*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

Good to hear it's not as bad as some make it seem. I'm not afraid to eat at a garbage can (lol - see my whole other thread on it) ... so this shouldn't be a problem.

We are also Disney garbage can users during F&W...the cleanest cans you're ever see.

Yep, count me in on being a garbage can user.

Also since maintenance/ custodial workers are often cleaning them and taking out the trash, they may actually be cleaner than the tables from time to time.

If you're weary about it you could always carry a small pack of Clorox wipes for a quick wipe down. Or hand sanitizer on a napkin.

Or just eat directly out of the garbage can. We use the cans all the time

Sent from my mobile device.

Do they have the Dole Whips with rum at any of the booths. My friend had one at the Flower and Garden Festival and said it was fantastic!

We are going to the festival this Thursday for one day. Are there any demonstrations we can do that day? We have not signed up for anything.

Also, what all is at the festival center? Is it worth a visit?

We have been before but just walked around to the booths.

Most are already sold out for that day. There is a noon wine seminar, and a 1pm culinary demo.

If you're up for something bigger, there is a Japan food and wine pairing at 3pm. We did the Moroccan one last year and loved it! :thumbsup2

Any reviews on the Via Napoli food on Thursdays?
What is the menu?
Where can I book?
Any info?

I booked today the Parisian Breakfast at 9am and than the Italian Cheese and Wine at 10:30am. Am I crazy or what both on the same day and same morning. Oh well, no lunch for us that day. I was trying to find things that were still open and I found those two. Which are two, we will really enjoy. Just not sure if I will enjoyed it that close together.

That is a lot of food pretty quickly. I did not eat until dinner after the breakfast.

Also, watch the time. The breakfast runs until 10:30 so you will need to leave early to get to your next event.

There are mixology and food seminars later in the day, think it just depends on attendance so you can try and see what's available before hand by checking online. They also have a shop and wine/liquor available for purchase. We did the tequila tasting, seafood demonstration and Once Upon A Vine tasting - all thee were good with Once Upon a vine being a very nice wine for the price ($13 bottle).

I figure I would have to leave about 15 to 20 min. early to make the wine and cheese.:scratchin

Can we just go to the festival center the morning we get there and see what is available ? Or is that just wasting our time?

Nope they have an orange dole whip with some time of coconut liquor at the Refreshment Port

I saw that and thought they probably wouldn't sell another Dole Whip drink someplace else. Too bad.

I tried the Orange Dole whip with the creme de coco liquor. I thought it was great!

Is it a strong coconut flavor? I like coconut with pineapple, not so sure about orange...

Plane takes off in 9 hours. With any luck, I'll be at the International Gateway by noon. Looking forward to Food & Wine 2013 - man do I need a few days off work !
