2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 3- Don't Post Here!!! New Thread, November 2012

We always rent a car and don't ever use the buses. We just don't like to wait, and we especially feel that having a car is easier when hopping from one park to another. I do think that we'll probably use the car less this trip since we are staying at YC and can walk to Epcot and DHS. And if we're hopping from Epcot to MK, we'll probably just catch the monorail over and leave the car.

And we will take the bus at least once this trip...for our early morning ADR at Cindy's Royal Table. Since the bus will drop us at MK, we figure that's the best option so we're not late.

I think we're at 73 days now! Can't wait.

Yay!!! It's coming fast!
I HATE the buses too. We didn't rent a car last 2 trips- BC and Poly.
I try to avoid the buses whenever possible.

I'll be sure to share some sunny pictures from the "dark" side this weekend!! We fly out Friday morning!!!! Secretly hoping for a serious room upgrade to a 2BR so that I don't have to share a room with MIL (after having had her live with us the last 2 1/5 months - I could use some space!!) But if not we'll be perfectly happy cause we'll be in Disney!!!

If anyone has anything they want me to check on or confirm, post it here and I will do my best to find out! Everyone has been a huge help so I'd like to try and repay some of you!! Thanks to a great garage sale we had a few weeks ago we have BBB and Pirates League scheduled for the kids, along with the Albatross Treasure Cruise, AND an Illuminations Cruise for everyone!! Hoping to sample some more yummy treats in World Showcase that I've somehow missed in my last 8 trips and of course partake in a Grey Goose slushie or 2 or 5 .

Trying to finish packing tonight so that tomorrow night I can focus on cleaning up the house - school starts 2 days later so it's going to be a little crazy.

I've got the DIS app on my phone so hoping to do some live posting to let everyone know how it's going. We have a few later mornings planned (kids and MIL didn't handle RD's too well last year) so I'm hoping the crowds are still manageable. Really hoping more people held off for another week or two to catch FD, or F&W so that crowds will be lower than expected. My Disney bestie rescheduled her entire trip 2 wks ago and pushed it out so they would be there just after the official FL opening!!

I am switching us to a regular room. Just so everyone knows I would not have even considered this if my husband was going to be with us the whole time. To clarify we were only going to be 5 of us 2 out of the 9 nights because my hubby is leaving the majority of the stay. The other 7 nights we will be a party of four.

I don't want any problems on vacation so I'll just move us to a regular room. Thanks for everyone's help and being nice about it.

Ummmm AND the two other families were upgraded to CL!!!! So great! I'm so happy!! I was waiting and they texted me to come to lounge! LOL. And one has same view as us! Waiting on others room assignment.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered a million times on this thread, but is the BC typically the last bus stop?

The reason I ask is that we have an 8:15 am ADR at Tusker House and I'm trying to figure out when I need to be at the bus stop.

I hear you and completely understand. That room would work fine for the family most of the trip but those two days. Tell hubby to enjoy the football game and I hope you enjoy the BC/YC/BCV. To tell you the truth though, what NinjaMom had to say about what she read on other threads would be enough to make me think twice about it and I'd probably be looking over my shoulder the whole time I was there. Hope you and your kids have a great time at the World.

One month from today I will be at YC with my Mom; so excited!

We're doing the first night at ASSports , then three nights at YC , and then I'm heading back to ASSports.

I have done two trip reports now, but I'm considering doing a live TR this time; seems like it would be more fun to come back from my trip and see my TR already done. What a great snapshot in time, too!

Still deciding. Regardless, ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!

Hmmm...booked a standard GV room at the BC for September (9/8-9/15). How likely do you think it'd be to get upgraded to water view? Or CL even! Does that ever happen??

Obviously upgrades happen ... usually for room counts. Sometimes we get oversold in standard view rooms and have to upgrade to garden view or water view, etc. Upgrades sometimes happen because of Disney Magic too.

But if you really want a water view or club level, definitely book it!

I love the views at BC/YC. A lot of people don't care about views and it certainly wouldn't ruin my vacation but I didn't become a "view snob" until I stayed in the Epcot Resort area. There's a peacefulness that I get when looking over Crescent Lake and SAB. It actually adds to the relaxation of my vacation. Don't get that same feeling at any other resort with the possible exception of AKL. Gotta have a savannah view there!

Hi Masonmj84 I have never stayed at the BC (will be there next month) so I can't anwer you question regarding the bus stop rotation. However, last night I was booking a ADR through the Disney site. Before I was allowed to complete the reservation I had to check off that I had read all the info on dining.

Point is: On the Disney site it says allow 1 1/2 hour for transportation to and from your dining reservation. I know we all say here on the DIS to allow 90 minutes for travel especially when going to a restaurant that is inside a park. But for some reason seeing it printed on the site really got my attention.

Woo Hoo! Your trip is coming fast! 39 days for us and I can't wait. Been having a tough time lately and am so looking forward to enjoying my time at Disney!

Agree - loved looking out over SAB and Crescent Lake each night and early mornings - sooo peaceful after a night in the parks!! We booked water view again for this trip.
