So I was only able to get RO discount for lagoon view even though I wanted garden. I want first floor preferably in conch key.. Is this possible does anyone know?

I keep trying to call but only get busy signal.

Conch has some very lovely view from the first floor.of the gardens or the marina..I say go by the theory "if at first you don't succeed, try try again"...Lots of peeps booking reservations at the moment..I would not be surprised if your room category opens up sooner than later...

Blue - I'm totally obsessed with my WDW planning this year and on my to-do list is to watch for RO discounts. I am on it until I can get that discount LOL!

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question but your question did get me thinking! I didn't think about what buildings/views would be included in the RO discount! I've just been looking at if GF has been included in the last few offers that were released this year or not, and what % tier. Is it typical for WDW to include the main building rooms in the GP RO? Does anyone know?

CL rooms...RPC/SL have always been included in the room discounts..and at the same rate as the general room inventory....Not sure how many of those rooms that they do appropriate for the discount...but I don't think you should have any problem ..especially since you are right on the ball loveshak....

Well our room wasn't available for the FD offer DH insisted to switch to AKL to enjoy the discount. So we are now there Nov 10-19. And at GF (hoping for room offer?!) for the 19-21 for MVMCP. I said there was no way I wasn't being in the MK area for after the party!

I spent almost 2 hours on hold before getting through to someone. I thought it was only for Visa holders today, the general public thing had me literally running home from what I thought was going to be my leisurely coffee at starbucks this morning!

2 hours on hold! Yikes! As I told the PP ..keep on trying busymommy...things often open up after the initial booking frenzy....

No such luck. I am so glad I read this thread so I was prepared for the bad news. I'm not sure what we'll do. We can afford to go for 7 nights, but we really don't need that much time. If late fall discounts come out over the summer I may run the numbers for 5 days and cancel this reservation. I'm also going to keep an eye on the Four Seasons- if they run that stay 4 days get one night free we may do that. Or we may just go for 7 nights. Pretty crappy customer service- I am so irritated part of me just wants to say screw you Disney and cancel but I will sleep on it for awhile.

Wow! I am shocked right now by everything I am hearing! Maybe I do need to have my dog registered as a therapy dog because right now I need it! First Disney changes the policy on dropping days on a reservation, and now it sounds like they are drastically reducing the number and category of rooms available on an offer. I am so depressed!

Loveshak, I can tell you that RPC has been included in the RO discounts in the past, but right now I feel like I can't trust anything that I know to be true from the past because Disney keeps changing everything!
And BLUE, I can't figure out what they are doing with the lower discounts (rotating among resorts) either?? I have seen 25% at GF before several times, but it seems to be switching to other resorts a lot more. It's so strange to me that BC is only 20% now since I got 37% on my upcoming trip...which is why we couldn't pass it up! Yes, that is an AP rate, but it's still higher than what they have offered in a long time (which is why I'm so confused by these new changes). I have always considered RO discounts to be better on deluxe resorts too (especially RPC) but it sounds like they are limiting everything now and you will be lucky to get anything (FD or RO)! I think I'll go hug my dog now

Hi all! Stayed at the GF for the first time last week. What an amazing resort!! Top notch CM's there from housekeeping to management and everyone in between. Hoping to get back this fall if possible. If not, we'll do a return in the spring again. The theme is not our favorite. But the atmosphere and attitudes of the guests and CMs is so pleasant I can't imagine not staying there again. Never seen so many happy, polite, agreeable people in one place before.

I would get really depressed if I didn't always have another Disney trip on the horizon! I'm glad to have found some other people who "get" that. My Dad thinks I'm crazy, but I think he's crazy for going to his lake house all the time (he's retired) when there's not a restaurant or even a Walmart closer than forty minutes from there (there's a gas station 15 minutes away-lol). Sure boats and four wheelers are fun, but they aren't Disney

I just modified my labor day ressie from standard club level room in SL to deluxe king in RPC with the "late summer" room only discount!! It ended up being exactly $1 more expensive than my original ressie! So keep your eye out for it!!

I agree, Disney is very unpredictable with no reason for what they do when....they always keep us guessing . BBs are nice as it's always fun leaving Disney with another trip already in the works .

I have been really disappointed in the GF merchandise they've had recently...never anything new! And I had thought the same thing about the resort specific pandora charms...it would be awesome, but I don't know if it will ever happen (but there's always hope...never say never).

Leaving for the GF in 2 days sooo excited to be back!!! I've heard he splash pad is currently under repair- does anyone know if the repairs are completed or what the schedule for repairs are? I have a 5 and 2 year old and they love that pad- but who wouldn't??!!

Just booked 1 yr anniversary trip w/ hubby for GF for 12/9-12/13. We usually stay at WL, but received a pin code that we couldn't get to work for WL on our days. This will be my first stay at GF....and my first seeing the parks at Christmas!! Very excited Hubby has stayed there before with his family and loved it. We have eaten at Citricos several times, but may try Narcoossee's this go around. We've decided to reserve V&A for our 10 yr anniversary

Discounts: I have gotten it on SL and RPC with passholder and orbitz too.
Don't be worried about orbitz. I got Disney's 30% then an additional15% on our Sl stay this August.

It was only $66 a day to upgrade from GV to SL!!!

In the past it seems that some RPC shows up the closer I get to the trip.

On a different note I was sitting at my desk yesterday and then I thought just because my kids are both going to a SUNY school maybe the calendar is different??? So I checked, and yep DS goes to school a week earlier than DD. Right now dd and I would be at gf 8/16-20 and he starts 21st for orientation.

I can't be gone before my guy leaves.

So he says "no go" to the blt his last weekend home and wants me home so dd and I will probably move it to 8/23-27. That is better because he will be gone and I will be sad anyways. She is a jr and wont need much time to move in on the 29/30th.

Of course if he gets in his 2nd choice he is on standby for then it goes back to original plans.

So, sorry I have been MIA! New baby cousin this week, kitchen cabinets and appliances installed and orbitz changing!

Congrats!

I haven't stayed in a lagoon room so others will help you with that. However I don't think the resort is very spread out. I have stayed in Sago and the Villas (both ends of the resort) without any issues.

Make sure to read up page 1 here of this thread, lots of great info.

I always think it is a good idea to start getting familiar with the resort map. I also enjoy exploring on google/bing maps too![/QUOTE]

No CR yet, but it is still on the list . I have 2 (tentative) trips booked at the moment....one in August at the GF under the new summer discount and the other in December at the Poly. CR is available with the discount for August, but it will most likely be a resort only trip with a lot of pool time and as much as I've thought about switching, I just can't get excited about the CR pool . The GF, however, would be perfect .....so we'll see.

The GF is a great resort for an anniversary trip, you are going to love it . Also, Disney at Christmas time is amazing as everything is very festive and beautifully decorated .

We've never stayed in a lagoon view so I can't comment on the EWP, but as far as the grounds and walking, the GF really isn't that spread out. Some outer buildings are closer to the main areas than others, but none are far away. Hopefully others will be able to give some input on which building is best for the EWP .

In general, decorations usually start going up around Thanksgiving (although I don't know specific dates). Hopefully someone else will be able to give more specific dates for the GF .

Hi everyone!! My DH and I decided to take a last minute trip to the beach so we're both trying to 'disconnect' but I still try to catch up with my Disboards in the morning - LOL!!

Trishadono - how do you get the Disney 30% and Orbitz 15%?? Or maybe I misunderstood that was just for passholders?

Anyway, happy Saturday everyone and I'm going to enjoy some sunshine! We're having a great time but it still makes me wish November would hurry up and get here for our GF trip!!

Hi everyone! 105 days to go for me!
So it seems the best option to get from GF to Poly is the boat, correct? How long is the walking path?
I was checking out the transportation wizard, and I can't believe how long it takes to get to Epcot. I guess if there was a con to staying at a deluxe monorail resort, that would be one! The wizard said about 42 minutes, yikes! Getting to HS and AK is quicker on bus.
