Real question for those in the 1000 point club. What do you do with all those points? Is it many short Disney trips during the year in studios, 1BRs? Grand villas? Spontaneous trips?

2) VDH Feb Studio 2 nights
3) VGF March 2BD 3 nights/ BWV 3BD GV 4 nights

This use year we are using our 1060 points for
2 annual passes
6 nights in a Grand Villa for Halloween (4 BWV 2BLT)
12 nights in 1BRs (3 each in RIV, AKV Club Level, BCV, and Poly Tower) Half in early Dec and half in mid/late Jan
2 nights in a studio followed by 3 nights in a 2BR at VGC in July

The biggest factor for us is that we travel during peak weeks: studios during post Christmas/NYE + Spring break. Then throw in 7-10 nights in a two bedroom during the summer hosting family or friends.

I also agree with PP - once you get a taste of 1-2 bedrooms, going back to a studio is hard. I’d never do 1 bedroom in our Dec week though - hard to rationalize even for me - but could see that becoming the norm for all other trips.

32 days, yeesh. At least I know not to be sweating mine if there's nothing after 28 days...
I wonder if they contacted the buyer before us. When we received our notice that it passed, they said the buyer had filled out the paperwork before we received the paperwork. So maybe a wire got crossed somewhere. Hope it goes faster for you.

If you were hoping for some big shake-up now that Disney’s fiscal year has rolled over, prepare to be wildly underwhelmed.

TL/DR:
  • 12 total buybacks in October
  • ROFR % stayed flat due to reduced sales volume
  • Disney seems to be sticking to its light, strategic approach
  • Still zero buybacks YTD at Polynesian, BLT, Fort Wilderness, Hilton Head, and Disneyland Hotel
Breakdown of October ROFR Activity:
  • 🦁 Animal Kingdom: 4
  • 🏝️ Old Key West: 4
  • 🌲 Grand Californian: 3
  • 🏰 Grand Floridian: 1
So basically… business as usual. No major changes in strategy or targets. And honestly? At this point, I’m not sure Disney even knows exactly why it buys back some of the ones it does.

If you’re a buyer, this kind of quiet month is probably good news—unless you’re listing contracts way below market, odds are you’re in the clear.

Curious—anyone get hit by ROFR this month, or did your contract sail through?
