2013 Free Dining Watch

I booked yesterday with the new Visa discount. I tried 3 different weeks and none had value resorts available. We booked a moderate which is fine but just wanted to let you guys know they may have very low to no availability for many dates.

We're booked! January 30 to February 6
We used the dine/stay Disney Visa promo...
2 adults and a child for All-Star Music (standard) with 7 day park hoppers. We saved about $500 (it is 2417 full price and we paid $1922).

I asked if there was a PIN on my account, she said yes...BUT...the pin was some lousy deal. It made the same package $2241. The Visa deal was better.

I was ALSO told by the CM that there has been a lot of "pixie dust" flying around lately so keep looking for a FD promo in the next few weeks. That would save us about another $130...so let's hope!!!! :confused3:

In any case....WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious which weeks you were looking at? I am hoping for a value resort from 1/9-1/15....specifically AS Movies....*biting nails*

I just booked airfare this a.m. because airfare has been slowly creeping up and wanted to lock in our fare before it was out of our budget. Hope I didn't make the wrong move *assuming* that there would be a value with our dates................:crazy2:

ARRGH! I'm going to have to wait until I can hash through the numbers with my TA. Which probably won't be until next week. I don't think I can book using my Rewards ard, and then pay with another credit card, right? Because that's how I would have to do it--that, or wait until the dates open up for the general public.

On the good side, though, I originally planned to pay for the whole trip. Then MIL said she'd pay for hotel/tickets/dining plan. So, even if I'm "forced" to upgrade and get, say, concierge, in order to get a discount, it's going to cost me little or nothing. MIL does have a limit on what she'll pay, but it's a high one--enough to cover a week a the Poly with park hoppers and the regular DDP.

The only thing required to take advantage of a Disney Visa promotion is that you put $200 down on the Disney Visa. The rest can be on any other form of payment you wish.

For those who have booked with the Dine/Stay offer...

Were you able to determine what exactly is getting discounted and by how much? Is it that you are paying the kids price for dining or is it a % off the whole package?

I'm trying to compare everything so i am prepared for when I adjust my current reservation on Wednesday. Thanks!

Same here! I wish I could start quoting the trip with these discounts on Disney's website! :confused3

Based on posts by others I believe that everything that is usually charged as an adult will be charged as a child instead, can anyone confirm that?

For example, usually the 3rd and 4th adults in a room are charged $10 per day on top of the regular room rate, are those extra charges removed because now they are considered to be children? (we're staying in 3 adults and 1 teen)

What about tickets, does it simply drop the difference between adult and child prices ($18 each for a 8 day MYW ticket)?

And I believe the Dining Plan gets discounted considering all as children but limited to the QSDP for Value Resorts and DDP for other resorts and the upgrades would be charged as adults.

We are booked for Pop for 14 nights and I'm torn now between staying those 14 nights with a Room Only discount or 9-11 nights with the package discount (14 nights with QSDP wouldn't work well for us I believe, unless it was FD!)
We're already staying the first 2 nights off-site (we arrive late at night and the next day will be just for outlet shopping) and most of our first week would be off-site parks with Disney parks on the second week.

We had planned to be at Disney Jan 18th - 24th and from looking at the offer, discounts won't be offered the first 3 days we are there...UGH! Wonder if it will be better to go the next week so I can take full advantage of all the discounts?!? ( we are flexible for travel dates) I'm really waiting on Wednesday though so I can crunch numbers and compare.

I just got off the phone with WDW Resevations. I booked a 4 night package with 6 day base ticket and quick service inning plan for $1286. (Me, DW, Ds14) Room and tickets were $1276 on their website. So, for us it was basically free dining. Now, I have to call back and a room only at a deluxe for the next 2 nights once a deide on which resort. I did learn something that was confusing though. I got a quote for more than $1600 at Pop for the same exact package.

The savings don't appear to be capped at $600. I just called and made our reservations.

Pop Century, preferred room, 2/7 - 2/15, 7-day tickets w/park hopper, quick service dining, 2 adults, 14 & 3 yr old and saved $789.87. I went on Disney's site and made the exact same package.

Is it February yet?!

I decided yesterday after getting the email that we would also go for Mardi Gras/Valentine's Day.

I was not able to determine that...(but I didn't ask). However...free dining would be a better deal for us by about $130. (Based on price we paid minus a "full price" package without dining available on the website now.)

While I have not booked the quotes I got earlier were just slightly lower than when I calculated out Adults at Kids price. They were all within about $50-$100 of what I had figured out and all lower than I thought. So while I don't know exactly how their discounting it would seem that if you calculate Adults at Kids price it at least gives you a good baseline.

When I calculated Adults at Kids pricing I simply did rack rate room + kids passes + kids dining plan

Hope it helps

Just a quick question (that I should have asked the CM)...
Do they still snail mail the luggage tags and reservation? (I ask because in my email it said that if you were having trouble with it to call and they would send a paper copy of your reservation).

ALSO..if that's the case, I have to fly to the mailbox before my DD, it's a surprise trip!!!

Yes, they do. Your "Mickey Mail" with your luggage tags should arrive in the mail about a month before your trip.

ok just got off ht phone with our travel agent. We were originally booked for 2Standard Royal Rooms at POR. No dining and 5 adult and 1 child four day base tickets. The total was 3four20 (sorry my four key won't work, lol). Now we're in 2 Garden View Royal Rooms same tickets and now the the dining plus plan for 5 adults and 1 child. Total came to 3six89 (six key isn't working either). The price for that plan would have been Fourty six hundred and ninety dollars. We're only paying two hundred and sixty nine more dollars for a total saving of a thousand bucks!!! Free dining would be better but this is pretty darn good since our room was upgraded as well.

Hello, I'm from Argentina and I wanted to ask a question, if I go to a value and do the upgrade to the table. much would you pay for every adult and child.
thank you very much and sorry for my English

I must be the only one not saving with this...

4 adults for 6 nights with park hopper at AOA suite 31xx.xx no dining is what we had

The t64 was $99 more to add QSDP that doesn't make sense how are you all saving?

I called back today ( almost a 2 hr wait) to switch to 2 pop rooms and it was going to be $1500 per room so still not saving anything.

Am I missing something?

Any idea how 4 adults and 1 infant can do this cheaper?

Had you paid full price for QSDP for 4 adults 6 nights total for dining would have come to $901.92. I look at this as a savings of $802.92 considering you added dining for $99
