I feel so out of touch and behind with my BC/YC friends. School started Tuesday and between:teacher: and coaching I am gone from my house from 6:40 a.m. until about 7-8pm:eek: The good news is as soon as soccer season is over I have a long weekend trip for F&W fest that I can look forward to :cool1:

Ninja Mom Wishing your family the best and wanted you to know your in my thoughts and prayers:hug:

Downtown Disney bound this morning followed by pool time this afternoon. :beach:Tonight we have dinner at Kouzzina and our Illuminations Cruise. Really can't believe we have 3 full days left. I feel like we live here we've been here so long!:cool1:

Sounds like you are having a great time:) I know what you mean about feeling like you live there. It makes it so difficult to leave

:offtopic:

Is anyone involved in a Fantasy Football league that needs a player? Last year my son Nate and I (mostly Nate) managed a team in a league that was formed here on the DIS, but I haven't seen anything this year on the Community Boards. Well, there was one thread, but the OP never replied to my post or a couple of others.

I could just join through Yahoo- or does anyone else have suggestions for fun and easy FF leagues?

Thanks!

Dee

DH and I have both done leagues on yahoo and espn. It's pretty easy to join those public leagues. Good luck :thumbsup2

:wave2:
Hi everyone--I've been lurking here for a bit and wanted to thank all of you for convincing me that BC (or YC) is going to be our resort for our trip this spring. You guys do an awesome job of selling it --are you sure only one of you is on the Disney payroll? :lmao:

We stayed at the Poly for our last spring break trip and loved it. Do you mind if I give you my reasons for switching and a couple of other factors to get some positive reinforcement? DH is unconvinced.
1--Pool: We are a pool loving family--my kids love the slides, we definitely consider a pool a prime factor in our decision.
2--Comfort: We will have my parents (70+) join us for a couple of days. I'll pay for their room and I want them to be very comfortable--they aren't really Disney fans :confused3 but live in J'ville and are coming to celebrate my DDs actual birthday (twins turning 9).
3--Location: We don't really do Epcot "right" and I've realized that the World Showcase part of Epcot just isn't going to happen unless we stay right there and just enjoy one or two countries an evening (hoppers). I haven't decided if we'll make reservations or just do quick service. Also, we love Hollywood Studios.

Thanks again! I'm so excited--going to book soon and hoping there's a BB offer in our room when we check into WL for a 2 night trip in December for a party only trip.

Welcome, but be warned. Once you drink the water at BC you will be addicted:lmao:

Thanks, again, WDW4us2006!

On a related note- does anyone have a review of the Illuminations Cruise or Albatross cruise that they would like to share, and give me permission to add to the FAQ section.

I have a couple of people I can ask, but if one of you reading wants to add something that would be great. We occasionally get people asking for reviews about the various marina offerings.

Thanks!

You can quote me and use on site...my reference is May 2011 so, you may want something more current.

My 2 DS sons went, ages 10 and 5. I was concerned that my oldest would think it was childish but I did not want the 5 yr old to be alone. The CM gave the oldest more of a "important" role on the ship. They both had a great time and both said it was one of the best things they did at Disney. My DH saw them off at the shore. It leaves from the BC/YC dock. He said the CMs were well equiped to managed the kids. They all had to wear lifejackets and they reviewed the rules of the boat. They zigzagged all over Crescent Lake. They entered the world showcase to search for treasure before it was open- they really thought that it was cool to be in EPCOT when no one else was there. They looked for various treasure spots throughout Crescent Lake as the crew told a story about their adventure. They were given a snack - would not call it lunch; juice box, uncrustable sandwhich and fruit snacks. They also received a treasure bag full of loot. Surprising that most of the items were Oriental Trading type of things but it was plentiful and the kids loved it. My little one is still playing with it. My DH sat on the beach and could keep tabs on the boat as it made it's way around the lake. It was a little pricey, but what isn't at Disney?

We found it as a nice "boy" activity when my daughter went to the BBB. We did this on a day that was to be our "down" day/pool day. They want to do it again next year - I think my oldest will be over the age limit. Sister wants to go instead of the doing BBB.

Regarding Fantasty Football:

DH and I have both done leagues on yahoo and espn. It's pretty easy to join those public leagues. Good luck :thumbsup2

Thanks so much! We did a Yahoo league last year. It was fun playing with other DISsers with a lot of Disney-themed team names. My son actually signed up for a public league this morning on Yahoo and he will be drafting his team tonight.

Regarding Albatross Cruise:

Thanks so much!!!

I just had a question in regards to requesting a microwave. We are booked YC CL for next July and was thinking that may come in handy to heat up some leftovers. How do I go about doing that? Do I need to add it to my ressie or just request it when I check in. Is there a fee for it?

Thanks everyone.

Dee,
We would like to hang out with the noodle family during our first visit to the BC. Maybe they can show us around :dance3: We can pick up from LJD2143 and hand them off to Missyrose. One of our pool days is Oct 1st....so that works out perfect. 25 more days til our trip!!!:woohoo:

Thanks,
Kari

Somebody mentioned the towel reserving of chairs that never get used. Saw a LOT of that today. We arrived @ 10 am to get a shaded spot with the kids. Watched a lot if solo folks using towels to stake out several chairs but never saw anybody touch them by the time we left at 1.

FWIW there is a sign at the entrance asking guests not to do this.

We just arrived today. We were upgraded to a lagoon view from our garden view! A wonderful surprise. We got to SAB and the pool (or at least the chairs) is packed. We're sharing the ine chair we found. We took two laps in the lazy river and it seemed a bit lazy, not too much ump this time. My husband said something to a lifeguard and he said other people have commented on it today. Overall, I'm super stoked to be here!!!

Just finished at HS and now on our way to MK. Saw Teena in the lobby

Also forgot to mention yesterday at downtown disney we were one of the first to do the interactive Phineas and Ferb. it was cute but definitely not worth waiting more than 15 minutes.

We leave tomorrow night for the Hyatt then fly Tues am. Planning on some pool time in the am. There is a gap for the noodle family. Anyone here now want them for a couple of days?

Teena you have been SO missed. I am sure you had a wonderful time in Las Vegas with your DD and Lily. :goodvibes We will be arriving on September 24th and I believe you & your hubby are on your cruise so I will miss meeting you in person.

Get ready to drink from the Beach Club water and looking forward to a new resort addiction. ::yes::

I have added you to the Noodle list- you may want to check with the people who have the noodles before and after you to see if you want to do a direct handoff or just a pickup from the bell services closet.

:fish:

Bumping this up- I believe you have to wait until you check in to request a microwave. Honestly can't remember if there is a charge or not.

Anyone know?

Well we made it thru Hurricane Issac okay. And we'll be at the BC for our first time staying there in 6 days!:cool1: But I have to admit I do feel a little guilty to be so happy & excited about our Dis vaca when so many of our fellow LA peps are suffering just down the road. My DH has a co-worker who lives in one of the areas that they evac. right after because of fear the levees was going to breach. It's sad:(

Yay! Can't wait to follow the adventures of Flat Ben.

So happy to see that he began his trip by meeting Teena! :goodvibes
