Gator at the BC:scared1: We don't have many of these in England. Do they stay away from people? What is Disneys policy on Gators, do they remove them, or leave them be??

Where there is water in Florida, there are Gators. Disney removes them when they become a certain size and relocates them. I almost ran one over on my way home from work two weeks ago.

Good week for me. :goodvibes

1. Finally got a 30% pin for July.

2. My district is picking up my airfare as well a good chunk of my resort costs.

3. My friend/co-worker will be staying at the BC with us!

We changed our dates by one day and now will be arriving July 19th and checking out the 23rd.

Looking forward to Captain's Grille breakfast and dinner. :)

How cute, woudl love to see pics! I tried to book an appt there and the lady wasn't a lot of help. At first she told me they do not take walk ins, then after checking the schedule and not finding any appts she said I can just walk in and wait in line argh. Were you able to make an appt? If you just "walked in" how long did you wait?
Thanks!

We got an appointment last time and appointments for this trip in June. We just called the Disney dining line and they took care of it, no problem both times. Last time we got there a little early and I was in a panic since they lady in line told me they did not honor reservations and I was going to wait in line like everyone else (like 6 people ahead) but at our exact appointment time the barber came out to get us and took us right in! It was great. DD requested to go back this time.

And good news! Our wait list came through so my dad will be joining us at BCV for the weekend we are at BC!

So you are down by 1501? Can't be any better than that! Congratulations and hope the vacation is restful, peaceful, and gator-free. Sorry to hear about the mousekeeping issue but it sounds like you aren't going to let it spoil any of your trip. Good for you. It's just a shame the previous room occupants had to be so inconsiderate.

Keep these reports coming. We love to live our vacations vicariously through those that are actually doing it.

They fixed our room up with all fresh linens so I feel MUCH better. Totally not mousekeepings fault; would be easy to miss, but yuck! We are right by 1501... Fantastic location!

Glad you are having a great time!!! So happy to hear weather is nice and crowds are minimal. Sorry about your surprise! That is gross. Ugh. Hope the rest of your trip is only filled with magical surprises!! :)

Trip has been awesome! Great dinner last night at Boma and the night before was 1900 PF and the stepsisters were hilarious! We are doing a sort of flat Stanley with my dd's black stuffed cat and they were so funny! They carried on and on that they wanted a 'spooky cat' and Lady Tremaine repeatedly said no. I WISH I had my video camera out!

Thanks!

We walked right in and signed in. We waited maybe 10 minutes and that was around 10am ish. They were great! Cut my dh's hair and then did the Mickey on his head - we had tons of compliments and a few CMs said they hadn't seen that done before. DD is almost 15 and her hair was so cute; not babyish. I highly recommend stopping there - I wish I had a few years ago!

I was told the runners were changed out in between guests. Whether they are or aren't, the housekeepers are suppose to look at the runners, bedspreads, etc. and if they see it is soiled, it needs replaced. Call and ask to speak to a housekeeping manager!!! Tell them what you found. They need to know so they can talk to the appropriate housekeeper!!!!!!! You will be helping everybody if you talk to the manager. They can't fix it if they don't know about it and talking to the housekeeping CMs will just get you new linens now, it won't take care of why it happened in the first place.
Thanks Teena - I stopped by the concierge desk this am and they made sure housekeeping fixed us up. I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it, but it really grossed me out; esp. because I was cleaning it up... thinking it was a messy 12yo.

Appreciate your reply!

We're all booked to stay Sept 9-16. It'll be our first time staying at the Beach Club, excited & nervous at the same time!:cool1:

We are having a great time; the weather is beautiful and the crowds are not crazy. Missed the gator so far and hope we don't see him at all!

One thing that had grossed me out is that I thought all the bed linens were changed between guests. Found a lovely surprise (ugh!) under the little decorative runner at the end of the bed... Someone used the duvet as TP. I thought my son got chocolate on it until I started to clean it up - yuck!!!

I'm going to ask mouse keeping to change ALL the linens in the morning but ewww. I am so disappointed; I thought this stuff was always done.

Everything else has been great. The pool is unbelievable! We have a great room by the door closest to Epcot. It is so convenient. Went to the barber shop yesterday and dd 14 got the glitter pony tail - so cute! My DH got a haircut and the stylist put a Mickey on the back of his (balding) head with pixie dust - soon cute! I will post pics when I'm back home.

So sorry to hear about the housekeeping issues. :sad2: It seems to be a trend when I'm reading about the YC/BC lately. It's never been a problem for us in the past, and I have to admit I'm getting a little worried about it.

The haircuts sound really cute -- I'm looking forward to your photos when you get home and post them!

Thanks for keeping the rest of us updated! Hope you are having a fantastic trip! :goodvibes

Hello BC/YC friends!

I've been terribly absent from our thread lately! It was a very busy Teacher Appreciation Week and the excursion booking/check-in date for our Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska is coming up, so I've been busy with additional research regarding the Wonder. (Wow - thinking I'm going to like the Wonder much better than the Dream - does that sound crazy?) Also, my imaginary BC stay in August (and there are many - Dee, Robyn and Mickey T can attest to that!) is looking unlikely. :sad1: So I'm a little down about that. All is not lost, but I'm not optimistic.

I should add a bit of information: As I posted earlier, my very best friend was at WDW a couple weeks ago, checking into BWI. At check-in, her family was upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite at BC. So during a date night at Yachtsman, my friends decided that they couldn't leave (they were headed to Universal) and needed to stay an extra night at BC! They didn't think they would be able to stay in their room, because they had paid for a deluxe room at BWI (not a 2-bedroom suite at BC.) They spoke with a CM at the front desk at BC and the CM extended their stay by an additional night at the same rate as the original BWI reservation. Yay!

We had NO problems with Mousekeeping on our last stay, except for a long wait for a cleanup after DS threw up. In fact, I was amazed at how fast they responded to our two requests (one for more shampoo/conditioner, because DD has a shower hourly. LOL. The other request was for a new robe because the robe got taken with the laundry) Both requests were honoured in under 5 minutes. When they did come to clean after DS was sick, they completely sterilized the room - it took them an hour, but it was totally worth it. Poor DS fell asleep on his arms in the Club Lounge... :( Turns out that it was most likely sunstroke because none of the rest of us got sick.

Anyway, I've posted my family pics to FB, but I thought I would post the more relevant BC pics here:

Some pictures of the cot. Sorry about the state - we were packing up the room! They sent along the normal blanket with the cot (the yellow one, the same as the one in the closet):

There was a small foundation under the cot mattress. It was quite comfortable - I ended up on it one night. Only problem was that it affected the door to the balcony, and also it was right under the air conditioning vent. Soooo cold! LOL

Back home, just dealing with Mickey withdrawal... I won't be back next year, but I'm aiming for 2014!! :)

Feckless - wow great view! Totally understand the withdrawal.

We had a cot couple of years ago for DS was 6 foot tall at the time and said it was very comfortable :thumbsup2

Pixarmom :wave2: great story about your friends. :cloud9:

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

So I just went through everything I have purchased for our trip and I'm realizing I went overboard... oopsie! My husband isn't going to be happy if we have to pay for more bags on United :(

Anyhow, just following up to see if anyone knows about dive toys at SAB? Are they permitted? Thanks so much! This time next week we'll be snoozing at YC!!! :o)

I know we've taken them before. Not sure if we ever used in SAB ... but know we used them in the quiet pool (at least the one at the villas).

Hope that helps. And have a great time!
