2012 Free Dining Dates...?

My dad called the other day and asked the lady on the Dining Plan line this same question. She said that usually they announce it mid-August, but the people who run the promotions have been in trouble lately from executives because they are running the free dining promotion way too often, so they may scale back on it next year and do it less. I really really hope they don't!

The free dining dates were May 27- June 2 because we checked in the very last day it was available and we had 10 nights of free dining. I sure hope they offer it for around the same time frame next year because we're booked for May 30-June 8 at French Quarter!!! :goodvibes

Subbing, and praying, once again, for August 2012 FD. We have had it for our last few trips, love it, and it fits as the best discount for us! Heck, it's how were doing a 10 night stay in a few weeks at the Wilderness Lodge!!!! :cool1:

These are the same dates I want to go at POFQ, too! I'm not booking without FD or a room discount, though.

Good luck to everyone!

Just checking in again... Nothing new to report but one of the PP got me a little worried something about them scaling the FD promos back for 2012 :scared: Oh well here is some more good vibes & pixie dust :goodvibes:wizard: come on Free Dining.

I'm hoping for Feb/March.

We actually moved our trip up last year to take advantage of the FreeDDP offer. And we're doing next year as well in the hopes that it is offered again during the month of September. I wish they would have made the announcement a little sooner last year that they were going to offer it throughout the year. We would have kept our original dates of mid to late October so the kids would miss less school. But they never announce that they will extend it until August. And that is just way too late for us to be booking a trip. :(

Here's to hoping that they at least offer it until the end of September. :dance3: (Pixie Dust Dance!!)

Hoping and Praying for FD deal around June 1, 2012. Little Cousins is getting married and we would love to have FD then. Here is keeping my fingers crossed:cheer2:

I might get flamed but I am in the minority who had no problem pulling my kids out of school for vacation. My oldest who is 9, has been pulled out of both first and second grade for 5 days. I plan to pull him out of 4th grade as well. We live in a very small town and he is far advanced for his age, he rarely if ever is assigned any homework and usually missing very little (as far as lessons go) as we go in the early fall.

Me too. WIll be pulling my DD (gr3) and DS (gr5) out in February. Two years ago I did it in NOvember.

I can only take holidays at certain times in the year.

Teachers will be told in the fall (and sworn to secrecy. yikes. surprise trip for the kids). May not be 'ideal' but it is what it is.

oh and hoping and praying for Feb2nd for FREE DINING. this trip, ds is considered an "adult"the price is significantly more for this trip! Free Dining would be the best discount for us

If the UK promo is to be used as a guide, ie mod gets free quick service dining, would disney allow us to upgrade to table service dining? what is the diffrence usually to do so?

Just saw a posting by a travel agent on Facebook that said:

Rumor is now saying the Disney World Free Dining that is opening tomorrow will be extended into 2012 as well:

Jan 8, 2012 - Jan 14, 2012
Jan 22, 2012 - Feb 4, 2012
Feb 12, 2012 - Feb 18, 2012
......March 4, 2012 - March 10, 2012
March 25, 2012 - March 31, 2012
August 19, 2012 - September 29, 2012

I was hoping that May would be included in those dates as well. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow.

Were looking to go the same time. Don't know much about the Free Dining, not really sure how it works. IF we did book and they were announced could we apply them to the original booking and get that discounted?

Yes, even if you go ahead and book, you can call back and get the free dining if it is available for your time and resort! :thumbsup2

We have been taking DD17 out of school yearly or at least every other year for most of her school years. The schools, even high school, never had a problem with it. I believe her sophomore year she did have more difficulty getting caught up with school work, but her teachers were very good about it. If all goes as planned, we'll be pulling her and her BFF out for a week in February.

That's some good information to have right there. We're going down September 14 - 23, 2012

We have taken our DD16 out of school each time we have went and our DS8 as well the past two trips. They have been just fine each time. They even missed 6 days this last trip. But the neat thing is that most of DD16s teachers give her assignments to her during the week before so she has most it all caught up before we leave. What little bit she has left over she does while we are flying down, in the car on the way to and from the beach on our Clearwater Beach Day :), and then on the plane ride back home. DS8 gets all of his done before we even leave (Kindergarten and 2nd grade work for him)
