2013 Beach and Yacht Club FAQ: Don't Post Here! New Thread Now Open

Apologies in advance for this question that I am sure has been asked 29384 times on this FAQ. Could not seem to find an answer on the first page, though.

What do the best standard views at the YC consist of? Are they all exclusively roof/parking lot or do some catch a glimpse of trees/the quiet pool/landscaping/etc? Would you suggest any area(s) in particular?

I know that the garden view rooms are worth the upgrade, but this was the only room category available through a special promo.

Thanks in advance! :)

I sent you a PM. It is a question that comes up frequently but it doesn't seem like there is much info out there about YC's standard view.

I'd suggest Crews Cup at the Yacht Club (attached to Yachtsman Steakhouse). We've had great food there and not had a wait for a table either.

I've also read good things about the Bellvue Lounge over at the Boardwalk Inn. Not tried it myself, maybe we will next visit.

Also, not sure of your ticket situation, but if you are able to head over to Epcot I would suggest Tutto Gusto wine celler in Italy. We had some yummy food there and loved the seating areas. Lots of wines to choose from! That would be a nice place for a date night and still not too far from the BC believe it or not.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!!!

Just finished our anniversary trip and wanted to offer a few hotel comments. This was our first stay at an Epcot resort and I am glad that we choose the YC over the BC. The BC was filled to the brim with small children! Now I love kids, have a few of my own, but this was an anniversary trip!;). We had the same room set up as the pp with two queens and the day bed. Our view was overlooking the pool and gardens! Very nice! We didn't spend much time in the room so I am glad that I didn't do CL.

Housekeeping was so-so. They came in daily and cleaned up and left a few towel animals but I wish they would do a more thorough cleaning between quests. The bathroom floor could have been cleaned better, glasses had stuff on them, and the return air vent was filthy as was the table underneath the desk. After our third night, I called housekeeping and asked them to change the sheets and they said they would take care of it right away. It didn't get done until the following day which is the normal rotation.

I found the buses to be very off schedule. We would wait for 30 minutes and have two buses show up back to back. They really need to work on their timing.

We had a wonderful stay overall and if anyone has any questions, I will be happy to answer them!

Thank you so much. We leave 3 weeks from today(BC CL) and I am loving your report and photos.

I am still giggling over your "towel animal(?)"...hysterical.

I can't wait for your next report.

Jan

I'm glad I'm not the only one with their head in the gutter! That picture was hilarious!

Thanks for the pics and review. I have been calling twice a day for the past 5 days to book 2 rooms with and awesome 60% code I have with no luck. I gave up this morning but after reading your post I called again and was able to book!! I cannot wait! The part about the little girl hanging over the balcony gave me palpitations! That is my biggest fear. I actually pull the chairs in our rooms or deny access. My kids are climbers! It will be our first time here and I am counting the days. 20 to be exact!! Thanks again!

Ooohhh....is that the 60% CM discount?? My husband is a CM and we tried calling every day before we left to see if any YC CL rooms had opened up as eligible for this discount. But we didn't have any luck.

Very happy for you!!!

Thanks! Yes it the CM discount. We needed 2 rooms so it was a challenge. I'm just so happy I gave it one more try.:woohoo:

CT Disney: I am still laughing at that towel Animal! Thanks for sharing

Your room view was Quite nice :)

Hey All!!!
9 days into our 11 day trip to YC. I will do a report when I get back but I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but there is at least ONE YC CL room that has NO BALCONY at all.....room 5163. Our friends had it this week...I had no idea that existed. They were not complaining because they had been upgraded to CL from a GV room, but, just an FYI. (Not sure if there are others like it). :goodvibes

Nothing special required ... so whatever you are in the mood to wear.

We usually spend the mornings at the park in our "park" clothes, come back for a swim, shower and change. I usually wear something nicer each evening, like dressier shorts and a halter top with sandals -- makes me feel like I am more out for the evening than park touring.

Hope you get the chance to enjoy!

Well Disney released their UK offers for 2014 today so we are all booked up :yay::yay:

Our dates our July 4th to July 17th and we are staying BC GV, with free DDP and a $200 Disney gift card.

Originally we had hoped to be staying CL but the prices for next year have really risen - for a family of four the cost has increased by about $750 (£500) for a GV room and that's staying 13 nights instead of 14, on top of that my husbands DNeice is coming with us also, the cost to upgrade to CL was about $2600 (£1800) on top of that so I couldn't justify paying that as well.

We are actually leaving Ireland on June 29th, flying to New York to meet my BIL and his daughter (they live in Geneva), staying there for 5 days, and then flying down to Orlando for the stay at the BC with my husbands niece, before flying back to Ireland almost 3 weeks later :thumbsup2

Can anyone give me recommendations for an airline to fly from New York to Orlando with? We are flying into from Dublin into JFK and from MCO to Dublin to just need a one way flight from New York (any airport) to MCO. We would prefer one that includes at least one checked bag each and allows us to book seats together.

Thanks for any information :goodvibes

I second the vote for JetBlue :thumbsup2

Are you flying in from Ireland on Aer Lingus? My grandparents used to fly Aer Lingus and it brings happy memories of presents from Ireland.

Thanks for the advice I will look into them :goodvibes:goodvibes

Sorry should have been clearer, my BIL lives in Geneva, Switzerland, he is flying in from there with his daughter and meeting us in New York city for 5 days together before we continue to Orlando with his daughter, he has to go back to work. We will all be flying into JFK for the NY part of our trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice, would Newburgh airport still be the best one if flying out of New York City? I thought we would probably be using JFK again or Newark.

Sorry, see above I didnt realise there was a Geneva in NY state, i should have been clearer:)

That's really funny. When I read it, I thought Geneva, Switzerland. But if I lived in Geneva NY, I would think you meant Geneva in the States. Funny.

Never mind, I didn't scroll back far enough before jumping in. Other people gave better advice so I'll delete what I was going to say.
