I posted a little dining review from our late August trip today if anyone is interested with lots of pics. Link is at the end of my siggy where it says "dining" after the YC review.

Fantastic dining review! Now I want a lobster omelette or peanut butter cupcake for breakfast (and a Pina Colava)

;)

On another note. It's 132 steps from EPCOT to room 1501. We just figured out that it's probably the closest room to EPCOT in the whole park.

That is a GREAT piece of information!!!

Just for clarification- from where in EPCOT? IG exit or elsewhere?

:goodvibes

Day 4 I had to to laundry despite being there early I had to wait, seriously why only 3 washing machines but 8 tumble dryers ?! What's ever going to be good about that set up? Anyway someone had smashed the control panel on the washer at the back of the room rendering it unusable and the repair guy couldn't open it to get the asset number for the new control panel as the batch code was inside the machine behind the door!!

So with the other two machines jammed full I waited my turn and got chatting to some other guests. Some nice folks from upstate NY, talking about football and coaching and kids teams. Then after my family size load started I caught some sun at the quiet pool

Thanks for more fantastic pictures and the laundry report. Working washers were supposed to be installed on Monday. Anyone been in the laundry room since then?

:thumbsup2

We are sitting at the USO waiting for our flight!!! BC we can't wait!!!!

Have a blast!

Another update for anyone who is interested. We had dinner at Cape May on Monday. The service was good and the food was good except for the crab legs which is what we all wanted to eat. My DH overheard a lady complaining and asking to see the chef so he also asked to see the chef. The chef came over and said that his cooks must be overlooking the crab lens so he would make us a fresh plate, okay sounds good. The new batch came out the same. These crabs were an off color almost brown on the bottom making them look burnt. The chef came back to see if these were any better and we were honest with him, they weren't. He then told us he was having issues with his supplier in Alaska and had even considered removing the crab from the menu until the issues were resolved. So a few days later my DH saw Cape May front desk people they were talking about Monday night. They told my DH that over 10 tables complained on that night. Without asking they offered to give my DH a credit for half of our cost. Worked out to be 120.00. That was nice of them.

On to other things, the parks have been pretty slow so rides have been great.

Tuesday we ate at 'Ohana it was awesome as always. Love that dessert

Wednesday we made the switch from the Villas to BC CL, everything went smooth except my daughter left her cosmetic bag in the villa. The CL staff got it back for us right away.

We had lunch at Beaches and Cream and we had the Kitchen Sink. It was awesome.

Last night was dinner at Via Napoli but we cancelled because no one was hungry. Sad about that, really wanted to try it.

We have connecting rooms 5664 and 5662. These are standard rooms. We overlook the very front of the resort, dead center. I will try to post pics later. One room has a daybed, chair that makes into a bed and a queen bed. It also has a curtain room divider. The other room is the standard 2 queen beds. Both rooms only have the Juliette balconies, but we really like these rooms.

Off to AK, will post more later.

Now that's what I'm hoping for, buckets of pixie dust!!
Enjoy, it sounds fab!

Glad they comp some $ for the bad meal at Cape May. Sounds like the rest of your trip is going well. Have fun :goodvibes

My family had our first stay at BC in June and we LOVED it. Already considering our return trip, but am looking at Oct. Nov. or Feb. We absolutely love the pool and will want to swim daily...so I was curious if daily swimming is doable during those months. Thanks!

Definitely October. November thru and including March can go either way. You can have days in the low 90's and in the high 50's. Just never know.

Wifey - what type of camera do you use? Are those colors on a "normal" setting? They are beautiful!! I have a fairly new camera, but if yours is easy to use, it might be something to look into for my mom for our upcoming trip!! Thanks for the gorgeous shots!

Just my iPhone 4s (blush) you are too kind, O did give them some gentle editing through my Camera+ app with a touch of polarise and a hint of vibrant in the edit and effects sections . Once you get the hang of it it is really something, I often tweak my Instagram photos using this app. You can adjust it if you play around with it and add things like borders and zoom and crop them too. There are lots of apps you can use even on regular camera shots if you save them to a digital memory card you can do it at home at leisure until you are happy with them then just re-save them into a new folder. Have fun(:))

and watched the geckos an the birds as I read a book on the kindle. Then off into the parks after putting away the clean laundry... I learned this time not to take the laundry sheets again in future they didn't dissolve properly and some stuff had to be washed again... Oh well! However we did see

These scenes minus all the crowds were a strange yet very welcome sight, the world seemed to arrive en mass at lunch time. Suddenly it seemed we were being followed everywhere by Fran Drescher, Rosie O'Donnell, Danny Devito and Steve Buscemi all with their kiddos in tow. It was nice for a while until some of them started to get very loud everywhere they went, some of the language from the mothers talking ( more like screaming) to their kids was rude and nasty. There was no need for it really, I'm sure their time is just as precious as everyone else's and they should chill out more to make use if things like the kid swap areas ,one poor bloke we saw ...in 3 days never got to ride a single thing because he was left with the youngest kids while his wife/ partner dragged the oldest one on to the rides with her. One poor kid in TT was in hysterics about going on it he was certain that the rides in WDW were gonna kill hip poor lad! He was in floods of tears and sobbing his heart out in line It was all I could do not to hug him and to not ask his Dad what on earth gave the kid that idea. Do other parents not realise that sometimes kids need a time out and less brain stimulation and a chance to chill out for the whole family from time to time! I kinda thought that was the whole point of a vacation.
Thankfully this was not a regular sight during our stay there were many more families who were enjoying the whole experience and I couldn't help thinking to myself "I bet that's a Disboards family right there all relaxed stress reduced and happy".
We did get seated with some NY people at the Biergarten I think they were called Ed and Veronica and their two sons and daughter in law a lovely family staying at the AKL villas we got chatting and found out we all loved the giraffes up at AK as well as the beers at the restaurant!
BTW was anyone else at TT the day it closed twice? That was bad even the MDE app lost all the FP+ selections for us when that happened!!

We booked water or lagoon view room at YC with a ground floor request. This top picture is a great example of what we may get if it's not lagoon view. Thanks!!

The last we saw of them, the "Bad" refrigerators were hanging out back by the dumpster, smoking funny cigarettes and passing around a bottle of Jack Daniels. A CM overheard some of the fridges talking about going over to the All Stars resorts and trying to fake their way into a now defunct Dis Boards refrigerator swap.

The sad thing about these fridges is that once they go bad like this it's very hard to rehabilitate them. It's only a matter of time until the law catches up with them and they are sent to the cooler.

Love it! :rotfl:

Wifey, great photos and thanks so much for the tips! So excited to look for these things on iphoto!

As for your fellow park-goers in the afternoons, that's really unfortunate. Although your post reminds me of our 6-year-old. Rule in our family is that you never have to ride something if you don't want to - we have rider swap for that and the point is to have a good time! Problem is our youngest loves the big kid rides, but gets scared in line sometimes. We constantly remind him we can duck out at any time, and he always insists he wants to ride. But then, there's his "We're all going to die!" exclamations along the way. So it really sounds awful. At least on Grizzly River Run last month at DL, the family in our raft overheard him in line, so they had the benefit of all the background and knew he was riding willingly. They were really fun and we had a great time with them. So if anyone sees a tiny guy yelling "We're all going to die!" in February, please know that he's a willing rider!
