution as it is outdated, pre resort rehab. The view categories are also different. When this map was created, there were only standard view rooms and water view rooms (no garden view), so many of these rooms now have a different view category than what is indicated on this map.

Staying at the BC over 4th of July week...where is the closest location that I can get Mickey waffles? Preferably quick service. The only place I have found so far is captains grill sit down breakfast.

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Great question. I really wish Mickey waffles were available at the Marketplace! I think there is a quick service place, Picabu, at the nearby Swalphin resort (can't remember which one) and they may have the waffles. I don't think there is any place at Boardwalk.

Anyone know if there are breakfast places in EPCOT with Mickey waffles?

:welcome: to the thread.

No need to read all of the pages on the thread, or to apologize for not doing so. We do try to keep the first page of this thread updated with current info and common questions, but I don't think you will find the answer to your question there.

I don't think the resort necessarily fills BECAUSE of Free Dining, since a room discount is generally a better deal than free dining at the deluxe resorts. But the resorts have been at high to full occupancy during many times of the year-

Unfortunately, only about 50% of the rooms at the Beach Club have full-sized balconies. The other half do have balconies, but they are only large enough for one person to stand out there.

Hope that helps.

I'm not sure, but one guest who asked was told that too many people who were using the locker room were leaving it in a very messy condition, so they had to limit the usage to only spa guests.

Thanks for the reply Dee! When the time gets closer I will fax my room request & hope to get nice & close to the quiet pool... for the hot tub! ;)

You are welcome, but two things:

Add your request to your reservation now by calling the Central Reservations Office at Disney

It is my understanding that none of the Disney resorts pay attention to faxed room requests, so I wouldn't bother with that. Call again about 7-10 days out to make sure the request is still on your reservation

I loved that link! Taking it with a grain of salt... is there still a game room on property? If so, we totally missed it last time!

ok so after not bring able to get a fp for 7 dwarves the day it opened up - i was able to switch one for it today ! yeah ! anyways that threw a wrinkle in our dinner plans - worth it i am sure. so i switched my captains grill to another night and thinking about just going to the crew cup lounge . we will have a kong day - keys to the kingdom then squeezing in 3 rides then coming back to yc for dinner. has anyone eaten at crews cup for dinner recently ? i have looked at the menu and it looks good for what we want that evening .
