We're down to the less than 24hrs to go dance :)

This time tomorrow we'll be in the air, having left rainy London for hot and sunny WDW!

Can't wait!!!!!!

Happy travels, one and all :)

Welp, sent my requests off for a view of the fireworks from the room to DVC. Hopefully it happens but if not, we'll still be at BCV! Looking forward to the pool!

Thanks!

Thanks y'all!

Does anyone know if it's true that you can pick up your Photopass Plus card in the Beach Club Marketplace?

Thanks!

There is a photopass desk just outside the marketplace near the lobby, but it's only open for a few hour each evening. Like 5-9pm or something like that.

Hi there - we arrive at BCV Sept 24 and since our flight does not arrive until noon I am assuming we should not plan on arriving at the resort until 2pm latest (?). We want to use SAB right away if room is not ready. (and yes I realise DME may not have delivered our luggage yet, we will have only 1 checked bag as we want access to our things so each of us has a carry on).

Whereabouts would we find the fitness center in relation to the lobby/check in and the pool area as I read on this thread that you could use the changerooms and showers in there on check in/out day?

Will front desk give us a bracelet or something to get into the pool area even though our room may not be ready at check in check in? And can we get towels there?

Also SAB related, are child size life vests available ? We stayed at AKV-kidani 4 years ago and I seem to remember they were available.

Thanks so much for your help.

Yes, you can, but there are limited hours for it. I think it is something like 5 pm to 9 pm but I' m not exactly sure about that. :)

I have instructions on posting pictures to the DIS in Post 14, Other Useful Info. See below.

These instructions are for posting from your computer.

You basically need to upload your photos to a photosharing service and then get the correct IMG link and post that.

I think if you want to post from your phone, you need to add the Photobucket (or other photosharing service) app to your phone.

I haven't posted from my phone- there was some discussion in the previous FAQ thread about posting from an iphone (see pages 164 and 194), so that may help.

Go ahead an practice here when you have a chance!

Post a Photo on the DIS?
sub-lesson: Upload all of your pictures into Photobucket in Large, not Full-size, format
Note- March 2013: This feature is not currently working on the Photobucket Beta version. All photos are loading in a large format. Resizing of pictures must be done individually. ARGH!!!!
ETA: March 15- this feature was added to the Beta version

.

Thank you DEE! This might be my weekend project...:cool1::cool1:

You will be given your KTTW cards even if your room isn't ready and I think they text you if you want when the room is ready. You can still use them to get to the pool and get the bracelets there. Pretty sure, but my room has always been ready and we had the bands last month so didn't need our cards to get into SAB. The fitness center is left out of the lobby either walking through the inside hallway or outside alongside the outer edge of pool area which is all fenced. I think that inside hall ends and you have to go to the outside one after Yachtsman Steakhouse. There is an entrance to the pool right near the fitness center. If you stick to walking right around the walkway you can't miss it, if you pass Beaches & Cream you went too far. It's right next to the arcade too.

Make sure you have shoes/flip flops/etc for in the fitness room

My son forgot and was reminded

Paid in full today! See you September 27th Beach Club concierge ;)

Happy Friday indeed

We love Dorothy! :)

Wifey, great photos and thanks so much for the tips! So excited to look for these things on iphoto!

As for your fellow park-goers in the afternoons, that's really unfortunate. Although your post reminds me of our 6-year-old. Rule in our family is that you never have to ride something if you don't want to - we have rider swap for that and the point is to have a good time! Problem is our youngest loves the big kid rides, but gets scared in line sometimes. We constantly remind him we can duck out at any time, and he always insists he wants to ride. But then, there's his "We're all going to die!" exclamations along the way. So it really sounds awful. At least on Grizzly River Run last month at DL, the family in our raft overheard him in line, so they had the benefit of all the background and knew he was riding willingly. They were really fun and we had a great time with them. So if anyone sees a tiny guy yelling "We're all going to die!" in February, please know that he's a willing rider!

Ah so cute, I'm glad to know that your DS is a thrill junkie too. Our boy was the same at that age but Jurassic Park scared the living day lights out of him back then we never made Hume do it again he chose to do it this year and was trembling in trepidation during the ride but was cool with it when we all got soaked and insisted we do another boat ride right after since we were soaked anyway! He lost his sunglasses but didn't stress out over it we just bought him another pair.
I almost offered to a boy sat to my left my hand to hold on Soarin' , he looked petrified so I got talking to his Mom who was sat two seats away from him and told him that he would be fine since even I don't like heights but that this particular ride was very smooth and relaxing and gentle and I love it and pointed out the handles to hold on to. Guess what he had a blast! He was so proud of himself for doing it the look on his face was priceless I as said to him he did really well and his Mom was amazed and thanked me for keeping him calm so he could enjoy it worry free.
I love to see kids try new things and learn things about themselves like this , it boosts their confidence in leaps and bounds. Thank goodness most parents are sensible and manage to keep the kiddos happy and chilled out on vacation and still hang on to their own sanity in the process(;)

Just got the app!!! Now I need to figure out how to post pics to the DIS before my trip in 36 DAYS!! Is there a tutorial for that somewhere in here? Thanks

Just download the Photobucket app it's free and use it to post by uploading the photos from your albums on the phone/ pad or laptop, go into the Photobucket image select the Information button in the bottom it will give you script to choose click the bottom one the image copies and then go to your Dis post click where your text stops you should have the blue line tap it until it says paste and continue it will add the text for the image, once you post on the Dis your photos will apply for you to see, neat and nifty;)

We walked past CMC frequently during our stay and we were not impressed with the smell lingering there at all, the fish did not smell like freshly caught and cooked shellfish and having eaten plenty of fish caught off the Atlantic and cooked soon after and living close to the coast our noses sent us the warning that something just wasn't right in there! Another odd thing we were never approached by ant Disney Photographers until our last two days and that was only when we were trying to get photos of DS with Minnie Mouse by which time our vacation was a moot point. I got the feeling that they wouldn't have even asked then if I had not took my phone into the character spot and DH took his camera and the Disney photo girl said his photos would be better than the one they were using anyway, umm what!! How odd, even in MK in front of the castle we were ignored. They only seemed to look for families with really young kids and honeymooners.

Pretty sure, but my room has always been ready and we had the bands last month so didn't need our cards to get into SAB. SNIPSIES!!.

The trick here, when your room is NOT ready, is that they give you all your keys to the world stuff, WITH the UNLOCK code of the room you are staying at..... They just DON'T TELL YOU YOUR ROOM NUMBER.

So that's how that works... You only get the room number info once the room has been cleared by housekeeping.

SNIP-EROONIES!!....

Photopass has really gone down hill of late. They just flat out aren't making the effort and some of the photographers get quite snarky when you ask them politely to use YOUR camera. For our last trip in June DH borrowed a camera from work (as opposed to using our cell phone) and on more than one occasion the Photopass photographer took the picture of our backs as we were walking toward the character!

When we asked him to take more than one picture he refused, handed us a photopass card and said out pictures would be on that!

I can't tell you how many of the pictures are crooked and we are not even close to being ready to pose. There is definitely something up because this is an ACTIVE switch from years past. The number of Photopass photographers putting forth this poor effort was too large for it just to be one or two bad apples. It makes me wondering if it is some sort of a marketing push to force people into buying the cards...

Then I've heard it from people buying the Photopass cards that the pictures aren't that great. Years ago when we last purchased Photopass we decided that it wasn't worth the effort of hunting down the ever more elusive Photopass photographers and we would not spend that money again. Who knew that things would get even worse!
